Read this one twice. I don't trust your literacy here. For example "what does celibacy have to do with masculinity" is a valid question. There are many cultures and religions that ask celibacy of the people there within, that also have masculine and feminine roles in their respective groups. So if people can be "traditionally masculine" within a culture that asks for celibacy it stands that you might be weirdly conflating things that have no bearing on one another, so I have to ask, what exactly…

Bro I removed the whole crux of your point and you couldn't tell the difference in the arguement and now you want to come at me because I tried to clarify what we are even talking about? Do recognize that "masculinity" differs culture to culture? Some people out here wearing skirts because that's traditionally masculine. If you don't get that a major part of debate is making sure you define terms to get everyone on the same point then I think you might not understand the idea that other people h…

You can care that a person is being weird and annoying without caring about if they "had them first" or whatever.

Nah the us military (or at least the navy which is what I was in) is just as stupid and fucked as anywhere else. The only difference is people in the military are also sleep deprived.

Well no... fitness = health+sex and fitness = health are different but I guess you can ignore how they're different and that would make them the same. What does celibacy have to do with masculinity or feminism or blue pill? Feels like buzz word soup. What does "comfortably masculine" even mean? You have to actually read what other people say and you have to explain yourself better.

I have friends who are woman who I am not trying to sleep with. But if you think that every blue pilled guy is only after sex, then I have to assume you think "equality for women" is a joke and the only way a guy could care about women's rights is if he's trying to get his dick wet. That's gross OP is gross. If you defend him, your gross.

Fitness... helps you live? Finance...... helps you live comfortably? "Adopting Female behaviors".... I need every source you have, my guy. Both the examples prior can have other reasons than sex. This was not a good example.

I tend to assume that people that say this just either have an active political agenda and are trying to demonize any interaction with a woman that isn't an attempt at control, or sex. That or they literally see woman as so lesser than them that they can't even fathom the idea of a person trying to "listen" to women and what they "say they want" unless it's for an extremely gross and selfish idea (you know, what they would do).

When I was a teenager I was basically an incel and a "nice guy". I really struggled finding a relationship and I went on maybe 2 dates all throughout school. By the time I graduated I had fully given up. A bunch of people from my grade were hooking up and dating, some of them were getting married and even starting families right after school. I know 2 couples I was friends with in school who got married within 2 years of graduating who 10 years later are still together. I decided that women just…

Calling out how stupid it is to just say "that's stupid" without adding much to the conversation. You might wanna stop doing that by the way. It seems your stuck only thinking the way you already do. Maybe being able to have better conversations will help you think outside the box a bit.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/11/23 12:57 PM

Yeah for sure! I honestly just recently started taking commissions on here, but I'll do my best to help!

Except you didn't highlight the reason why, you only outlined the conditions under which the problem I noted exists (opinions outside the consensus) and then proved why it's a terrible way to approach the debates held on a debate subreddit. Your comment failed to do what it set out to do. That's a fact.

I made this account Oct 20th. It's been live for barely a month and I've commented on very few posts. Most of my experiences came from my old account. This does not serve as an accurate sample size of my actual time on this subreddit The post you chose yo argue had a pretty easy rebuttle "that's an extreme case." In order to get there you had to call my position stupid how many times? And that's after how many responses from the op of that post and others? You've called my position stupid, every…

AND IMAGINE IF THAT WAS YOUR FIRST RESPONSE! I wonder what would have happened if someone just said "that is an extreme case and I don't think it applies here". Instead you want to act all high and mighty! The resonable response to my position did not come when it was made but days later in a completely unrelated post that still wants to be all shitty and superior to the way it's said! If people just debated the point then the point could have been settled with a single post. As for the actual d…

So again, the issue isn't that might point is the smartest thing ever said by humans and no one agrees, it's that I did not make that comment to shit on people, I did not come here to be better than anyone, I came here to argue my beliefs and if all goes well, maybe leave with a better understanding of the world around me and at least a better understanding of how others see things. Under that same post, my arguement was misrepresented, OP posted statistics and then misquoted them to better fit …
/r/PurplePillDebate30/11/23 10:12 AM

For sure, people just seem too quick to assume the worst however and I still think that's an issue, I'm still on here at the end of the day, I just wanted to point it out I guess lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/11/23 10:03 AM

I've kind of just said this in a different post but the issue is that there is an expectation of that. Like, everyone just assumes that if someome says something they don't agree with then it must be a troll? That can't be correct, amd that can't be useful as a means of debate.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/11/23 09:54 AM
2

So you seem very caught up on this one arguement of mine. But that post isn't a troll. If anything go back and read the op of that post's responses. In the same thread you have multiple instamces of people telling op he's just being combative for no reason. If anything my post was a good faith reaponse (as much as you disagree with it) to a person who was being somewhat of a troll himself.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/11/23 09:51 AM

The problem is that people assume this is the norm. Again I've had more than one instance where I've been in the middle of a pretty good debate that was actually a conversation between me and another person only for that person to suddenly and abrubtly end the conversation with a "nah you're retarded". Too which I responded saying "hey I wasn't trying to be mean and I'm sorry if it came off that way", only for them to come back and say that they were sorry and assumed I was trolling because they…
/r/PurplePillDebate30/11/23 09:46 AM

Why say anything at all then? If it's a troll wouldn't at best the arguement be to post the true point with links to supporting data and ignore the "lol nah"s or to ignore the whole thing all together?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/11/23 09:39 AM
2

Well that's kind of the point right? Rudness excludes people. If people on here are so unwilling to have genuine debate then this is not a place of debate. It's a place for the worst communicators to stroke their own ego.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/11/23 09:37 AM

All you've said here is that there exists a reasonable limit to intellectual discourse at which point politeness is thrown out. You can not convince me that rudeness is a better way of comminicating than genuine debate.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/11/23 09:35 AM

Nah, that's dumb.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/11/23 09:31 AM

The way this comment is worded is confusing. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe you're saying that people shouldn't use the idea of personal attacks as a shield for dumb arguments. I also think you proved my point that people on here are just mean, unhelpful, and condescending.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/11/23 09:30 AM

This place is literally titled "debate". If all you can say is "this is stupid" then that's not a debate. That's just someone thinking they're so much smarter than you that you don't deserve to be a part of the conversation. It's unhelpful and probably just made that person feel more passionate about making their voice heard as opposed to actually addressing whatever the issue is with their arguement. You've done nothing by saying that except further insure the person who might be wrong is more …
/r/PurplePillDebate30/11/23 09:24 AM

Disagreement can be civil. I refuse to believe the only way to educate the world is through meaness. You can tell someone that you don't agree, or that they're wrong with out telling them that their beliefs are stupid. My point wasn't even necessarily that women don't have parts that are better for them in the dating pool but rather that the experience might be different. I didn't really get a chance to express that as the conversation went in a different direction. My first post even expressed …
/r/PurplePillDebate30/11/23 09:16 AM

... Because I believe a differing point than the overall consensus? And you decided to make that point by calling me stupid?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/11/23 09:05 AM

Thank you for at least giving my thoughts a chance. You've really convinced me that everyone on here is really smart and very kind. I appreciate you taking the time out of your day to not be so mean. Great job. I take all of it back. wow.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/11/23 08:54 AM

I feel like people here are too aggressive. I deleted my old alt earlier this year, but ended up making this one as my main is used for art commissions and I don't want to lose business due to varying political views. However, I've had a lot of interactions on here where I will say something and someone will comment "that's so stupid" or "you're an idiot" or something along those lines. I don't think I'm dumb, but I also recognize that there's no humanly way I could ever be right about everythin…

Please correct me if I'm wrong but it sounds like you're saying that the reason a person has for rejecting you betrays exactly how attracted or not attracted they are to you. The thing is that the question OP asked is about dealing with rejection and if it needs to have an impact on your self image. The person who rejects you is under no obligation to explain why they are rejecting you, and unless you have some power to know for a fact why they are saying no, then you have no real way of effecti…

This doesn't make sense. The question is how to handle rejection. I have stated what to do if you are rejected. You have basically said "well actually if someone would say yes, then you wouldn't get rejected."
/r/PurplePillDebate27/11/23 11:59 AM

I think it's just a matter of understanding that people are more nuanced than a simple "yes because I'm attracted to you" or "no because I'm not". Keep in mind that she could have said no for near infinite reasons. Maybe she's under a lot of stress right now and doesn't have time for a relationship, maybe she just got out of a bad relationship and needs time before reentering the dating pool, maybe you have the same name as her cousin, maybe she had a bad day and just doesn't want to deal with a…

I think you're reading that wrong. That says "men in common-law unions were ten times more likely than their married counterparts to be killed by their partners" which means if a man is murdered by their partner then it's more likely to be a common-law partner than it is to be a married partner, not that they're more likely to be murdered than women are by a common-law partner. https://bjs.ojp.gov/female-murder-victims-and-victim-offender-relationship-2021#:~:text=Of%20the%20estimated%204%2C970%…

Nah it isn't. If I am looking for a partner and I know that I have a wildly higher chance of being murdered for picking the wrong one then I'm going to be more cautious, skeptical and distant. Saying yes to the wrong dude could mean my life, and saying no in the wrong way could mean my LIFE. Dating goes from a frustrating endeavor to a literal game of life and death, the consequences of which could be irrevocable. Men are terrified of approaching women because they might treat them like shit, bu…

Women are also like way more likely to be killed by their partner than men. There's that thing about how a man's biggest fear is being rejected by a woman and a woman's biggest fear is getting murdered. I don't really agree with making struggle a competition, but that's a pretty hard one to beat, I think.

So ok with that context I'll be honest... I kind of disagree. I still think that just approaching a woman in and of itself won't put you on a list unless you're doing something really weird. I think this at best is cause to not be overly touchy or pushy or aggressive when approaching a woman, but honestly you shouldn't be doing that anyways. But that doesn't stop it from being a concern for some dudes. So as far as helpful advice here's what I've got. Ask before you touch someone even if it's ju…

Hey, if you're worried about that happening then I'm sorry for making you feel like I was minimizing your feelings. Genuinely I don't want to make you or anyone feel like that. Can I ask though, because this concern feels very distant to me, what the scenario that leads to that is? Like what's the approach? Is the woman a stranger or someone you know or does that even matter? What do you think the women who would report it are like? I'm not trying to be mean or belittling, I just don't have this…

Lol I said should because I was being tounge-in-cheek. But if you'd like a more matter of fact statement then the way I see it is this. You have to fuck up SO bad, SO impossibly bad to end up with an actual charge. Walk up, shoot your shot, if you are that bad, then be obvious that you like her and about what you're trying to do, but stay away from references to sex, then if she says no or seems uncomfortable then say "sorry for bothering you" and walk away. You will not end up "on a list". That…
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/23 02:44 PM

Lol I mean you'll get put on a list if you don't leave her alone after she says no multiple times or if you say the literal worst possible pick up line imaginable, but unless you're walking up grabbing her and saying "lets fuck right now" you should be fine.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/23 02:28 PM

And that's valid! Everyone has different boundries and things they like or don't like so what works for some might not work for others. I don't think dating just for sex is the wrong way to do things, but I do think saying you just want sex and then being surprised when you catch feelings and they don't is silly. If you caught feelings and didn't mean to it's cool, let them know, and if they're down then see where it goes. If you want something more though and haven't made that clear then I thin…

I disagree. I have no idea how to flirt but I've been pretty successful with women. All I do is have normal conversations and if I'm interested I just say that like it's a normal thing and if they don't recpricate then I treat that as normal too. I've found a simple "hey my bad, I thought I'd try" and a continued effort to have a normal conversation is enough to get rid of any creepy vibes. In music there's this idea that there is no such thing as a bad note, only bad recoveries, meaning that if…

I think this depends on a bunch of factors. I don't find sex as sacred as other people and have had sex with women who were basically strangers because we met and talked about it and decided we were both down and that was it. I've also done this only to find there was a connection where I didn't expect one to be and was able to turn that into good relationships. I also have had 2 relationships now with women who struggled with physical contact and so the relationship came first and that was good…
