Ok so the judge in the real life case basically considered the sperm 'property' of the husband, which could therefore be inherited from him in the same way that her wife also inherited his assets and property and whatever. I remember covering this in Medical Ethics a month ago, had quite an argument over it - I was pro not-harvesting but there were some interesting arguments on the other side too. I should note that if this is the same case I studied then she never actually chose to harvest the sperm, she fought for it in court and decided against it.

I'm not a big fan of that theory to be honest. She was still well loved by the royal family and especially the British public (The Queen even suggested she keep the title 'Your Highness' after divorce). I've heard the royals supposedly wanted their image preserved as she was dating a Muslim but assassinating a loved public figure isn't exactly the best way to go when trying to preserve your image

I'd say very little is applicable, a lot of stuff is held by trusts or the government, yet more is owned by the 'Royal Family' or the crown as legal entities, neither of which you can divorce. Besides, let's face it, any judge that dares give her one ounce of royal property is getting lynched on the spot. Diana got a pretty sweet lump sum and annuity (17M lump, 400K annual) but nothing else
