In France we have virtually the same chance/opoortunity to become a lawyer/doctor/engineer (name it). But in reality very few can do it. When my grandpa succeded to become a medical doctor, as a son of a blue collar he had 7% chance to succeed, today it is 9%. Majority of doctors in France today are son of rich workers or teachers.. They asked for blind resume without name and living address (because they thougt some poor suburb was discriminated). The end result was that people were more discriminated, why? Because recruiter was excusing typos in the resume when your name sound "foreign origin" or the living address was from a poor suburb. For example jobs opportunity seems the same but how many time the job is already offered to a friend/family member etc..
