Neither did he by the looks of it I'm sure part of him wanted to put this hand down then the slap just came out like an exhale.

Isn't this like significantly illegal? Recording people without their permission is one thing but this seems like it's significantly worse.

Doesn't the entire basis of her argument assume that mass murdering children is glorious?

Tell her you're married and would appreciate it if she didn't do it again. If she does then report her. Everyone deserves the benefit of the doubt.

You don't know if I'm circumcised or not. I haven't stated. I can still argue for the logical position if I am intact or not. But if I say that I would have to arrive at a consensus with the mother of a child before agreeing to circumcise a child I am justifying it so I feel complete? Then why are you taking an indefensible position? I've taken no position. I understand the decision to let an adult make an informed decision, but I also respect a parent's decision to decide what is best for their…

That's what I mean, why does the child not get a say in whether he gets to keep his foreskin or not? It is his body. See this is the tough part. I do think the kid should have a decision on his body but the parents should be able to make a decision on what they feel is good for the child. If parents think deeply about circumcising their child and come to a consensus, I don't think I could fault them for either one. Do you think parents should get to tattoo their children? What about gender-reass…

This is true there are risks. I think it should be discussed as publicly as abortion.

This makes a good deal of sense. Thank you for your input. I had nothing to the contrary to say. You're a good father.

The penis does not always function. There can be severe scar tissue. There can be such deep circumcision that the erections become painful. There can be indentations in the glans. Some men have had parts of the penis removed completely [or the entire thing.] This is sad and true, but there are also complications with leaving a foreskin causing a man to have to get a circumcision later in life. No procedure is 100% effective and neither is nature running its course. You are trying to justify this…

I'm not justifying it through my experience, I simply do not feel strongly against the procedure, nor am I inclined to do it. It's something that needs to be a decision between the parents.

Once again this comparison is baseless. You having a limb maimed is not circumcision. Being an amputee drastically affects your social life. Being circumcised is only known when you are in a sexual relationship and it makes you normal (in america). Unless you live in a nudist colony only people you allow to see your penis know about your circumcision. If you are missing a finger or toe its not the same.

I understand completely and I respect your decision, but I feel like the decision would need to be between the mother and I. I have no problem with it either way. I feel like the decision to circumcise a child needs to be unanimous for a particular reason between the parents. The default is of course leaving the child intact, I just don't feel a strong enough conviction to say I could never see myself having the child get the procedure done.

That is how things are, but that does not make it right. That is what we are discussing here, not whether its technically legal. I understand completely and I can't argue for or against it in terms of the procedure being ethical. If I ever had a child the decision to circumcise him would be a collaborative decision between the mother and I. I would have to be in that situation before I justified any decision. That part of you is there for a reason. An amputee may grow up not missing his left foo…

I'm infringing on nobody's rights. If the government outlaws circumcision I will not miss the procedure, but as long as the procedure is legal it's as much the parents choice to circumcise their child as it is their choice to pierce their ears. Fact of the matter is the procedure is religious and cosmetic by nature, and most people end up having it done to their kids. The concept of circumcision doesn't bother me, I've been circumcised and I know it has not affected my life.

But a penis still functions after a circumcision. Your comparison completely maims someone. I get it man I do. I just... I know what it's like to live circumcised and I consider myself normal in every regard. I don't think a lubricated penis tip, a retractable foreskin, and a broader range of sensation would change anything about that. But yes we can agree maiming a child is child abuse.

I personally don't care about this issue. I was circumcised for religious reasons, I don't share these ideologies with my mom but it ultimately doesn't matter. I do not miss my foreskin or have a sense of longing for something I never knew. Until there is a law passed outlawing circumcision it's the parents decision to do so.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
