When I started this in September, I was 265lbs at 6' 2". Running a mile was awful. I carry a large frame, but I was horribly out of shape. It got easier after a while, but I held onto weight for a long time. Now, I'm 230. Run times are fast and getting better. I do a 45 minute kettlebell circuit and tabata training. Think of it like a whiskey. No, not the woman, but the act of romanticizing them. A woman doesn't get better with age. A good whiskey is good every now and again, right? You develop the taste, you enjoy it. You're certainly not going to drink it all the time, but you're willing to give in and savor a nice glass of it every once and a while. Try one out, they're pretty fun. The longer races (beast, etc) can get a little challenging, but the training is what makes it fun. Set a goal, prepare, complete that goal. That's what it's all about.
