AI: Testosterone and vasopressin both play roles in regulating aggression, with testosterone potentially facilitating aggression by influencing vasopressin receptors in the brain, specifically in the ventrolateral hypothalamus (VLH). Vasopressin, in turn, can also independently affect aggression, and the interplay between these two hormones is complex and can vary across different brain regions and social contexts. Elaboration: Testosterone's Role:Testosterone is a key hormone associated with ag…

That's not true. Misogyny is held by men who are narcissistic.

You should research into aromatization. Both testosterone in men and women converts into estradiol (a form of estrogen) via aromatization. There are tons of benefits having estrogen not just for bone density and libido, but also brain functions.
/r/MensRights15/07/25 07:50 PM

But estradiol and testosterone are both important for both men and women.

You have to prove there is a proxy. You cannot just assume there is one without evidence. 56:33 is pretty significant difference. It's basic math. More than half of child murders are committed by fathers. And this is only in Canada, I'm sure it's worse in the US.

This is Canadian stats: Quote: "The majority of family perpetrated homicides against children under 18 years of age are committed by parents. Over the past three decades (1977 to 2006), 90% of family-related homicide victims under the age of 18 were killed by a parent. Fathers are more likely than mothers to be the perpetrators (Chart 4.5).11:24 : Fathers are more likely than mothers to be the perpetrators (Chart 4.5). And men kill older children and adolescents.
/r/MensRights15/07/25 06:26 PM

That's not true. There are sex differences in physical aggression starting all the way from early childhood. It's this reason why men are overrepresented in most violent crimes.

AI: "In child homicides, males are more often the perpetrators, and this is especially true for older children. While women are more likely to be perpetrators of filicide (killing of one's child) among younger victims, men are more likely to be perpetrators of homicide for older children and adolescents."

Not it's biology. Men have been fighting each other for thousands of years of evolution which is why they are bigger, stronger, faster and more aggressive/dominance.

From user MaleEducation: Amongst chimpanzees, our closest living relative, 92% of murders were done by males with 73% of the victims being males. This is also observed in the other great apes. Based on FBI statistics, amongst homicide offenders with known sex, males make up 88% whereas amongst victims with known sex, males make up 78% of the victims. These rates are quite constant amongst all human societies as well, even though many have been isolated for hundreds and thousands of years, so the…

Patriarchy does not have a evolutionary benefit. It' an inevitable structure based on the fact that women get pregnant early therefore need men to look after them. That's the number one reason why men dominate because they are not constrained by pregnancy like women have.

Dude DHT is a form of testoterone and men have more of them than women. DHT is what causes baldness and why that affects men more than women. Men who are narcisssists also tend to have higher cortisol
/r/MensRights08/07/25 05:48 PM

It's not just testsoterone. It's also other male hormones such as DHT and vasopressin. Also research: Human aggression exhibited a weak positive correlation with estradiol concentration, https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10662589/ Yes also women who are criminals have high testosterone. It's very rare for typically feminine women to become criminals. United nations report on worldwide stats show men commit 95 percent of homicide worldwide. That's bogus. Humans are more sexually dimorphic than a cat for example. You can't tell a cat's gender but you could a human gender.

AI:"Testosterone and vasopressin are both hormones that play a role in male aggression, but through different mechanisms. Testosterone can facilitate aggression by modulating vasopressin receptors in the hypothalamus. Vasopressin, in turn, is a neurochemical signal that regulates offensive aggression and social status, and its effects on aggression can differ between males and females. "

I support the pursuit of equality between men and women but I am realistic enough to know facts from fiction. There is a huger disparity between men and women in crime rate as is there is between men and women in sports.

Men have overall bigger amygdala and hypthalamus areas of the brain responsible for anger and aggresion.

Dude I never doubted that. Yes majority of both victims and victimizers are men. And I explain that is the case because of male-male competition.
/r/MensRights07/07/25 08:18 PM

I think you don't really understand my point. Men have higher tendency for competition and physical aggression which is why they play violent video game or partake in violent sports. And at the extreme end men also are iinvolved in violence and organized crime. TENDENCIES. Do you understand?

Specifically, the hypothesis suggests that testosterone's positive association with status-related behavior is more robust when cortisol levels are low. Conversely, when cortisol levels are high, this association is weakened or even diminished." A: "In 2025, research continues to explore the complex relat…

Those molecules may play a role. But testosterone is still the main hormone responsible for violence as indicated by the relationship between male crime rate and testosterone differences between men and women. And in my opinion this is mostly due to competition that testosterone increases especially between men.
/r/MensRights07/07/25 07:59 PM

And why do you think men are more physically stronger than women? It's because they have been FIGHTING one another for thousands of years of evolution. It's the male warrior hypothesis. Men have a natural proclivity towards violence, whether through social activities like sports and video games or through criminal activities like violence and organized crime.

Just go look at men who take steroids to increase their testosterone. They become more aggresssive.

That's a misinformation on your part. Yes men and women share almost same DNA but how those genes are expressed is different between men and women. Women do not have Y chromosome which is where the SRY gene for testosterone is located. Women with psychopahty have higher testosterone ratio compared to other hormones: AI: "Studies suggest that higher testosterone levels, particularly in combination with higher cortisol, may be associated with increased aggression and antisocial behavior in some wo…

Social norms does not affect whether or not someone murders someone else. It's more biological and there was one study that found that the most violent criminal in prison tend to have the highest testosterone levels. Testosterone is involved in competition which is where the context of aggression come from. Majority of victims of homicide are also men. If you think gender roles cause the disparity between men and women in crime then you are wrong. Men have ten times more testosterone than women …

Testosterone converts to DHT or activate vasopressin which are hormones involved in aggression. Psychopaths also have higher testosterone compared to cortisol. It's misinformation to say women are as violent as men. Men commit 95 percent of homicide worldwide and 86 percent of homicide in the US.

Listen. Gender roles have existed for thousands of years and it maybe even in our own instinctive blueprint as human beings. Even if rationally thinking gender equality is a good thing, those primal instincts and urges still exist.

AI: Testosterone is associated with brain size and structure, particularly in men. Higher testosterone levels tend to correlate with larger gray matter volume, and certain brain regions like the frontal and parietal areas are larger in men with higher testosterone.

I don't think that's true. They are not variable in all traits, just some. I wasn't talking variability in brain. I was talking about variability in traits. Here is what I found: Immunological traits: Females often show higher variability in immunological traits. Morphological traits: Males may show higher variability in physical characteristics like height or bone density. Cognitive and personality traits: Variability in these traits can differ, with some studies showing greater male variabilit…

Academic achievement is correlated with intelligence. No. School should not be segregated. We do have physical activity for boys. Ex: Recess, school sports, Gym class etc.

Both brain size and cortical thickness has correlations with intelligence. Men have greater brain size and women have greater cortical thickness.
/r/MensRights16/06/25 09:08 PM

Yes males generally have 11 percent larger brain size (after controlling for body size) whereas females have thicker cortices and greater ratio of overall gray matter to white matter. Women also have higher white matter in the frontal lobe, I think. (an area crucial for intelligence)
/r/MensRights16/06/25 09:05 PM
