Here's my two cents on drugs: Like everything in life, taking drugs is a trade-off between your short-term and your long-term quality of life. On one hand, drugs make you happier and they (arguably) temporarily improve your quality of life for a couple of hours, but on the other hand they also limit you and can have serious effects on your physical and mental health, especially when taken more regularly. There's also always the considerable risk of getting to one or multiple substances, which yo…

Oooh, witty comeback, keep 'em coming. Doesn't change the fact that you're spreading pseudo-scientific conspiracy theory bullshit. Nice try though.

Jesus Christ. Do you also believe that vaccines are poisonous or cause autism because there's Mercury in them? Because that's literally the same reasoning.

Don't start out big. Set yourself a small goal. A fan favorite seems to be waking up at the same time each day, and I have to agree that it makes a big difference. That one shouldn't be a big issue for you. Try to form positive habits that give you stability. When you finish a task, be sure to reward yourself. If you can't do it, don't punish yourself – learn from your mistake, forgive yourself, move on and strive to perform better on the next day. As for your perfectionism, I really can't give …

It can't show up on Front Page, can't be added to Multireddits and some other shit. Mainly it's just for advertisers, because they might find some stuff "offensive".

It got quarantined.

Completely missing the point. It's not about waking up at 7, it's about building a healthy habit, any habit. Waking up early is just an example.

Hamburg has some pretty decent clubs, plus it's arguably one of the nicest German cities if you're looking to see the country as well. Don't know how German girls respond to foreigners though, I'd be curious to read a field report about that though.

Just hard next if she's annoying? I don't even know why you're asking, you seem to know the correct answer to your question. If she keeps coming back and you don't want her to, just take measures to make sure she won't.

Just do what you want to do. If you want to grab some food, go grab some food. If you feel like visiting your favorite cocktail bar, do that. If you've gotten her number and you're communicating the details with her via text, be concise. If you're not sure what she wants, leave her a choice, but don't go "What would you like to do" – instead, you can ask "Chinese or Italian"? Everything else depends on the context. Generally, if she says no, take the L and move on. If she cancels, you can give h…

To be honest, I was considering writing a serious reply for a second until I realized that your comment really doesn't deserve a serious response. If you think TRP is only about masculinity, you are completely missing the point. More importantly though, if you think that's what masculinity is – acting like a cunt and talking tough to strangers while you're hiding behind an online nickname – I feel sorry for you. You sound pretty angry and insecure, clinging on to that very specific image of masc…

Read "How to Make Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie. Conversation is a skill that can be learned and trained. Time to git gud

It sounds fairly obvious to me that a lot of the commenters here have a very limited understanding of depression and anxiety, because I can attest that going to the gym and eating healthy might not just magically "cure your depression", although it may surely help. From someone who has struggled with these issues in the past as well: try to start out small by building habits. If you can't make it to the gym because of your anxiety, start working out at home. Your free membership is just that, a …

Conversation is a skill that can be learned, just as everything else. I'm a fairly introverted CS student as well and I have been training my communication skills a lot, to the point where I am trying to make "I am a CS guy that is great at communicating and giving presentations" my professional selling point; at parties, when people ask for my profession, I usually ask them to guess, and not a single one has guessed IT so far, so it seems to work. I think the best starting point for you is Dale…

I have been noticing the exact same process after swallowing the pill just over a month ago. Was wondering whether or not I should make a post about this, so it's a great thing that you did. Reading Marcus Aurelius "Meditations" has played a huge role for me in this – his "seeing things for what they are, beyond your perception" has been somewhat eye-opening for me. For anybody reading this who is currently in the transitioning period of TRP: never underestimate the power of books. For the first…

So first off, as a general rule of thumb, if you want others to put effort into helping you, put effort into your posts. If you want advice on specific topics, you can post to /r/askTRP. If you want advice about lifting and building strength, there are lots of ressources to be found on the appropriate subreddits. If you want to read on Power generally, there's lots of ressources in the sidebar. 48 Laws of Power and The Prince should be good starting points. Your second question is so illegible t…

Well, that was... unwarranted. LPT: when asking people for advice online, you probably shouldn't insult them.

Great post. Currently at the very start of my TRP journey and you gave me some valuable insight. Are there any books you can recommend me on the topic? Anything by Schopenhauer or about meditation or stoicism? Thanks a lot!
