"I can't tell you what to experience." I figured you were referring to your own experiences and that's fine. I just felt like men's issues were being downplayed a tad, but judging from your response that wasn't your intention. Sorry if I seemed aggressive in my reply and I appreciate you taking the time to reply. If you don't mind, could you answer the other question of my post? That being: what made you an MRA or at least aware that men aren't as privileged as feminists would have you believe?

Those two things that you mentioned are only the tip of the iceberg of what men deal with. Boys are falling behind at school, 75% (I believe) of college students are female, men make up 75% of suicides and homeless (yet there are no men's shelters while women have plenty), there are no men's abuse shelters and when a man in Canada tried to start one he was driven to suicide by a mob of feminists, the diluth model, being expected to be traditional (strong, pay for dates, buy her drinks, be a prov…

I would argue that makes their insight valuable. They have a good idea of what it's like to be a woman (come on, none of us have ever been a woman lol) vs a man. Think of that "self made man" documentary. Plus, if they speak out about their experiences, it could further piss on the corpse of the feminist narrative.

Also, it's not like soldiers are the only thing a military needs. Women can be drafted for non combat roles.

Yeah, all this ish I've been seeing has me to the point of wanting to avoid women. Not to try and look like a victim, but I have autism. Social situations are incredibly difficult for people like me even without the out of wack gender dynamics. When you add the toxic witch hunt environment, I just would rather not even take the chance. I know I can come off as creepy. I know this environment also affects men without autism, but I figured I'd give my two cents since I don't hear this mentioned a …

If my response missed "the point", then that's on you buddy. It's on you to provide that context because in a vacuum, I stand by that statement because national leaders, soldiers, and manual laborers are vital to nation building. Care to argue that contributions to nation building has an even split between sexes? Not saying women didn't contribute at all, but yes men did, quite literally, the heavy lifting. Also, mentioning that men are the cause of a men's issue to dismiss it entirely is intell…

I mean, is he wrong? Sure, women made children and behind most great men were also great women, but be honest with yourself. Who did literally the vast majority of jobs involving construction and maintenance throughout history and even to this day when women have the option to do so? I know it's not something Feminists like to hear, but it's not like men enjoy realizing that our value is not in our lives but in what we can provide and that our lives are so meaningless that at 18 we sign up to ba…

Field trips to churches? Pushing kids to get married? Does that even happen? It shouldn't happen, but I don't think those things occur in developed western countries. As for Nikelodeon, agreed. Kids should be kept away. A lot of weird allegations towards their higher ups. I doubt Macy's Day Parades have a bunch of practically nude weirdos walking around jigglin and gyrating, teaching kids to pole dance, and I doubt they throw money at underdressed, dancing kids. I don't watch Super Bowls, so can…

Personally, I'd say save it for shows that target older kids and young teens at least. Some examples of shows that I mean are shows like the old DC animated universe, Teen Titans, Adventure Time, and Steven Universe (two of these did just that). Why? Because young children that watch Peppa Pig barely have any concept of sexuality. I don't think it's something we should accelerate so that they do have a grasp of it. Maybe if sexuality is never talked about and the explanation for why Peppa has tw…

He could perhaps be referring to the Nickelodeon Pride Parade, underdressed Drag Queens being around children, having little boys perform in drag at gay bars, taking children on "field trips" to drag strip bars, children's books talking about kids being trans or gay before hitting puberty, weird teachers getting a rush out of coming out to their class, or the left pushing so hard to allow kids to transition before they can even drink or get a piercing. Or maybe they're a homophobe. Tell yah what…

I should've specified. By rape jokes, I mean you visually see the victim get raped (Peter and Harrison Ford). Still, you're right. Non visual jokes involving women being raped do happen and my wording could've been better as well as my example. Also, agreed. I thought about that, actually. It's even hinted that Quagmire raped the little girl from The Ring and it was played for crabity laughs. The difference, however is that I've never seen Quagmire successfully rape a woman on camra the way we see the Bull strip Peter to his underwear as he screams, then cut to the Bull in bed with a traumatized Peter. Glen tries, but we don't see him succeed and if he does I guarantee you that it's taken no where near as far as the rape jokes on Peter and men in ge…

Yup. Another joke made at the expense of men but never women is rape jokes. Look at Family guy for a really good example. Peter gets raped multiple times as a joke while the only time I remember a female character being raped as a joke on FG was Meg by Donald Trump (this was also a stupid special by FG), which didn't go nearly as far as say the Bull and Peter or the Pie and Peter. Also, I should point out how Thor's trauma in the MCU after Infinity War is not at all taken seriously and was not u…

Social Media as a whole, yes. Simple: patriarchy doesn't exist in modern day, first-world countries. As for standards being set by men, much like crime against men being done by men, that's irrelevant. One, the standards still exist, therefore they're still a problem. Doesn't matter who set them. "The patriarchy" or men setting them doesn't make the issue disappear, though they seem to think that we're dumb enough to think that's the case. Two, it's both sexes that set standards for men. We take cues from the men around us, …

I actually agree with you on this point. Both men and women have problems, pretty much dismantling feminism's notion of living in a patriarchy. The fact that the term "male gaze" exists is honestly proof enough. What about female gaze? There's also the fact that video games, comics, and movies have such a strong need to make female characters less attractive, but the buff male characters are just fine. Not to mention novels that literally just have abs on the cover. Those aren't a problem, but Heaven forbid that Teela and recent She-Hulk look like actual women. Glad you agree, I think. True, sexism might not be the culprit and I never said it was for sure. You're basically saying that boys don't deserve a clean bathroom cuz girls get bullied and hide in their bathrooms. Bruh, the mental gymnastics is obvious. No we shouldn't ignore differences amongst groups, but that's not what we're doing. We're saying that the boys bathrooms at schools are neglected while the girls is taken care of and boys deserve decent bathrooms.

Again, missing the point. If men are raped more than women, how is rape an act of sexism to women? It's not, therefore that makes your logic the same as racists who justify racial profiling.
/r/MensRights26/09/21 04:06 AM
14

That first point is so stupid, I'm going to ignore it because you're missing my point. Yes, men are raped more than women if you include prison statistics, does that really surprise you? So no, rape is not committed out of sexism towards women, therefore my point on your logic being the same as racists still stands, unless you want to say that it's out of sexism towards men, but that would still be stupid af XD
/r/MensRights26/09/21 03:35 AM
21

Ever heard of prison? While it is a technicality, it still counts considering that they are men and are getting raped. Which still renders your logic as shit, including that part about rape being sexist. You might have a point if we were talking about the middle east lol
/r/MensRights26/09/21 03:24 AM
28

That's a horribly simplistic way of looking at rape. People rape to feel powerful over someone and get satisfaction, not because women are women. Also, men are actually more likely to be the victims of violent crimes, including rape, so your logic (women are assaulted because wahman) doesn't work, so no it's not a false equivalency. You say it's ok to be afraid of men because men are more likely to be violent, just like racists say it's ok to be afraid of black people for the same reason. Plus, …
/r/MensRights26/09/21 02:51 AM
32

Bruh, that logic you're using is exactly what people use to racially profile black people. Should I constantly be scared of black people because they commit the most crime per-capita? Should I treat them all like potential murderers and gang-bangers? Unlike you, I wouldn't do that because that logic is stupid as shit. Also, yes, not all snakes are venomous or even harmful for that matter. They do indeed get an unfairly bad reputation because of the venomous ones.
/r/MensRights26/09/21 02:37 AM
8

It's not just feminists, though. There's a reason that this is a trope on shows (the dad warning his daughter about men). While men do account for more violent crimes, it would be using the same logic that people would use to racially profile black people.
/r/MensRights26/09/21 02:29 AM

Respond with: Men exclusively die, women most affected. You could also tell this prick that men should not suffer the sins of their grandfathers. That kind of mentality is backwards and will create an unnecessary divide between men and women. You could also ask them to name a right a man has that a woman doesn't, then debunk whatever they say and proceed to list examples of privileges women enjoy based on the law, including being exempt from the draft.

Personally, it depends for me. I try not to approach female strangers because I'm an autistic man in the #metoo era, so yeah, very encouraging. BUT, if a woman is friends with a friend of mine, I'll try talking to her and, if I end up liking her, flirting with her. It also might help if you try doing subtle gestures to show a man that you want him to approach you. Sadly, we can't read minds, so we need clues. Thank you for the civil response, much respect! I’m just gonna agree to disagree. With all due respect, while that story is awful, I don’t think that’s rape culture. That’s just parents being assholes and not wanting their partner to look bad, in my opinion. As someone who has been raped, that couldn't be further from the truth. Have you seen what happens to people who get accused, whether or not it's true? Everyone turns on them and they lose their job. How does this make any 1st world country pro-rape? We do not live in a rape culture, 1st world countries are actually very anti-rape. To say otherwise, I'd argue, is extremely detrimental because with this narrative victims aren't going to be as willing to come out and it will worsen the divide betw…

This wokeness crap came about sometime after Occupy Wallstreet, which makes me think that the elites that run our country pump out this propaganda to keep the middle/lowerclass divided to prevent another OWS from taking place. That's just a guess, I obviously don't know for sure.

I'm curious: what's it like being human garbage that gets off on pathetic attempts at getting a rise from people? Why do you do it? Did someone break your poor wittle heart? Did you come from a single mother household? Does your daddy not love you? Do you even have parents?

I fully agree. I think they should at least be drafted for what you said at the end of your reply. That way they have some idea of what regular men deal with first hand and still have to deal with not sitting comfy at home like we do.

Sure, but let me ask: what were their opinions? Who are the ones that, for the most part, stay? What will sometimes happen to them for going against "the narrative"? I believe it was intentional, but I can understand why many would disagree.

I'm 20 years old and I feel you. I'm not lying when I say this: the reason isn't because of anything we did, but because of the spread of propaganda through colleges, Hollywood, mainstream media, and social media (for the most part). I believe that this result was manipulated by those that were under attack during Occupy Wallstreet. Instead of focusing on the 1%, the 1% turned us against each other and are now laughing at us as we go at each other's throats. Just my opinion/best guess.

Don’t use red herrings. It’s a very goofy way to argue. It just proves us right: our issues don’t matter to society and are easily brushed aside. Stick to the subject at hand.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
