my professor has a doctorate degree and lectures the entire class of 300 people, my teaching assistant/lab instructor/whatever you want to call her teaches a smaller subdivision of the entire class and isn't an actual professor. She just teaches labs, oversees tests and does all the grading for her group, which is closer to a normal class size of about 30-40 people.
