"But more women are killed or seriously injured by male partners!"These stats are false because they fail to account for domestic violence driven suicides, of which men die a lot. And then there's also the whole problem with using police data when everybody is aware of how difficult it is for men victims of DA to report their partner. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 23/07/24 02:31 PM
Empirically, what is the patriarchy? The patriarchy is what happens when you attribute the power granted by wealth to gender. Yes historically men were the ones who owned the wealth but that's mostly because of biological factor, they had the physical strength to seize that wealth and power. It's never been about gender, it's always been about wealth. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 08/03/24 05:38 PM
People sometimes include a circle on the pride flag, and this is beautifully ironic and perfect symbol of where feminism is at todayI recently saw the pride flag with ukraine's color added to it. It's pretty funny because now the original rainbow color make les than 50% of the flag. Eventually it'll be covered completely. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 27/02/24 05:20 PM
For Gen Z, an Age-Old Question: Who Pays for Dates?Whatever the reason is, it is, in my honest opinion stupid. We can't build an egalitarian society if we don't apply that philosophy to all aspects of life. Sure if your partner has no job for X reason it makes sense to pay (no matter your gender) but if you both have a job you better have a system in place, either splitting or taking turns or paying in full but for different things (like someone pays for dates, the other pays for specific bills, etc). | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 12/02/24 04:05 PM
For Gen Z, an Age-Old Question: Who Pays for Dates?Conservatives women want it because that's what a true man is. Liberal women want it because they feel it's owed to them. I just date normal women (still the majority at least). | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 12/02/24 02:41 PM
"Ugh. I'm gonna be on the dad's side."That sounds stupid as hell. Definitely not my personal experience, we personally visited BOTH grandparents every Sunday (when they were alive). I think my parents continued visiting my paternal grandparents weekly after they went to a retirement home (I didn't cuz I had moved away then). I also know people who are much closer to their dad's side of the family than the mother's for X or Y reasons. I don't think you can generalize, this TikTok woman is probably extrapolating based on her own… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 12/02/24 02:37 PM
For Gen Z, an Age-Old Question: Who Pays for Dates? From my experience with women who expect you to pay there are 2 types : The "conversative" women who want gender roles for men but not for them and women from specific very macho cultures, like a lot of arabic women expect to be pampered hard. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 12/02/24 02:18 PM
Anthony Albanese calls for men to 'take responsibility' for Australia's epidemic of violence against womenThis is such a weird thing to say to me, it sounds like they're asking men to do vigilantism. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 07/02/24 06:53 PM
Why do men rely more on women than women do on men?Plot twist : I didn't read the article. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 04/01/24 07:27 PM
Why do men rely more on women than women do on men?I wouldn't be surprised if women greatly underreported how much they rely on their partner for emotional support. Men aren't as likely to do so because their partner is probably the ONLY person they rely on so they'll think about it right away. Women probably vent to their friends, colleagues and partners so they're not as likely to report relying on their partner as much. I think it would be more interesting to ask the other person if they consider themselves to be relied on by their partner … | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 04/01/24 07:02 PM
This post is littered with claims by women of widespread harassment by men on public transit and various misandric generalizations. What do y'all think of it?I have literally never witnessed it. All I see on public transport is the occasional schizo rant by someone unhinged. I've personally been harassed once by some guy who kept snapping pictures of me before running away, but I've really never seen it happening around me and I consider myself pretty situationally aware. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 22/11/23 08:10 PM
The way people talk about the bare minimum for men and positive masculinity is very similar.Whenever I see people talk about the "bare minimum" they always mention things virtually all men I know already do and then I start wondering why they're basing their whole world views around bad experiences they had. Also the remembering birthdays thing does not come from a bad place, if you asked me the date 99% of the time I would NOT be able to tell you, I just don't pay attention because I don't need to know the date for anything. My job is a stable monday to friday job so I only need to … | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 13/10/23 05:38 PM
