Indelible Grace has some nice versions of old hymns with more contemporary music. Very nice sometimes. Sometimes they just make me yearn for the traditional tune or version.

To be fair, the article is written by Dieudonné Tamfu and not Piper. Not that it matters a ton to the actual conversation, just making sure the attribitions and/or injunctions on Piper are justified.

I’ve had Love and Respect recommended to me several times. Haven’t picked it up yet but one of my pastor’s did a marriage conference and Sunday school curriculum based on it recently.

This is an area I struggle with, not conceptually, but practically. I grew up with a pretty low image of myself. This was exacerbated by other's image of me. I have a minor ocular disability which limited (if not deleted) my ability to engage in sports, so i never had that going for me. My folks were lower middle class so we didn't have the stuff others had. All that jazz. The fallout from that, in my adult life is that I desire validation for pretty much everything. Even the Bible had ways to address this behavior. Numbers 30:3-16 says that if a girl makes a vow and Dad hears it and says nothing he agrees to the vow. If he says no, then the vow is void. Same system applies to husband/wife relationship. Some of you may be in a position to to overrule some agreements your wife has made, but I imagine others would get a pretty strong fitness test if we tried it.

US Southeast. Illegal or not, I've had three tell me they need wife's written consent or they won't perform. Forget about getting them to do anyone younger than 30 or so.

Without going into specifics, I'll own that I needed to learn a few things from the experience and I wasn't absolutely indispensable. I knew the product better than most there but could have managed myself and others better. Lessons learned. That being said, I couldn't make myself cheaper than overseas labor which is where they moved my department.
