To the best of our knowledge, boys are four times more likely than girls to be diagnosed as autistic. In other words, 4 out of 5 people diagnosed with autism are boys.

Me, two interns, and the office supervisor disassembled, loaded, delivered, unloaded, and reassembled 24 sets of office furniture (T and U shaped desks, hutches, bookshelves, filing cabinets, desk chairs). We also packed and moved all of the boxes of paper files, equipment, printers, electronics, etc. We did all of this because the budget analyst (a woman) didn't want to spend several thousand dollars (of company money) on moving costs when we have able bodied men and company vehicles do it. So …

It's not that simple. I'm willing to work hard so I can see the kids all the time. If we split up, I won't see them nearly as much.

Not married. Generally stares at her phone all day while the kids run rampant, now that it's summer. That's why I spend so long on chores. During the school year she spends a lot of time driving one kid to and from school. Our other kid is only a young toddler that sleeps from 10 to 2. So she drives a couple of hours before noon, puts the toddler down for a nap, drives a couple hours after noon, then goes to her less than part time minimum wage job that covers her gas, car payment, and marijuana…

I feel you. I'm at 50+ hours a week. It would be more but there's not enough hours in the day. Work 6 to 4, cook dinner/chores/take care of kids until their bedtime at 8, work another hour or two, pass out, and repeat. Weekends are all day with the kids trying to do chores, shopping, errands, and yard work. At least the time with the kids is somewhat enjoyable, if I'm ahead on chores and nothing's broken.

Not falsely accused, but called out publicly for alleged sexual harassment by a coworker. It was after hours at a social gathering with other coworkers. Seven or eight of us were living in two houses while we traveled for work. We walked back from the bar to the women's house which was much closer to the bar. I was stuck sleeping in a little kids room with a tiny bed (they were furnished vacation rental places) across the hall from a woman in an adult sized room. The woman across the hall called…

Messy/sloppy/lazy/incapable of cleaning. I've done my own laundry since I was 13. In all of my relationships, I'm the one cleaning everything, keeping things neat and tidy, while my partner did/do little to nothing to clean or straighten up.

Not sure where this happened, but where I am, consenting to sex as a man is the same as consenting to be a father. If you are a man and you have sex with a woman, you are basically consenting to 18+ years of financial support. Even if you wore a condom. Even if you pulled out. Even if you used spermicidal lube. Even if you had a vasectomy. Even if she was on birth control. Even if she isn't ovulating. Even if she said she was on birth control. Even if she said she would have an abortion. (Oddly,…

I don't know how people sustain that - working 10-12 hours every day, then coming home to cook, clean, and take care of kids. I've been doing it for a year now and I'm at my wit's end, trying to keep it together.

The reality is once a woman is pregnant, she alone decides. Her decision may or may not be influenced by anything the father says or does. It's up to her if the father has a role in deciding or not. I often wonder if this is why abortion rights are so hotly debated. The way things are now - for men, choosing to have sex (protected or otherwise) is the same as choosing to be a father. For women, these are two separate choices. My guess is a lot of men want a level playing field in that decision -…

The lesson here is simple - if you are a man that thinks they have just become a father, get a paternity test. If the child's mom doesn't like it, either she'll get over it, or it's not your child. From the stats quoted, it seems like you have a 10% chance of avoiding a life altering catastrophic mistake or a 90% chance of wasting a small sum of money. This is something women can't understand because they don't have to deal with it. When they become a mother in the traditional sense, it's very c…

I agree. All the articles and slogans that target a specific gender look and feel like identity politics to me. Our team rules - to hell with your team. Why can't the future be female and male and non-binary and trans and etc? Why can't we teach every kid to be aware of their surroundings, to treat people with respect, and to keep themselves safe? I understand what you're saying. I was just providing a scholarly article that identifies similar chemicals and their effects. It isn't important to me that this comes from a left leaning news source, but it is important to me that we are at 5,000 times the limit of what is considered safe exposure to BPA.

For those that are skeptical about the source, see the link below for a scientific paper about the effects of these and similar chemicals. If there is a shred of truth to the Guardian article, then we should all (men and women) be concerned. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7139484/ Any ideas how we might avoid ingesting this type of chemical? Whether it be from plastics, hormonal birth control, or the various other chemicals with similar effects.

Sure they are. I think it's commendable that you work so much and so hard in a challenging field. That's not what the wage gap discussion is about, though. It's about large numbers of workers, not an individual case. The wage gap (if it were real) would be illustrated by a male nurse and a female nurse with the same experience and job title, but different pay. That's not often reality though, if ever. And when it is, it's discriminatory. Reality is that on average, the male nurse will likely wor…

If men held a protest to say they should be able to return at 64. I like to think many women would show up. The optimist in me says maybe, but the realist says I kind of doubt it. Men deserve the same rights as women and taking those rights from women doesn't help men at all. This I can agree with.

When taken as a whole, what you're saying in several posts is understandable, but I think it is misguided. I also think the message was lost due to people going on the defensive. Men earn more than women. That should figure into the pension/retirement somehow. Women work less than men. That should figure into the retirement/pension somehow. When it comes to the age of retirement, you're arguing semantics, though. Women were protesting raising the age of women's retirement. They were not protesti…

You hit the nail square on the head, especially with the bonding. I feel like the memories you recalled could have been plucked from my brain. The root of the problem is somewhere else, as the OP mentioned - material conditions causing anguish, and bonding that isn't recognized or communicated easily. While therapy and physical displays of affection have their place, they are a miniscule sliver of the solution. The key point is there is a problem to be addressed, the symptoms of which are thrown…

It really is dizzying to read anything on that subreddit. At first I thought it was parody, that they were being tongue in cheek, or going for some sort of humor. The terminology just comes off that way. It's not humor though; it's a forum for openly teaching women to be manipulative, abusive, dismissive, exploitative, derogatory, rude, and frigid, all under the guise of effective dating help. The best strategy is to find the right person and avoid all of that nonsense. My advice is to be patient when it comes to seeking out a partner. I know the overwhelming urge to have sex. You have to resist it. Be cautious. Be very very careful about who you are intimate with, who you flirt with, and who you have sex with. Find someone that cares about you, that you could see spending time with. Be selective, but also try looking in lots of places including the more serious dating apps. And if yo…

I find it strange that there is very little mention of the children's father. They make mention of the murderer's husband finding the bodies. Otherwise, not much else is said about him I can't imagine how much he must be hurting, assuming he was a loving husband and father. Can you imagine? First and foremost, thank you for taking the time to put this post together. My dad used to say "you're tall enough as long as your legs are long enough to reach the ground." (Apologies if this is insensitive to some). If a woman tells you you're too short to date, tell them you aren't interested because they're too shallow. Your height or any of your physical features do not determine your worth. People are attracted to all kinds of different qualities. Sure, lots of women are attracted to taller men. You don't need to be attractive to lots of women. You need to be attr…

The comparison used for the wage gap is this simple (and reductive). Take the sum of all earnings made by men and divide it by the total number of men. Then compare it to the sum of all earnings made by women and divide it by the total number of women. Now divide the women's number by the men's number. Now take one minus that number. That's what is known as the "gender wage gap", often quoted around 30 cents difference between what men and women are paid. There's no thought given to how women ar…

We're in the US. She was part time doing about 30hrs per week at a small store - didn't have health insurance through her employer. It depends on the game/developer/publisher. There are definitely developers out there pushing for wokeness, which doesn't really bother me. I'm talking about the edgy one liners about men being scum or useless or messy or lazy when I say man-hating. It's hard because they're realistic things that people might feel and say in situations shown in games. I'll have to think back for some examples. As far as the softcore porn stuff in games - there are entire genres that are basically porn.

I did most of my gaming in the 90s and early 00s. Then there was a long period away from gaming, until about 2012 when I started getting back into it in earnest. In my experience, it's nice to see things have progressed away from basic tropes (rescue the princess, super hot babe with zero personality or story arc, etc). Then again, Kerrigan was a pretty deep and powerful character back in StarCraft. So in some ways, things have improved. Nowadays, things are all over the place. Some games are a …

I've always wanted to point that out. Even in the US, I would imagine men spend an appreciable amount of time focused on the security of the home, including time spent checking out weird sounds, keeping doors and windows locked, maintaining and cleaning weapons, confronting intruders and thieves, etc. Security requires constant vigilance, and I doubt it is easy to quantify this. I'm assuming you're in the United States - call the number on the insurance card and ask to speak to a representative. Tell them you've never had medical insurance and you have no idea how it works. They'll probably start you off by finding a primary care physician in your area.
