Of course youth is primary factor, in both mating for children and attraction(both lead to physical fitness to create children or at least the act) I'm talking the majority, not some ridiculous outlier guy who has a fetish for a million things. But for mating reasons, males evolved to go after more youthful characteristics, because that led to healthier children. (I.e. mating with a 20 year old athlete woman, then a 60 year old sick woman). This is because looks attract significantly in patterns of physical youth=fertility from women, and a man is fertile his whole life, so his character is far more an indicator of strong male genes.
