I read it, it could be some things got mixed around in my noggin. That happens. My opinion is that men perform masculinity based on lots of things, especially social expectations. Its normal to feel like theres a lot of mixed signals in a global environment like the internet. Theres tons of bad apples in feminist circles; i dont think anyone would disagree. Following your authentic self is hard for everyone when cultural norms try and pull you every which way. I dont think theres any wrong way t…

Society is literally formed from what people think "should be" so while I agree with your premise its a good idea to deconstruct the boxes people put themselves in. My definition of masculinity makes me feel physically and emotionally safe. My definition is also a man who is self aware of their own faults and able to take criticism. This might be a better conversation if it was about society's examples of the sexes.

Genuinely, I'm a little confused by how things are worded. Could you rephrase?

Wooow because that's exactly what I said right? Lol 😆 Masculinity can be a wonderful thing. I'm attracted to a man who has drive, direction and is decisive. Who is confident and secure. However, patriarchal standards have warped what those things mean person by person as a social definition.

And I said that toxic masculinity is about over-defensive aggression in sex based spaces like dating or feeling like your sexuaity is being threatened. Most feminists agree with those things being examples of toxic masculinity and I dont see many using others.

No? Its stuff like being hyper defensive against any gay joke or implication you aren't secure in your sexuality. Its the men who have beaten or killed trans women who have revealed themselves at the "wrong time". Its the men who always think violence is the answer because they are emotionally unavailable.

Sounds like you dont even know the kind of masculinity that is toxic. Think a little harder and then come back.

Its weaponized incompetence when you tell someone the reason why you do things (like separating stretchy athletic clothing from towels; it ruins the longevity of both) and they still don't listen. Oh, but they deny they ignore you. Bedding with underwear, why not? Who needs trash bags in the cans anyways? Its not like we all benefit from it, right?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
