Yes and the rebuttals that Steven has offered are sound (Nicholas Nassim Taleb did a better job) I am referring to the principles behind feminist ideas, not the way it has been implemented.

Crime is horrific. Women get brutally raped - "out of the bushes", as you would put it - and generally men are disgustingly lascivious towards them, in a way that actually makes one sympathetic to feminist ideas (there is a huge demographic difference with respect to these attitudes, if you feel me). But a stroll on a university campus paints the kind of picture that you are describing. 100% PC paranoia.

Come for a holiday in South Africa and we'll see about that. In any event, you have to compute the EXPECTED VALUE in these situations. Yes, the probability that Ted Bundy is paying for your cappucino is miniscule, but if it is, your life is over. And the fear of such events is reason enough for feminist movements to exist. But again, I issue the caveat: it has verged into paranoia.

Sorry my bias is towards science - not really involved in commerce all that much. But even then you have to admit that using it for non-commercial purposes is only an inch away from intellectual castration.

Why on earth would you lift weights in the first place? To make yourself attractive to women,so that you can delight when you turn them down? Get your priorities right. There are problems in the world that need solving, and if your personal contribution amounts to picking things up aggressively, you really need to have an existential crisis or two.

It's about clearing up deeply ingrained misconceptions. The process of giving up on the thing that you are taught to value more than anything else is not easy or comfortable. What is the point that you are trying to get at? That we are just hurt and spiteful, secretly pining for the woman that did us wrong? That we take refuge in sweeping generalizations about women to soothe our broken egos? It's a gradual process of debugging, and we help each other through it.
