That's awesome dude. I started training in Chinese styles just over three years and a half years ago. I dropped a bunch of money up front; basically locking myself in for the foreseeable future at the time. Even so, there were days... hell months at a time (two separate times in fact) that I failed to show up. Some fucked up rationale that I missed last week, I'll just be embarrassed to show up this week type BS. It was only in the last year and a half that I really broke it down in my on head. …

I lift to fight, because that's how I train. Lifting is all about what you want. :D just saying.

While true a man can and should love himself more than a woman ever could, I feel the last statement is a very Cynical (yet popular, around here) approach. It's also said here than man is capable of truly selfless love, while a woman is not; "what's mine is mine, what's yours is ours" type behavior if you will. Just a thought.

Our school runs the Gamut (home account), Wing Chun, Hsing I, Mitsung, Tai Chi, Tiger-Crane, to name a few. It's set up so the underbelts get a proficient grounding in each, while attempting to spar within the style they are currently learning. It really gets interesting when you start mixing it up and higher levels.

Buy some bungies and hook them on stuff if you don't want to go to a gym. Get some rope and a few pulleys and 2x4s and build a pull down machine. Paint cans and five gallon buckets can be your weight. Build up and soon you will get there

Doubt it. I train five times a week, the people who are there are like a second family. Be sure to have fun with the workouts, help out new people (if that's cool where you go), and generally enjoy yourself. People see you having fun and want in on that feeling.

I normally bail the first time I'm "blown off" unless she tells me a really good story. The second time in a row it's over. No questions. I've had that since before I found TRP. Bullshit like that has always pissed me off. I will avoid the pua text game; I've learned from my own past experience that I'm really bad at it anyway and should avoid texts in general if possible. Thanks for the response.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
