Definitely ruining a lot of nerve endings and the fatality rate is surprising high considering that it is such a widespread practice. However it’s not mostly based on Christianity, in fact Christianity is the only Abraham religion who doesn’t practice mgm. The reason that it is so normalized in US is thank to the progressive movement and especially Kelloggs. You know the same people who banned alcohol nationwide and made it so that a 17 year old American can choose to join the military and die o…

This, so much this! It is a sick and perverted part of our culture, when adults indoctrinates boys and girls from a very young age into this distorted worldview. Just because someone is born with a penis does not mean that they always want to have sex with everyone around them.

Dunder head. You assume the facts of the case and then, instead of condemning the admitted sexual assailant, you go off on some tirade about the state of british media. You’re being disrespectful again. Name calling. Putting words in my mouth which is a form of lying, since it is dishonest in its nature. Throwing around with false accusations against me. I did not, and I repeat did not try to assume anything about this case, that is why I wondered why they didn’t choose to show us the footage of…

No but transparency is the only way we the people can keep our institutions from corrupting themselves. That is why, we the people are the only legitimate source of power. Beside, as we saw with the Depp vs Heard trial, we the people are much more fair in our judgement than both the media and the English legal system.

I had the same thoughts. The British have always been the epicenter of white racism. They were the people who invented the pseudoscience of racism in the first place. Now they have just changed their tactic so instead of talking about the dangerous barbaric black man they now talk about the dangerous barbaric man in an attempt to use misandry as a shield, throwing their own sons under the bus as a result.

Exactly. Some, unfortunately not all of them, were the reason for the reformation. But just because I’m personally not that sure about the hole ultimate authority of a pope and one church, do not mean that i can’t respect Catholics and the RCC. The RCC have(had) its demons but it sure as hell also do(did) a lot of good, now including recognizing male victims of domestic violence. We humans just tend to mostly remember the negatives.

The misuse of the word “femicide” here gives of some serious 1984 vibes. Femicide is when a fetus is aborted because it is biological female. A practice often found in South East Asia, communist dictatorships and among ethnic minorities in the west. The practice originated in The Peoples Republic of China as a result of the One Child policy combined with the misogynistic lack of expectations of adult women to financially provide for their parents when the parents reach old age. Resulting in a ge…

Well feminism has historically denied the existence of misandry. And it’s not hard for me to come up with feminists organizations that I have to deal with, who still denies the existence of misandry itself. I’m glad that more and more “feminists” here on Reddit at least say that they acknowledge the existence of misandry. But I have yet to see any confront misandry from other “feminists”.

That’s actually a great point. I misunderstood your criticism to be about the validity of the trans men in the article themselves, and not the work of the journalist who wrote the article for The Washingtonpost. Also as a side thought wouldn't it seem strange for people who wanted to be men for most or all their lives suddenly having issues with getting what they want and openly admiting it, that just isn't how people work in general. I read that as if they somehow should have regrets about transitioning. Reading the article it doesn’t seems like they’re regretting transitioning. They are just talking about the prejudices, discrimination and exclusion that comes with being a man. Which I get. I don’t wa…

Isn’t there both the EU Court in Luxemburg, and the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. I wouldn’t put my money on it. There are two aspects of democracy where the US is far ahead of the EU and that is constitutional protecting against discrimination based on sex and ethnicity, and protection of freedom of speech. Exactly. Britain had a booming economy, and needed a lot of skilled immigrants to meet the demands to keep the upturn going. At least up until Brexit. One question. What is up with Britain and all the misandry? Many of the most misandristic smear campaign like #everydaysexismproject, who officially states that they exclude males, both men and boys, from speaking out about their experiences as victims of sexism and gender based discrimination, originated in the UK. That’s true. We humans, both men and women often view biological human males as inherently disposable at best, and as a dangerous menace at the worst. …it’s for the people that feel entitled to relationships and are willing to commit violence if they don’t get it (e.g. acid attacks or murder). How often does that actually happen? That is a really interesting perspective. Gives me flashbacks to when I tried to read Das Kapital doing my folk Highschool years. Anyone know how to pronounce DeCrow correct? Is it The-Crow, they-Crow or a third option? Also a really interesting article, and a wonderful example of how the world is never just black and white / them and us etc. but always more nuance and complex then at first sight. Oh boy, imagine the amount of trouble that could be created by using this logic but switched the roles around so that this. Women do of course commit homicide offences, but nearly always the victim is a relative and the crime was committed against the backdrop of an abusive relationship or depressive mindset. Heard’s tormentors, many of them young women, do not seem to see themselves as anti-feminist. Oh yeah, I agree that fight for LGBT rights is generally a very relevant aspect of our understanding of gender and the relationship between the sexes. Maybe. A lot of organizations and other agents who claim to be feminists certainly prey on women’s androphobia, in order to benefit themselves and secure their relevance. But I don’t know if they’re the source of androphobia or just a accelerator of it. I disagree on the LGBT part though. I recognize the classic strong independent woman who don’t need no man trope. I generally think independent is great. Men beginning to take sick leave? That could either be a really positive sign of progress or another symptom of men’s issues going under the radar. If society is beginning to take men’s physical and mental health more serious and therefore allow them to visit their doctor or in otherwise prioritize their own well-being, then that is wonderful news, not only for the individual guy effected by this shift in mentality, but also for the rest of society, as it will lower the high health costs created…

Men who aren’t in a heterosexual relationship would just get some days off to take care of themselves. Single straight men have as a group a life expectancy that is way to low. The reason many feminists agree with MRAs about the need for a paternity leave equal to that of the maternity leave, is that without it women have a disadvantage in their careers compared to their male coworkers. The same logic can easily be used when discussing period leave. Giving men the same amount of time off, so that they can help their wife with the kids, the house chores etc. doing her period would be a win/win for both. The tricky question is how to finance such a policy. Not all employ…

What menlibs are doing here are one of those weird takes you have to take when you wanna reserve all the blame on men alone. In real life, who do what household chores are determined by each individual adult’s choice of occupation and earnings. Work-life balance is a game of compromises, and when it comes to it, most families align their priorities with their economic situation. So that most chores are assigned to the partner with the lowest salary, because that’s the most financial sound way to…

Quick follow up question: how is it going to effect young fathers? (under 18 years of age). Is you and your children’s right to be together as a family, in accordance with the human rights declaration, depending on your marital status with the mother? If it is, they should change that too, so that fathers and children have their human rights respected independent of whatever or not the mother and father are or have been married.

It isn’t about you, or if you hate or don’t hate. It is about the perception of MRA. Your statement mimics those of TERF and REDFEM talking points, which is enough to attract them to this sub. We already struggle with unfairly being labeled as a hate group or breathing ground for domestic terrorist. Do to the significant dynamics surrounding the traditional gender roles, the mother is in most cases around the world seen as the primary caregiver, which make her into being the de facto authority in that sphere. Be…

…actually a universal issue… Well I would say everything is an universal issue when you look at it holistically. Men and Women’s issues don’t happens in a vacuum separated from one another, but are instead interwind with each other, and therefore the conversations about them should include members of both sexes ideally.

The private sphere is everything an idiot cares about, while the public sphere is what a politician is concerned about. An idiot meant originally a private person, e.g. someone who focus is only on his household and his intimate relationships, e.g. his family and friends. An politician meant originally a man, e.g. someone who had an understanding of and cared about the issues of the polis, e.g. the city state/society/the world at large. So the private sphere, is your home, your family, your frie…

That's a nice thing for you to say and acknowledge, so thank you. Lots of people here think I am a man hater, simply because I sometimes disagree or offer an alternative perspective Unfortunately, we do have a problem with a lot of people coming here to try and troll us. It’s sometimes hard to distinguish between a troll and someone trying to argue in good faith. My advice is to do like Bernie Sanders and not really try to win, but instead just get your ideas out there.

That’s true. But even through it’s relatively easy, it’s still a lot of work to try and keep control over your partner like that. No wonder those women has less resources to focus on the outside in public sphere, when they use their focus on dominating the inside, in the private sphere. Almost like the matriarchal hierarchy in the private sphere is the reason for the patriarchal hierarchy in the public sphere. Or in other words, the gender roles are not the result of the patriarchy; it’s the pat…

That’s two very good answers to my question. If I understand your answers correctly it could be a result of the historical conditions found in the economic disparity between the male and female gender roles in the traditional household; and/or the answer could be found in evolutionary psychology, where it would be adaptive for the successful continuation of offspring, that the man has a larger sex drive, so that it would ensure his continual support of her and the children, by rewarding him for …

… maybe happens when women feel they are being neglected by their partners. I mean - their boyfriends are 'liking too many girls Instagram posts'. (The boyfriends do it innocently, not realising it is causing offense) so maybe sex is used as a way to get attention. Well that is a great example of a situation that can motivate to this behavioral pattern, where sex can either be used as a reward or withhold as a punishment. My biggest unsolved question is, where does the idea originate from. I can…

Good, just wants to be clear about that. We are often discredited for not being clear enough when we make those generalizations. :) And no, you haven’t misunderstood it, it’s the start on my thesis. I think it destroys your lust after, and pleasure of, being intimate with your partner, if you force yourself into it or withhold it, in order to manipulate and control your partner’ behavior. Instead of just doing it when you both feels like it. Must be why lesbians have the most orgasm, because wit…

Remember I do not believe that you are stupid enough to assume 'women' would literally mean every women from a practical standpoint. So what he is describing is a tactic many of us have witnessed, where some women try and use sex and affection to either reinforce some of their male partner’ behavior, or withhold sex and affection to punish their male partner’ behavior. Which I personally have a pet-thises about being one of the reasons behind the orgasm gab between the sexes.

I 100% support this post. The fight for equality should not be reduced to a battle of the sexes. It isn’t a zero sum game. MRA would properly have been much more accepted in the mainstream debate about gender equality, if men haven’t been expelled from the larger feminist movement doing the second wave. We should not repeat that mistake ourselves by expelling women from our movement. It’s a hard line to walk between treating women as our equals and falling into the pits of either hostile sexism …

Your blatant sexism is showing by the way you use the language u/Tricky_Dog1465. Throughout your comments you frame rape and sexual assault as something that a man does to a woman, and thereby neglect male victims and female perpetrators. You even unnecessary divides sexual assault into two separated gender binary categories at the end. You really have some things to work with, and I would recommend you to stay away from the toxic echo chambers you frequently hang out in.

It’s also pretty confusing. Imagine the horror when reality suddenly begins to force your brain to start perceiving women as individuals with their own unique experiences, opinions and values 🤯

u/johngawel and u/bellpepperblues since you both reply back to me on this comment, I’m curious if any of you have more to your similar opinions, then just lay-man’s logic? Not that their is anything wrong with having a opinion based on a lay-man’s logic as such.

Do you have any statistics on men applying for sterilization without their partners permission vs women applying for sterilization without their partners permission? And the success rates on such request for both genders? Or was it just a whatabout, to sidetrack the conversation on bodily autonomy?

Hey that’s a really condescending and immature way to talk to other people. You’re more then welcome to have a different opinion, and to elaborate on your way of seeing things, but there is absolutely no reason to become personal, ugly or resort to name calling.

The solution to this is simple. Ban abortions and divorces. People need to learn to take some good damn responsibility for their own actions and each other.

I too am permanently banned from r/facepalm for participating in this sub. Which is funny because I wouldn’t know that their sub exist if they didn’t send me a long letter about me being permanently banned.

That’s definitely true, but my guess is that both posts are made by the same woman. It’s a unfortunate way for cis gendered women to bond with each other by complaining about men even when there is nothing to complain about. I see these posts as a form of coping mechanism for men.

That’s a really interesting point. I will be sure to have that in mind next time I see a statistic about suicide attempt. Counting all episodes of cutting as a suicide attempt can easily skew up a statistic.

They have somehow manage to both neglect men and women’s issues in regards to suicide by doing so. It’s true that women attempt suicide at a higher rate then men, but more men commits suicide then women. This is do to two different issues. Women attempt suicide for attention/a cry for help, with may sound patronizing. But is actually a huge problem on its own. Something is seriously wrong when so many women feel like they need to attempt suicide in order for their mental health issue(s) to be ta…

Bro, coming from a broken home and all is sad okay. But it doesn’t excuse a 15 year old woman from actively joining and supporting slavery and systematic rape and sexual abuse of children down to 6 years old. At 15 you instantly know that those things are not okay.

Shorthand for biological females aka afab cis gendered individuals, maybe? 🤷‍♂️

That brings us to the underlying problem. It’s not every woman who does this, but it’s enough to make our fear a fully justified one.

Tell that too all those dead children. Oh that’s right, neither you or I can do that. At best you can go out and try to tell it to those of them who ended up being harvested as stem cells in your anti wrinkle cream.

Definitely, but who needs a brain when you can be so privileged you’re de facto immune in regards to consequences for your own actions.

Woaw that’s fuck up. I know UK’ rape laws aren’t gender neutral, both at least an dusty old relic, but India actively de-gender neutralizing its rape laws is seriously misandry.
