So an assumption. You don't know if any of that is true, you just believe it is. And what's more, if I gave you counter-examples, you'd hamster dismiss them as "exceptions" or claim "they just haven't cheated yet". So not only is your assumption based on faith but it's impossible to disprove. What exactly is the point of discussing it then?

Those are subjective opinions. "AWALT" is an assumption presented as a fact. Facts require evidence.

Marriages have always favoured men. The no-fault divorce clause hasn't changed that, it's just made it easier for women to get out of unhappy marriages. I'm going to go on a limb and guess that if you are constantly on the lookout for your wife cheating/leaving/shit-testing you then your marriage isn't happy and it will fail. Thanks to you. You are the reason, not "all women". I'm not downvoting anybody.

That's an assumption for which there is no evidence and which hurts trust in relationships. Healthy relationship rely on trust, it's like the basic building block. Jealousy and possessiveness on the other hand are major turn offs to practically everyone. So what really happens is, your SO gets sick of your constant controlling attitude or catches you snooping her phone and dumps you. To you it looks like you caught her red-handed and so you write her off as a branch swinger. This is a self-fulfi…

No... that's not how anything works. Example: God exists. Prove that it doesn't, or agree with me. Example: You raped me. Prove that you didn't, or turn yourself in.

Not how burden of proof works.

Women have their female friendships which are very much like relationships on their own, so they are less likely to put up with a bad romantic relationship. Men usually have no one else but their SO for emotional support, so even an unhappy relationship to them is usually better than no relationship at all. And from what I've read about shit testing, that just sounds like a way to get to know a person and make sure you're dating an adult and not a Nice Guy™ or overgrown insecure manchild. Nobody…

How do you know I'm the exception and not the women you/redpillers date?

That strikes me as a little disingenuous. Why am I wrong in how I perceive men and you're correct in how you perceive women? I know a lot of women in ways few men ever can. We are not homogenous. Not even close. Your perception is based on how women act around you and how they're protrayed in media, and I'm sorry but that's a very limited experience. The difference is that I realise my experiences with men are limited and you pretend you know all there is to know about women. There is no strengt…

But that's not even true. I stayed in a horrible relationship for close to 3 years because I missed the person I was in love with in the beginning and wanted to "fix him". Hypergamous me would've dumped him the first time he made me cry myself to sleep. I'm not exactly shit-looking so I was never out of options. I was just so in love that I didn't act in my best interests. This is a thing I do. It's part of my personality. Maybe the women you (and red pillers) have dated are opportunistic when i…

What's wrong with what I said?

I can come up with about 5 explanations for that off the top of my head that don't involve AWALT.

I don't consider it a strength. More of a defensive strategy and a way to make exceptional men stand out more. But I'm fully aware that this is perceived and not actual homogeneity because I don't know men like men know each other.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/18 11:24 AM

No, I mean that almost all men are stronger than all women and it's a very uneven fight. Would you pick on a guy twice your size?

But if we do go physical and get the shit beat out of us, we've "been asking for it".

But not everyone conforms to their gender's norms, and we don't know how many of those things are imposed externally and are not the sexes' "natural tendencies".

What evidence is there that those behaviours are more common in women than in men?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/18 11:16 AM

From my female point of view, men look more homogenous than women. That's just an out-group bias.

There is no evidence that "women's innate hypergamic tendencies" is a thing that exists. It's based entirely on assumptions that are then made into a self-fulfilling prophesy ('she hasn't cheated yet because it's a temporary self-restraint'). It's a way to weasel out of being proven wrong, ever. I get that it's a "sexual strategy" but lots of people seem to take it as literally true and that probably affects their ability to build healthy relationships with women.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/18 11:14 AM

"Emotional thinking" doesn't only apply to women, and not to all women. Emotional personalities are more common in women but that doesn't mean it's a black and white thing. There's literally no evidence that hypergamy is a thing all women do. That's an assumption based on what redpillers want to believe. In simple English, they see women in unhappy relationships dump their SO and get together with someone else. Then they write it off as an example of hypergamy when that's just not the case. And …

But that doesn't mean all women would react in the same way, or that all women would seek revenge. I used to be pretty vengeful, too, but the most I would do is tell people I know what the person who hurt me is really like and warn them to be careful. I just couldn't stand watching them smile and laugh together, unsuspecting of their true nature. In my mind I was warning and protecting my friends. You can't tell me men don't do the same when they talk about "their crazy ex" or whatever.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/18 11:03 AM

Do you have evidence to support any of that?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/18 10:58 AM

Seems weird to phrase it like that and not just... "nobody is that perfect", "unicorns don't exist", or any of the other non-sexist ways. Because I'm noticing that men do take AWALT literally, as in literally all women are sociopaths at heart which is not just cynical but really damaging to building healthy relationships with women.

If I'm single and I really like him and I'm in the mood then sure. I imagine the same thought process applies to the guy.

Any examples to the contrary are either a temporary act of restraint, a result of direct or indirect coercion, or a trade-off for a significant amount of another SMV indicator. That... sounds like a very nice way to make it impossible to be proven wrong. It makes AWALT a self-fulfilling prophesy and makes it incredibly difficult for me to take any of it seriously.

Now that's just sad and I hope that's not what the people here really believe and are trying to avoid saying to my face.

OK, what is female nature then?

I don't know. I used to believe similar AWALT stuff when I was a teenager and I forced myself to not be "like the other girls" because I thought they were boring and shallow. It's really sad that we grow up indoctrinated to think femininity is bad or that women are somehow identical and it's cool to not be like the others. But ultimately it's something I grew out of, and many girls don't even have that phase. I think it'll be helpful to teach men to not put women on a pedestal without teaching t…

Because women are socialised to express aggression in different ways and sometimes it's the only way we can do it - we can't exactly go physical against men. I don't think that's a different way of thinking, it's just what's socially acceptable and common sense. I've seen a lot of men putting up with their shitty SO because they have no income or because they'd lose their support network or the only person who'd fuck them etc.

Women do things most men wouldn’t - or more accurately couldn’t. Their thought process is different. Do you have an example of that?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/18 01:53 PM

I take issue with all stereotypes! Positive stereotypes really hurt when you don't live up to them. And I'm not "making" this a gendered issue - AWALT already targets one gender. I understand now why red pillers are saying it and how it helps them think of women as flawed beings, but like I said in another comment this isn't a helpful way to go about it because it creates prejudice. You don't know what a woman is like before you've got to know her, only what she COULD be like. I think that's an …

That sounds more like "women are human beings". I'm glad that it helps men start thinking of women as people - silver lining!!! - but I don't think that's a helpful context (or age) to realise that. It breeds resentment.

Makes sense.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/18 01:21 PM
3

Oookay. That makes more sense and I can see how it could be helpful, but I don't think it's wrong to take issue with the wording. It's not like men don't flip out in response to generalisations or even words with 'man' in them. If we accept that AWALT is "a helpful assumption", then I think we should do the same for AMALT and similar generalisations about men. Orrr we can all be nicer and stop making generalisations altogether. :^)
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/18 01:20 PM
8

That just sounds like a different word for assumption? Ask different men, you'll get different opinions for how "all" women are, and I doubt most of them would be even "heuristically" true. Not to mention that every time a generalisation is applied to men, they collectively lose their shit and shout misandry and feminazi. Do you see the disconnect and why women take issue with AWALT?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/18 01:15 PM

That's not even true though! I've seen gorgeous women dating men way below their league. Sure, some of them are after money or status, But sometimes the guy is just charming and I know from experience that when I like someone he looks cute in his own way, despite his flaws. Similarly when I hate someone's guts, I instantly lose attraction no matter how hot he is, I just see a douchebag.

Okay, I'm sorry. Is there anywhere else I can go to actually have a discussion about this?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
