I see your point, although my logic is - by the time it'll be a potential problem the majority of my life will be over by then anyway, and it would gripe me to work for my whole life to have the products of that work go on care costs when people who blew their money on useless stuff end up getting their care paid for...

Yeah mate I don't need much to live on, even in Australia. Thanks for the offer but I want to keep my assets liquid at the moment - one of my options that I'm considering is buying some cheap property to rent out and living off the rent

Very nice. I probably won't be able to retire until around 50 to be honest but that will still give me around two decades to myself relative to the average blue piller (hopefully), I think I can realistically live on around £10,000 or $20,000 Australian per year, depending on where I end up retiring. How much are you planning to use?

Yup, so I believe. And people don't even seem to acknowledge this as a potential issue

The way I understood it a lot of your states already do! Although if I was in the US I'd find it hard to keep up with all the differences. The states of Aus and the nations of the UK are bad enough

Yeah all a cursory google showed me was a discussion of how England/Wales and NI jurisdictions haven't 'caught up' with Scotland...

Register your relationship? No doubt plenty of women will use that as an excuse to get guys to 'show how much they care'. Madness. As I'm Queensland I genuinely thought it wasn't until 2 years in... I bet plenty of others do too.

Oh yeah don't get me wrong I'm far from considering it, thanks for the clarification! I can't believe that that's the way things are here but that's why it's important to know I guess. Nobody in day to day life seems to be aware of the risks!

Ok, I'll take the bait. You've asked for concrete terms and no metaphors. For me, I browse this sub as a reminder that I need to find my own happiness, and not hope for someone else to provide it. I'm 30 in a major city, I've been with over 50 women so enough to have a fair idea on the way they behave. And I've been hurt twice and not ashamed to admit it: those women showed me how cold, calculating, manipulative and self centred women are. The ones who I didn't care about showed me how clingy, d…

Late reply: just getting the hang of Reddit. NHS is the British public healthcare system

I get your points about large cities but there are some which are a fantastic place to take a break. I live in London and you've got a point about the likes of my hometown, Paris, Stockholm, Rome etc. but go a bit further east in Europe and its fantastic: Hungary, Serbia, Poland, the baltic states, Ukraine... also much cheaper than western Europe!

I'd highly reccommend it. I got one at 27, 30 now and so glad I did it. NHS wouldn't pay for it so I had to pay but so much cheaper than 18 years of slavery! Didn't even hurt and took a few days to recover.

United Kingdom: there's a discrimination law that covers the usual things including age, but me stating late 20s-30s preferred was fine but male only was a little triggering it would seem

Once I've got the room rented out I'm definitely going to confront them about it

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
