Feminists somehow acknowledge men being expected to be breadwinners, stoic protectors and pursuers under "patriarchy hurts men too" while they simultaneously tell men their dating issues have nothing to do with society or women. I'm not very good at "being a feminist". Still. This is the exact opposite of what most women want. I do not date and will not for the foreseeable future... 1) ...but I'm distraught at the idea of a man I date making substantially more than I do. That's a dangerous situa…

Some foreign making statements about dating in the west, about western women, is bonkers. Why do you think this?

TBH - extreme right wing isn't a cathedral, good ole boys in a truck. They are there, but they don't represent the right-wing intelligentsia. Some of us are atheists, rebels, and have advanced degrees. We like secrets - theirs. I know this to be true, I have seen it for myself. My concerns are, for lack of better terminology, varied and profound. We fight not by power, force, or manipulation. We fight with flashlights. We witness, we remember, we tell. Honesty is the best policy. Biblical shit i…

think, as a parent, that it's reasonable to want the best outcome for your children, and to not want them to be disabled, diseased, or treated poorly because of lookism is normal/moral. Can you please elaborate on what you consider to be the ideal outcomes for children? And a followup question. If human beings have a subconscious bias toward physically attractive people, why would that make it moral? Or, if you don't find it moral, why would you then prioritize it over other traits, behaviors, o…

If that's your prerogative, then that's your prerogative. Everyone is free to abstain from passing on their genes. My stance is separate from this.

Are you saying that you think it's problematic or immoral to want your own children to look a certain way or to have certain heritable traits? Yes. I have my own personally informed reasons for thinking this. I would be fascinated to learn why you disagree, if you disagree. Or are you conflating the immorality of legitimate eugenicist practices with caring about that sort of thing? I think the colloquial usage and my usage here are related but separate phenomena. The colloquial usage is larger i…

To me there's no meaningful distinction to be made in terms of intent to manipulate. The only difference is the relative level of power that the person has.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/04/25 04:33 PM

From wikipedia: eugenics juːˈdʒɛnɪks the study of how to arrange reproduction within a human population to increase the occurrence of heritable characteristics regarded as desirable. This is the common usage of the term. I do agree that those with power have and continue to impose their eugenicist worldviews onto others.

Then anyone who wants to reproduce with another because they feel attracted to the other person's physical characteristics is "dabbling in eugenicist thought." That attraction is rooted in evolutionary biology of wanting to pass on the genes of what you view as a better fit for your offspring. You have a prefrontal cortex friend. We've evolved past the lizard brain stages. Also, that man's individual opinion alone is not an indictment for what the rest of society should also think. It's just his…

I'm not sure why you're accusing me of being eugenicist just for preferring to have children with a woman whose real face and features I'm aware of (ideally as soon as possible in the dating stages if I'm dating for serious reasons). Is that not a normal, reasonable want for a person with a natural face to have? 1) I'm not accusing you of being a eugenicist, I said you were dabbling in eugenicist thought. 2) My conclusion is based on this sentiment: "Don't you feel like that's screwing over the …

Don't you feel like that's screwing over the man if he is expecting his children to have certain features that are impossible for the woman to pass on? Okay, yeah, OP is dabbling in eugenicist thinking. You haven't thought eugenics through. It's completely circular and hinges on a value judgment. In this instance, you highly value attractiveness, so you're prioritizing attractiveness in your future mate. Who determines what is objectively attractive, or how is it to be determined? Further, who i…

I asked you a question, and you refused to answer. The questions you asked me are phrased in such a way that arguably beg the question. It's reasonable to reject questions that you think to be predicated on a false dichotomy, and that's not the same thing as withholding information. Believe it or not, it has absolutely happened to me before, with this exact subject. Some people want to conclude that everyone is essentially as shallow as they are, so they use loaded terminology. "I think the best framing is, what do you define as attractive in terms of a potential partner?" See now, you're already operating under the assumption that I care a great deal about physical attractiveness. I don't. I have eyeballs, I am aware of physical attractiveness, but quite frankly it's not high on my list of priorities. I care a lot more about people's personalities.

I think a more fair assessment is in order. We are biological organisms. We aren't fixed, we're fluid. There's always room for improvement. The trouble is that nobody quite agrees on what "being better" entails. The red pill focuses on superficial elements, not core character.

Exactly. Organized religious communities are conservative and trend toward exploitative patriarchal circle jerks... but people are reliant on their family and crave community acceptance. I'm a woman who was taught the opposite extreme by my family. Divorce is horrible and only okay if the children are in danger. It's not rape if you're married. You're supposed to stay in the marriage for the kids' sake and respect/obey your husband. If you do ever get divorced, you shouldn't remarry... I'm sure it's hard to relate, but I am glad that some women go to the media with their abuse stories. It helps showcase systemic problems to girls raised in extreme environments like I was.

The reason is that every living being is innately selfish and looks out for their own self-preservation. Humans don’t escape that maxim even if we can manage it to some extent compared to other animals. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. This maxim is the rule and thus exists for a reason, but one has think in terms of causality in order to determine how this happens as well as how it can be deterred. The only difference is that men tend to accrue more wealth and power than women. I would argue that those most prone to corruption are the ones who pursue wealth and power. That said, I think we still need to be cautious about how we frame “net benefit” when discussing gender. A system can be skewed in a way that seems to favour one sex on the surface but when you dig deeper, you find that both men and women are being boxed in, just in different ways. What’s framed as male advantage (stoicism, dominance, career success) often comes at the cost of emotional repression, social isolation, and brutal pressure to perform. The standards you mentioned—at work, at home, in…

Another one-sided narrative that ignores reality. Men don’t get some magical free ride through marriage. They’re expected to provide financially, be emotionally available, contribute to housework, and be involved dads. But if the relationship fails? They’re often stuck paying child support, lose custody, and get minimal time with their own kids. That’s not a win. And no, most men aren’t getting pampered with sex, home-cooked meals, and uninterrupted careers. That’s a fantasy. Plenty of men work …

Not a man, but I was raised to view marriage as a meaningful gesture toward commitment. It is the act of financially tying yourself to another person before the government and the community. Marriage has become expensive, and divorce is fairly common and even more expensive, so people don't get married nearly as frequently as they once did. This puts men in a difficult position as far as meaningful gestures toward commitment and loyalty go. I don't know that commitment-phobia goes in both direct…

You should know: wages haven't risen since the 1970s, young people cannot afford to get married or buy a home. A lot of people in our country are hurting, much of our food is unhealthy and causes addiction and disease. Our school systems are poor, a great many people in our country are at a middle school reading level. Our political system is hopelessly corrupt, and many of our institutions are systemically entrenched. Roe v Wade was just overturned, and the GOP plans to restructure our governme…

As a teenager there was a lot of cognitive dissonance surrounding this subject. On paper it made sense, but lack of experience/exposure played a big role. In adulthood I care about too many other things more than how butch/femme a man is.

I'm not going to argue evo psych isn't a thing, but you can take those arguments in a lot of directions. We're too complicated to operate off of a model that reductive.

I understand what you say here and I am liable to agree that's how most people would see it. I do think that most adults are also likely to view this type of only fans content though, and if they do, there's an unexamined hypocrisy in looking down on the women making it.

So it's definitely my ADHD talking; but now that you mention lack of dignity pertaining to using only fans, this is sort of a fascinating philosophical mode of thinking. Would having an only fans account necessitate a lack of dignity? Surely not? Depending on your personality, worldview, position in life, and what exactly you mean by "dignity", we can assume some women would feel a sense of dignity from monetizing only fans? For instance: What if only fans is the path they take to stepping up in…

I am an American woman. I can't pretend that I know what it's like to live in countries with strict gender roles like Iran, Saudi Arabia, Russia, etc. However, I was raised by Evangelical fundamentalist Christians, so I do know what it's like to come from a culture that imposes a rigid social identity and worldview onto you. Being stuck in an extremist, cult-like community where you aren't allowed to think certain things, say certain things, ask the wrong questions, or live as you wish isn't fun…

First, I would like to thank you for taking the time to tell me this. I have encountered many men who are opposed to a large government, but their reasoning for it is often selfish/ideological/flawed. This is the first time in a long time anyone has expressed the opinion to me, gone into great detail on why they think so, and the logical throughway makes sense. My brother strongly agrees with you. It's been demonstrated to me that our government is quite manipulative, exploitative, and malevolen…

Ok so we jumped from the gab is not this big to this gap aways existed? What is next? how it's a good thing? No. We jumped from "the gender gap is not very big" to "the not very big gender gap emerged as a result of the GOP weaponizing religion to drive the sexes apart after abortion became legal in the 1970s."

The sex based gap in voting has existed since the GOP united three different religious groups to form an ideologically united social conservative platform. The moral majority, their goals; undermine civil rights initiatives, overrule Roe v wade, take away birth control, take away no fault divorce, & push religious gender roles and social ethics. This has been their social platform since the 1970s. Liberals & feminists began disassociating from the GOP and voting democrat as a block after this po…

I should not assume you read my reply to the person you replied to. There is a sex based vote gap but it's not as large as you think. As per your reply; I think most people have material interests, feelings, etc and that informs how they vote. It's very difficult to completely remove yourself from your politics.

All of us are capable of independent thought, but we're also group oriented, we are social animals. Further, this statement invalidates the statement you've replied to. How can women vote as a block and in their self interest if they're sheep voters who will vote for whoever their ingroup tells them to?

Dems are about as cynical and corrupt as the GOP. They would do whatever social thing is popular, but I agree, under their current social platform it is extremely unlikely. The social issues I am most passionate about are centered around children rather than gender-related issues. We're very poor about children's rights. Neither party does a thing about it. >If I were American I'd probably not even bother voting for any side. Our local politics matter a lot more than our national politics. Altho…

Two things: Ideological extremism compounds. A lot of this "my side is more important" attitude is coming from both sides. Research suggests empathy is going down and narcissism is going up. >Empathy 40% decline since 1979 >Narcissism risen by 30%

I don't want to delve into my life story, but due to my undiagnosed neurological conditions, I had a difficult upbringing. Regardless, I understood that paying attention in school was important. I ended up always applying the logical information because it existed outside of me and made sense to me. In my teenage years, I became markedly more self aware, due to developing critical thinking skills ...much, much more self aware than I had been up to that point. It's estimated that only 10-15% of p…

Yes and no. Does 4B have criticisms of unexamined patriarchal norms in men, just as MGTOW has criticisms of unexamined feminist advances in women? Yes. They serve similar purposes in this regard. Is 4B also what's safest for some women? Yes, unfortunately. I'm a young woman with ASD and ADHD. This more or less makes me a vulnerable adult. People can usually tell something is off about me shortly after meeting me. I have had a lot of men try to take advantage of me before, nothing permanently dam…

When it comes to academic feminist forums, like the ones over reddit, yes. These outspoken, ideologically entrenched feminists see men like my brother as either a threat or a non entity. When it comes to the average woman who identifies with feminism, the ladies who want equality of opportunity and equality under the law, they're concerned about young men like my brother as well. The "incel" phenomenon is common with young men who have autism, and I learned this because I have autism as well. I …

I've seen what you describe, yes. Some of these responses from women have been deplorable. I can't speak to everyone's circumstances, but sexism certainly goes in both directions. We cannot allow ourselves to become indefinitely embittered toward the opposite sex if we are to instill healthy perceptions in the next generation. I personally believe that all parents of girls should become feminists and all parents of boys should become MRAs, and all parents of both should become both. It should be…

I had a lot of thoughts while reading this. The "I have a daughter" reasoning bodes poorly for a lot of women. Not because of anything you've said here, but because of the unspoken implications. Everyone has a mother, and to have a daughter suggests you have... had a girlfriend at the very least. They're thinking, "why did it take you having a daughter to start caring?" and a lot of the time it seems like men only grow to care about feminist causes because these things affect their daughters. So…

In a long story short type of way, even if 90% of men were great partners if women didn’t desire them it wouldn’t make a difference. If this is going off of dating apps, I do not think dating app data is an accurate reflection of people who date for relationships. People who want one night stands are usually not interested in your character.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/11/24 10:47 PM

however, I don’t believe 85% of men are between benevolent sexism or incel ideology. Probably still a good percentage of men but not 85% I'm unsure of the spectrum myself, maybe benevolent sexism is the wrong endpoint on the scale. I'm just going off of the stats we have on self awareness. I just want women to be more introspective as a whole as I believe that would alleviate most their issues as it pertains to dating. I wish everyone took time for introspection as well. The world would be a muc…

I think this is a really crucial point you bring up. Perhaps my broad insights can help. As a woman with ASD: I have a poor threshold for mentalization relative to most people, and I have to find workarounds to keep myself safe. Theory of mind has been a lifelong challenge. The only thing I can do is observe the people I meet, talk to them, try to gauge their level of self awareness. I do this by watching how people behave in group settings vs a one-on-one dynamic, seeing how they respond to a v…

There's also a conscious. The conscious can check the subconscious. Hell, that's why people post here. To check their subconscious bias in a neutral space. I have autism and ADHD. People have different priorities in life. Some fall prey to the trappings of society and want money, status, fame, power, sexual conquest, influence... others desire more normal things like hobbies/games, education, travel, friendships, problem-solving, having a family... I don't know a ton of women who are pursuing hyper achieving men, although I'll be the first to admit that money/success are as attractive to women as beauty is to men. Both sexes are shallow, it just manifests in different way…

The stats I was looking at suggest that most men are trying to get relationships through dating apps, but only the highly attractive men are getting results. Anecdotally, I meet plenty of men IRL who are very interested in hookup culture, but I'm not.

This is a fascinating question. On the one hand, you could argue that people used to date with intent to marry and have children. In recent decades cultural liberalism changed the dating dynamic to where people pursue romantic love rather than children. The culture degraded with time, and now we have casual hookup culture. People develop what connection they can with each other and leave when it becomes too stressful to handle. On the other, you could argue that marriage, joint income, and child…

I'm one of those toxic modern women brainwashed by feminism. I'm actively engaged in the 4B movement. I don't hold anything approximating this worldview. Professional women from foreign countries both value education, career and economic success far more and don't have a bitch attitude you see in Americans If you value these things, then of course you will prefer foreign professional women. Lol. We all have different priorities in life. We do not all have the same hierarchy of values. Speaking as an American woman, I like having a bitch attitude.
