5	I've lived my life as both male and female and have seen how each gender is treated first hand as both: AMA Yep, it's a fun addition to the vocabulary. For example, if your area is defined by a bridge, your side of town would be "cispontine" and across the bridge would be "transpontine". 3	"Primary-school education is a crock, basically. It's oppressive to anyone with physical energy, especially guys," pointing to an obvious example: the way schools have cut recess. "They're making a toxic environment for boys. Primary education does everything in its power to turn boys into neuters." The coastal cities represent the hegemonic culture in American society. These areas didn't have the long Puritan tradition associated with feminist strongholds. The Puritan tradition was necessary, in my opinion, for the moral prescriptivism and cultural assumption of greater feminine purity that motivates feminism in most of its manifestations. Even the more egalitarian forms operate off the assumption that women as a class have a unique experience of sexism and by this are qualified/obligated to take efforts toward the purification of society.
