I don't do it for other people, I do it for me. I like having an aesthetically pleasing place, and I work from home a lot so I don't want to live in a boring looking apartment. Literally every person that has been over has commented on how good it looks, which admittedly I don't hate hearing. Interior design is just something I enjoy, and always have.

Solid advice. I really only wear t-shirts one or two months of the year. Being in New England, we have very short and mild summers for the most part. When I first picked up a few graphic tees, mostly to lounge around in, I had never really planned on wearing them out. To be honest, I threw one on Friday because I wasn't planning on meeting anyone that night and just wanted something light to wear while being in a stuffy bar, also had put off doing laundry. Oddly enough, she commented on it sayin…

Hah, fair point, but I feel like I should specify that I'm not into anime and would never wear a shirt like that. Most of the time I wear a nice, plain colored dark button up. If I do wear a t-shirt, I'll get something with some art/design on it just to break it up a bit. It fights the style I have, which is generally darker clothing to begin with. I rarely wear stripes, checkers, or any sort of pattern. The types of t-shirts I might wear would be something like the things you see on DesignByHum…

That's not the experience I have had, but your mileage may vary. I have a high success rate with sleeping with women I go on dates with, and it is generally easier and less threatening for her to meet in public first than to go straight to your place. I think it also depends what you're looking for. I'm not really interested in one night stands, so I don't invite girls straight to my place if we've never met before. I'd rather meet people that I click with intellectually as well, because I prefe…

It is, but it is very difficult. You basically have to build a client base on your own and convince people to pay you for work. If you can get to that point, it is worth it, but I wouldn't recommend it to start. Work for a company for a few years and get experience, then try your own thing slowly.

Just so I'm understanding you correctly, I should be worried about Wilt Chamberlain walking into a bar in Cambridge and fucking the girl I'm seeing? How does that thought even cross your mind? In all honesty, in the one in a million chance that some celebrity shows up to the same venue and she wants to go home with home, good for her. I'd do the same thing with a famous actress if given the opportunity.

I agree, there are guys who absolutely do this. To each his own. That doesn't mean all women want that, and it definitely does not mean that all man can actually pull it off. If you're a good looking guy, great body, then yeah it isn't difficult. There are far more guys who look like shit, have horrible photos, and go straight for the "you trying to fuck?" line which turns a lot of women off.

Why would I be fucking Taylor Swift? I don't care that I'm not fucking the same women as professional athletes and actors. That's a fucking dumb comparison. The women I'm sleeping with aren't obese single mothers either, I just don't care that they're not perfect 10's. They're attractive and cool people, and I'm fine with that, because no one on this sub and less than 0.1% of the male population is regularly fucking the type of women you're talking about. So no, they aren't your competition.

This sort of thing just doesn’t cross my mind and you guys obsess over it. She messaged ME. I invited her to come out and she did. I invited her to come back to my place and she did. I made a move and she went with it. Why do I care that some better looking guy out there exists, and she could have hypothetically went to his place instead? There’s always someone better. So the fuck what? Right now, she chose me and wants to fuck me. At some point she won’t want to anymore. I don’t care. Just make…

I would look into a full-stack course. This teaches you both front-end and back-end development. Ruby on Rails is pretty common and marketable for back-end development, while Javascript is king for the front. An ideal course would consist of something like Ruby, Rails, Javascript, React, and some HTML/CSS to fill it out. React seems to be the hot thing right now (a Javascript framework) and there are plenty of jobs where all you do is code on React.

I think you notice this more as you get older. Guys who are lazy in their 20's generally stay that way as they age, and it catches up to you. You can live an inactive lifestyle when you're young and still stay in decent shape, but eventually you'll start to put on weight. The dad bod stereotype exists for a reason.

In major cities, there are plenty of single women my age and even more so younger. I generally meet/date girls 3-6 youngers than me, but have met some quality women around my age as well. I know the assumption here is always that they're "post wall" women who are looking to tie a guy down and all that. Some women don't want kids and marriage, and for some reason people here don't seem to understand that. I know women who focus on their career first and don't want to get married, although admitte…

Boston is a fairly large tech city, so high salary jobs are common if you know how to program. I can't speak for other cities though, and I don't know what the job market is like in EU in regards to that.

I never said that was the case. People, especially in major cities, are a lot more health conscious now and I meet more and more people who are vegetarian, vegan, etc. My point is that you don't want to cook her something that she doesn't eat. Was that point not obvious?

Yeah I would recommend getting one of the oven safe thermometers that you stick into the meat. You can set a temperature and it will beep when it hits that temp.

These can be fixed or circumvented. Height doesn't matter as much as guys think, it will just make online dating more difficult (which shouldn't be your primary focus anyway). Impress them in person instead. If you're balding, shave your head, grow a beard, and wear clothes that match that style. Get some tattoos if that fits. If you have a small dick, learn how to eat a girl out, read She Comes First and Sex God Method, and getting her to come back won't be an issue. At one point I had a woman …

If you live in a progressive city, like Boston, you will see these guys around - more if you're in the financial district, less if you're in Southie. They exist, there's no denying that, but there's an assumption that all of them are single, straight, and on the market. Many of them get tied down to relationships, because they pull a smokeshow and she reels him into commitment. Many of them are gay, because gay men generally put more effort into looks and appearance than straight men. Some of th…

Simply being 6'3" doesn't put you in the top 10% of guys. Top percent of height, sure, but there are plenty of tall, goofy, lanky guys out there not getting laid because they're awkward. There's also short guys who pull chicks left and right. My brother is about 5'6" and has spent most of his life dating almost anyone he wants, because of the way he carries himself and his social status.

Sports are an extreme. What you're saying is hypothetical. It's the assumption that everyone who has a genetic advantage will work as hard as you do. They're not. Some are, sure, but not all.

I went to a small school in central PA, majored in Philosophy, and graduated with a C average. My first job out of school was pushing shopping carts for $10 an hour. I got offered $100k when I was 30 because of smart career decisions. It wasn't luck, I just worked hard.

This, exactly. What does a woman see when she walks into an apartment that is a mess and looks like shit? A guy who is a mess. Someone who doesn't put effort into little things that are easily doable is a guy who doesn't take bigger things seriously.

I made smart investments and took my career seriously when I was in my 20's. When I was 30, I was offered a six figure salary after gaining tech skills that are marketable. I was a philosophy major in college with a C average. My first job after college was pushing shopping carts at Costco. Everything that got me to where I am today are attainable online (i.e. learning how to program) for very little money. Udemy offers courses for $20 that teach you how to program.

No, I don't think a clean apartment and nice furniture make you more attractive on Tinder. They make you more attractive when a woman walks into your apartment. Good pictures that show you doing things, being social, and are taken with a good camera make you attract more women on Tinder. Women on Tinder don't know how much money I make. They can tell I do well financially when they see my place, but at that point it is sort of irrelevant because I have already done and said other things that mad…

It depends. If it’s someone new, ask her dietary restrictions first. You don’t want to cook steak for a vegetarian. Assuming she’s not, go with steak. Buy two steaks, the thicker the better. I like filets, but strip steak and ribeye are fine if you don’t want to drop the money on the more expensive cuts. Preheat your oven to 200 degrees and put a skillet on your stove, crank it up to high heat. Rub the steaks, both sides, with a cut clove of garlic (you should see the juices on the garlic), salt…

Yep. Most men can’t cook, let alone well. Not only is it impressive, but it’s one of the single smartest and most rewarding skills you can have in regards to your own health and finances. Doesn’t hurt that it ups your attractiveness ten fold.

I should be clear that I’m not advocating that you shouldn’t try hard. I think you should aim to excel in all things you do. My point is that the bar to do well is much lower than guys realize, to the point where simply the fact that you’re trying at all is often enough to impress women. Most men do next to nothing.

The author of the Sex God Method admitted to having a 5" dick, yet his book teaches you how to give women mind blowing sex regardless of the size of your dick. I think the major issue is that men focus on the physical, a lot of which comes from growing up and "learning" sex from watching porn, while sex is overwhelmingly more about the emotional/mental side for women.

You bring up an interesting point. I should specify that she is not necessarily against the idea of casual sex, she is turned off by it because of the experiences she has had with men in regards to it. Specifically, the casual sex she was having was so disappointing to her that she no longer desires it. It is not necessarily that she just wants a relationship. That being said, I don't doubt that she has some internal problems as well. Truth is, I don't really know her that well but she has alway…

I think you're missing the point here. This guy gets laid easily, yes. But he has a terrible sex life in terms of quality. Women want to leave his place as soon as the sex is over because of how awful it is. Is that really the kind of sex and reputation you want? Anyone can memorize lines and routines and get laid. Anyone can act cocky. The issue is that it is not actually congruent with who he is. He likes the fact that he is having sex more than the actual sex. He literally sleeps with women j…

I think there's a mix between the women you're describing and the ones I am describing. There are definitely women out there having casual sex, and there are also women who aren't (even if they aren't in a relationship). I don't know that I would say bad sex is better than no sex when it comes to women, because many of them have horrible experiences that make them not want to pursue casual sex. I honestly believe that one of the reasons women put "no hookups" or "looking for a relationship" on t…

I actually know an attractive woman who hasn't had sex in two years. She could fuck almost anyone she wanted, but was just turned off by the way most men handle casual sex and relationships. People here need to get off this idea that every single remotely attractive girl is constantly fucking guys just because they can. Many of them have more or less removed themselves from the sexual market because it has been so disappointing to them. This weekend I'm meeting up with a 25 year old who hasn't h…

He's an attractive guy, which I think has actually worked against him in this case. Sex was much easier for him than for other guys, so he was never really forced to put any effort into it. I would guess that he never had that need to actually be good at it because he knew he could sleep with someone else the next time he went out. The downside is that women almost never sleep with him more than once, and he now has a reputation for being horrible in the sack.

I actually do know a guy like this. Acts cocky and confident, when he’s masking insecurity. He sleeps with a lot of women. He also has a reputation for being horrible in bed. I’ve heard at least three women talk about how he was one of the worst lays they’ve ever had, with one girl saying “all I wanted to do afterwards was leave”. Most of these girls were attractive. He’s sort of established himself as the leader of his group, has a lot of social connections. Very personable and funny guy. But s…

One thing to keep in mind, and this actually works in your favor, is that many women aren’t having sex as often as they would like to and are dissatisfied with the quality of sex they’ve had. I’ve met women who have basically just given up trying to date because they’re disappointed in the selection of men out there. Sure, the absolutely stunning women out there have their pick of high value men. But your normal, every day cute girl often times isn’t pursuing men as much as one might think. Ther…

Good post, but I hope that readers keep these things in mind in a healthy way. You can be a top 20% man without really realizing it, and many men fall under this category and still fail in dating. I work in tech, and know plenty of guys who earn well over $100k, are above average height, decent shape, have some cool hobbies, and still do not date the women they want to, or any women at all, because they do not know how to talk to women. On the other side of this, there are men who don't reach th…

I’d say do what you want. If you want to meet new girls, then do it. If you’re in a position where working on yourself first will help to attract higher quality women later, I’d probably go with that. After going through a pretty big improvement cycle myself, the feeling of pulling girls I couldn’t have before more than makes up for the time I wasn’t hitting on them.

Sorry for the late response. It isn't a shit test, she is engaging you in a more meaningful conversation. Wouldn't you rather have her express herself in deeper ways than just say "yeah the beach is fun". This is a good thing when she's doing this - she's interested in what you're saying, and wants to tell you more about herself in return. It means you're doing well.

Just delete social media. It’s not worth it, especially if you’re using it obsess over these girls. If you’re really into her, is looking at pictures of her with her ex boyfriend going to help you? After a fairly short amount of time you won’t even miss it, and women tend to wonder and pry more about a guy that’s not on social media. It sort of lends to the mystery a bit.

Good point here. It is important to spend time in a variety of ways with her, experiencing new things together, but you also need time to do your own things. I think women often get bored with guys who have nothing else going on in their lives. He’s always available, he’s not independent, and he doesn’t pursue anything outside of her. This kills attraction very fast.

Your title says "Speak with emotion and confidence". Yet you focus nearly all of your post on the conversational aspects instead of on this. Right, the post is about conversations. I think plenty has been written about how to stand, how to touch a woman, holding eye contact, etc., and I didn't feel like it needed to be reiterated. I wanted to keep this relatively concise, because a lot of guys come here asking about "what to say" and "I don't have anything to talk about". Smirking isn't going to…

You're right, there is a lot more to it than what is in this post. This was mainly just a primer for guys who want to have better initial interactions with women. Actually maintaining that attraction after the first few hangouts is a different beast. It sounds like you don't have a problem getting women interested in you and sleeping with them initially, but that the interest fades shortly after. There's a lot of reasons this could happen, and its a big enough topic that deserves its own post (s…

Sure. I try to ask questions that result in some sort of emotional response, rather than generic questions that she gets asked all the time. You do, generally speaking, want to start the conversation with some basic "get to you know you" type of questions, but you really don't want to linger on them too long. Some example questions I might ask: "What scares you?" (follow this with a comforting statement - "yeah, bungee jumping freaks me out") "Are you passionate about anything?" (can be said wit…

I get what you're going for here, but I think that is a really hard metric to measure. A girl that is worth dating for me might not be a girl that is worth dating for you. There are a multitude of factors that go into something like this. For example, I live in Boston. The male to female ratio here is skewed in my favor. On top of that, the types of things that women pursue are often very different than the types of things that men pursue. In Boston, the vast majority of men can be put into one …

This is pretty much spot on. I think these examples were the original intentions for the words, but they've been bastardized a bit. You see it more in AskTRP, where guys will say things like "Is this alpha?" or "What's the alpha response here?". There seems to be this notion that there exists this perfect alpha male out there that we should all idolize, who does everything right and speaks the word of God while banging 6 chicks every night after he just benched 400 pounds. The situation you are describing is probably fairly similar to what I am talking about. To be more specific, I generally don't try to sleep with women the same night I meet them, but will on the first or second "date". I don't go out with the intention of bringing someone home is all, and I think some people describe this as "outcome independence"? I'm not sure what the term is. If the chemistry is there and you both want to - then great, by all means. I just typically do not push for sex the sa…

To be more specific, I am advocating against being a goofball. You know the kind of guy I'm describing. Always cracking jokes, usually overweight, and he ends up having a fucking breakdown when he's drunk because no one actually takes him seriously. I make women laugh all the time, but it is peppered into serious conversations to break it up a bit or to make fun of them. Sly humor may be what I'm trying to describe. Making women laugh is one of the most powerful things you can do.

Thank you for saying that. I'm glad my post was helpful. I was hoping it would resonate with some of the guys who seem to be frustrated with dating and expressing themselves, which often leads to a hatred of women. I have been there, believe me. After time, and I think some of the older guys here may agree, you learn to accept the differences between the sexes and can start to really enjoy the experiences you have with them.

I don't speak this in depth about everything, just the things I care and know a lot about. Even then it may be short and concise. You don't want to lecture. The Barnes Museum happens to be one of my favorite places (I was there opening week), so it is something I will speak more on because it is special to me. Being "mysterious" is extremely subjective, however, and I would not advocate talking a minimal amount just to try to give off that persona. I don't text a lot during the day, I'm not on s…

For the "exercises" I gave, I recommended fleshing it out to 3-5 sentences when you are talking about why you like something. You don't want to talk about your favorite movie for an hour. It is better to give a clear, well thought out response in a few sentences than it is to ramble for 10 minutes about the same subject. One easy way to keep the conversation moving is to turn the attention to her after you give a strong opinion. More specifically, if you want to avoid generic "what do you like" …

Try not to think about it as being polarizing just for the sake of being polarizing. It is ok to agree with people on things, and to also push back when you don't. They key take away is to not be a pushover, which is what I emphasized with: A lot of guys are under the assumption that you need to always find things in common, only speak positively, and agree with everything she is saying. Thank you for adding this, I agree completely. So many guys focus on what they should say and seem to overlook how they are saying it. I appreciate that. If people like what I'm writing, I would certainly contribute more often. The sub has taught me a lot, even if I don't agree with it all completely.

I'll edit this for clarity. Each of these Me/Her were separate occasions, not one continuous conversation. And yes, it works. Saying something like "I'd do gay stuff to you" as a reply gives you the ability to deflect it as a joke if she doesn't take it well, but most of the time you'd get a response like "haha is that right?"

Alright, I’ll take a crack. I see in another comment that your passion is football. Don’t fucking talk about football to a girl you’re trying to impress. You know why? Because every single guy on the planet likes football and they’re sick of hearing about it. Truth is, it doesn’t matter that much what you like. What matters is that you feel strongly about certain things and are able to express that. I tend to have girls get very emotionally invested in me very quickly. I met a girl Friday night …

Exactly. It also moves you to silent meditation over time, with the goal to be able to do it without the app. It’s perfect for beginners. Edit: typo

Kind of a weird comparison, considering water is the most important thing to drink. If you were trying to get in shape, would you drink lots of soda and alcohol because you didn’t want to drink water? This is essentially what you’re trying to do - make money without working.

Yeah you can absolutely put on muscle on Keto, albeit at a slower rate than a high protein diet. Keto requires about 70% caloric intake from fat, and about 25% from protein, so in general it is a lower protein intake diet. It just makes it a bit slower to put on muscle than a high calorie/protein/carb diet, but not impossible by any means.

Buy the test strips if you’re doing Keto. You can get a 50 pack on amazon for like $6. It’s not effective if you aren’t in ketosis so you need to monitor it to make sure.

You also need to stick to a diet for a period of time before you start to see the benefits. “Shopping around” week to week on different diets is going to constrain any benefits you see, especially for specialized diets like Keto. Your body is quite literally going into a different state than it normally would be in order to burn fat, and it needs time to get there and adjust. Source: I work for a dieting company, just so you don’t think I’m talking out of my ass.

I would really avoid water fasting, juice cleanses, and all those other gimmicky “lose weight fast” approaches. They’re unsafe, horrible for your body, and you’re just going to gain weight back as soon as you eat normally again. I’d recommend a Paleo approach with heavy protein intake if you’re lifting weights, or a Keto approach if you’re sticking mainly to cardio. Just keep in mind that something like Keto is mainly focused on fat loss and can be tough to gain muscle on, mainly due to the fact…

You’re not wrong, and this would probably work, but I would really be cautious about advocating drinking as a solution for almost anything. This is a really easy way to develop a habit of relying on alcohol to deal with your problems, which can quickly escalate into a much bigger problem.

Like others have said, doing things on your own is going to be the biggest help for you right now. When I moved 8 hours away to a new city, it was pretty overwhelming at first. Your best bet is to start a new hobby like rock climbing, BJJ, etc., while still doing all the other things that you should be doing anyway - lifting, eating healthy, time management, and so on. You'll be surprised how much more independent you feel when you start doing simple things on your own like paying bills. You wil…

Not every minute of every day needs to be devoted to self improvement. I’m trying to understand how helping others from time to time is seen as a waste, when it can often be very rewarding (on top of helping to reinforce what you know - in this case math). I guess charity work is a waste of time as well, according to your logic?

If you agreed to help her with math, you could also just do that without trying to fuck her. Not sure why every fucking encounter on this sub has to be boiled down to “lol orbiter”. FFS just be a decent human and help her get better grades if she’s struggling and you’re not.

I always wanted to drive an Infiniti after taking a ride in one when I was 20. My first job after college was pushing shopping carts at Costco for $10 an hour. For some reason I decided to go to the Infinity dealership and test drive one, which only made my desire to have it even higher. I sat down with the salesman and saw the monthly payments. After telling him how much I made, he made it very clear I could not afford it. Needless to say it was humiliating. Fast forward a few years. I had knoc…

A week is a short time to make a big decision like that, especially if you’ve been together close to a year and she has all the great qualities you listed. That being said, don’t ignore your feelings if they continue. Try to figure out exactly why you’re feeling this way, and if it will go away if you dump her. While I don’t want you to make a rash decision, it is important to listen to your gut feelings, and as someone who had similar feelings and let them go on for months and months - I wouldn…

I think the point is more that sometimes what’s “in” does look best. Keep in mind that at one point in time, the 80’s for example, outfits that look ridiculous by today’s standards were actually what looked good. Styles change, people adapt, and you can often look back on previous trends and laugh at what you thought looked great at the time (baggy jeans and oversized t-shirts comes to mind). Staying current helps a lot imo.

A guy is generally clueless, comes to a forum for male self improvement seeking advice over something he genuinely doesn’t understand, and gets called autistic by a bunch of edgy internet trolls repeating the same joke. Well done TRP, really. Look dude it was probably nothing. It’s easy to over analyze these things when you’re not sure what’s happening. Next time just introduce yourself, say hi, whatever. See how she reacts and go from there. If she smiles immediately and seems happy to talk to …

The only person that cares is you. You may be a bit insecure with yourself if you’re feeling embarrassed, but that is fairly normal. No one is looking at you, I promise, and I’m telling you that from the perspective of a bisexual guy. People are there to work out and then leave.

Are you planning on going to college? If so, just buckle down until then. None of this shit will matter when you’re in college because you can to into as anyone you want to be. High schoolers are petty, jealous, immature, and love to hold grudges. I’d say ride it out until you graduate and find a new social circle, which won’t be an issue in university (especially if you’re going into it in shape with a cocky/funny attitude). Just establish yourself early on as a sexual, fun, outgoing person in …

Like most aspects of dating, it probably depends on the person. For me, the most important aspect of cooking is that I can make the foods that I want and need, and that I’m learning more as I go on. Having a partner that can cook as well is great, because it helps split up the work. That being said, very few people these days seem to know how to cook anything besides very basic meals (microwave, pasta, eggs). Point being, you’re more likely than not going to end up meeting people who can’t cook …

Have a similar friend as well. I only get to see him every couple months. The other week we grabbed dinner and every 10 seconds his phone buzzes, so he picks it up and replies while I’m in the middle of saying something, only to ask me to repeat it again. After an hour I finally asked him if it’s that fucking important to respond to everything, and his response was that his girlfriend doesn’t trust him when he’s out and wants to know what he’s doing. He said they’re building trust again or some …
