They look at best interests, factors like: parent-child relationship strength, who's been primary caregiver, work schedules, living situations, kid's preferences (if old enough), and willingness to coparent. When both parents are equally fit, they often lean toward joint custody. If you dont agree with your ex on that, lawyer up asap

Telling kids sucks but doable. Keep it simple "mom and dad won't live together anymore but we both love you." Don't blame anyone. For filing in AZ, you'll want legal help attorneys can guide you through the process and paperwork.

Getting served sucks but you're not behind yet. Here's what actually matters when choosing: • Ask about their fee structure upfront; hourly vs fixed fee options • How many cases like yours they handle monthly • Their approach: collaborative vs aggressive litigation • Timeline expectations for your situation Red flags: vague answers about costs, promising specific outcomes, or pushing you toward expensive litigation immediately. In Georgia, you have options, i.e full representation, limited scope…

Georgia divorce costs vary widely. With kids and assets, expect $5-10k+ based on complexity. Hourly rates run $300-400 in metro areas. You'll need a legal consult to get realistic estimates. Check out local law firms like marble law or atlanta llc for different pricing models. Some offer fixed fees which helps with budgeting vs hourly billing surprises.

Georgia is an equitable distribution state, so marital assets (including 401k contributions during marriage) get divided fairly, not necessarily 50/50. Her homemaker role matters legally. With 11 years married and her being out of workforce 6 years, alimony is possible. Also, you need a serious legal counsel, look into firms like marble law, hellams llc, etc

Inheritance is separate property in GA, but commingling (like that accidental transfer) can complicate things. Your lawyer should be fighting harder on this. You need aggressive representation, consider getting a second opinion from other attorneys who handle such cases in GA (stevenson firm, marble law, ailyons attorneys etc). Don't let her lawyer bully you into giving up what's rightfully yours

You're not wrong at all. Child support is supposed to reflect current financial realities, not what things looked like years ago. In Georgia, you can petition for modification when there's been a substantial change in circumstances like her income increase or your new family situation. The court will run new calculations based on both your current incomes. Her living situation with the boyfriend doesn't directly factor in, but her increased earning capacity absolutely does. And absolutely talk t…
