The person in the OP said shoot anti feminist ideology and I would have assumed your analogy would have been to shoot feminists You went to shooting women though. Why? You have confused an entire gender for an ideology

I’m not American, but glad you’re open to hiring women rather than assuming they’re incapable due to their sex. Unfortunately, it’s not the case for everyone but we’ll get there one day!

Toxic masculinity is a concept whereby the societal pressure on men to act in a certain “masculine” way ends up being harmful for him (and society). Acknowledging it aims to reduce the pressure on men to be overly aggressive, not cry/seek help for mental health, display homophobic behaviour etc. It is not an attack on men. It aims to help men. Phrases like “man up” & “men don’t cry” do men a disservice and are a contributor to the higher suicide rates we see, for example. The feminine counterpar…

I’m not sure if a “fair wage” is lucrative enough to convince me to travel that far, let alone arrange the work visas but I appreciate the opportunity lol. Hope you find someone to help out (and that you vet them a bit more than an internet stranger who made a birdhouse once lol!)

You clearly misunderstand core concepts such as “toxic masculinity” and are using these erroneous assumptions to justify fighting against a boogeyman as a result. Toxic masculinity does not mean men are toxic. Everybody benefits from the betterment of society. Doing dangerous jobs is not the only way to contribute to the benefit of society. I’m happy for you if his successes have helped you improve your own life. You can be glad he’s done what he has, but you didn’t do it.

Many women do work in construction and landscaping jobs despite the physical requirements. I remember a lawsuit making the news involving a man who told a woman he wouldn’t hire her in that role (she had much experience in) due to her sex alone and because of those requirements he and you think she couldnt possibly have, as a woman. I’d happily learn many trades, i think they’re great skills to have. What puts me off is the attitude a lot of the men have in those sectors. Ive had bad experiences…

Are you celebrating him for his success? Or claiming his success as your own purely due to your gender, and belittling women for not achieving what you haven’t even achieved? His successes are not your successes. This could be a positive space for betterment. Don’t tear other people down to make yourself feel more important - that is bully mentality

She’s talking about the extra work she’s had to take on from marriage. Everybody works. Why would she list that to warn young, independent women that they’d be paid for their employment? She’s specifically talking about unpaid work and the leisure gap. Men enjoy 5 more hours leisure time per week than women Women living with men still do a disproportionate amount of housework, even when they work and their partners don’t.

I didn’t say these things are male-only traits. It’s just the word to explain the amped-up & worst potential side-effects of stereotypical ideas of masculinity. Every man isn’t toxic. Some women display toxic traits. Those are different discussions to toxic masculinity though and don’t conflict with the concept. Culture benefits from strong, confident, responsible… Nothing wrong with any of these traits. These traits would not be considered anything to do with the concept of “toxic masculinity”.…

I think it’s one thing to say you find certain traits attractive, but if the actions are at the detriment to society, themself or their partner (such as extreme aggression and violence), I don’t think it should be encouraged by saying the resulting DV will be somebody’s “turn on”. Their well-being is more important than somebody else’s kink. It doesn’t have to mean no crying. Men should be able to talk about their feelings without anybody seeing them as less of a man. It needs to be encouraged m…

This isn’t a male vs. female thing. I agree. Societal pressure to fit in with social norms affect everybody & anyone/everyone can have toxic traits. It’s unfair to men who are aggressive and competitive to call them “toxic” Again, it’s not calling men toxic. It’s calling societal pressure to force men into a certain box toxic. Nobody should feel pressure to be any specific way just because they were born with certain genitals. while celebrating those same traits in women. & I disagreed with this…

I don’t think women are praised for being aggressive or not crying. There isn’t the same pressure to act that way for women to be women. Women who do display those traits have been called Karen’s or a pick me, in my experience. Certainly not celebrated. Society doesn’t accept an aggressive woman as much as a meek one.
/r/AntiFeminists23/12/22 11:37 PM

Yeah, toxic behaviour that’s associated with stereotypical masculinity. It doesn’t mean men are toxic and it isn’t an insult to men. It’s a really positive thing for men’s mental health to acknowledge that telling them they don’t have to be aggressive and/or stoic to be a man.
/r/AntiFeminists23/12/22 11:21 PM
1

I think a lot of people misunderstand the term as meaning masculinity is toxic. Or that men themselves are toxic. Toxic masculinity is just the name for societal pressure that harms men by forcing them the be a certain way to confirm to stereotypically male (ie “men don’t cry”). Some people’s idea of “manliness” perpetuates aggression, homophobia and domination. That’s what is toxic.

/r/AntiFeminists23/12/22 01:27 PM

Religious? It’s one thing saying you agree with fighting for those things, being disappointed with a lack of advancement and just not calling yourself a feminist because it’s not needed, but it’s another thing entirely to say you’re ANTI feminist. That’s a strong opposition view. It’s like saying cake isn’t a necessity to my diet. It’s not. I wouldn’t declare myself anti-cake and hate on all the cake-eaters of the world though. That’s extreme.
/r/AntiFeminists23/12/22 01:27 PM

Why are you anti-feminist? Do you think men don’t have as many rights as women because you can make those same arguments about why the status quo should stay the same for men. I’d rather see advancement though. No mandatory conscription, equal custody rates of children after divorce, lower mental health/suicide rates etc. Are these not worthy causes to pursue because everything is fine now? To me, that sounds apathetic.
/r/AntiFeminists21/12/22 11:38 PM

It does not make sense to say feminists only want women want to be equal [to men]. If they’re equal, they’re at a level playing field. It’s about adding rights and protections. Feminism doesn’t take any rights away from you, as a man. There is a long way to go with equality, so men’s rights have some advancements to make too. Most feminists are against the draft for example. That’s why I hate it when people say there’s no need for feminism now women can vote etc. There is still a long way to go.…

I think she’s talking about the type of men that only date women as young as legally allowable by their country. A minimum requirement shouldn’t be taken as a guideline. There is always going to be something predatory about middle aged people exclusively dating teenagers, even if they are 18 and technically adult.

This post is so weird, like, if you’re trying to counter feminism why take a single tweet from a random woman? A woman who may not even align with feminism. Disagreeing with a single thought from a single woman is not doing anything to counter the basis of an entire ideology. Just like the thought of one brown person wouldn’t represent the entire Muslim faith - imagine if the tweet was posted in an anti-Muslim subreddit? Just dumb and hateful.

Exactly! If anything, sayings like “bitches ain’t shit… but hoes and tricks” is actually much more derogatory. A woman is allowed to exist without a male partner & comfort herself knowing one isn’t needed and she is independent. A partner is a bonus, not a requirement. For both sexes. That’s not an insult to anybody. OP is “allowed” to say that and to be happy being independent. The comments talking about men being plumbers etc miss the point. She’s talking about dating. This post does not count…

It’s a standard question on a dating profile and he could have left it blank if he didn’t want to disclose it. Instead, he used it as an opportunity to insult women. You sound very angry.

“If you were a man, would you look at women tearing into this guy and think well of women” And on this, why would one woman/a small sample of women tearing a man apart equate to how you would view all women?

He was supposed to write his job there, instead he told the female viewer to get their hands the fuck out of his pockets. If somebody responded like that to you irl after asking what they did for a living, would you think “what a calm & reasonable man”? Dating apps aren’t the best place to be for anybody IMO. It’s generally accepted that you should use your profile to display yourself in the best way and avoid anything negative, this man has done nothing but suggest all women viewers of his profile are money-grabbers, Insta thots and has kindly dumbed himself down (to quote him) for the benefit of the female reader. None of that screams “catch” to me. The whole point in the sub is discussing dating interactions, profiles etc. Why should he have…

Hard to date if he’s being secretive about who he is. Hard to understand if he speaks in riddles. Hard to trust if he talks about about being on the right side of him- sounds potentially abusive. If you were a single woman, is this the kind of man you would be looking for?

His profile comes across like he doesn’t really like women (like his listed job title for eg). The women are sarcastically saying they don’t know why he’s single because he seems so sweet. It’s nothing about making fun of people who have been cheated on, or men in general. It’s not an attack on men. It was that this specific guy seems like hard work! It’s a shame it was brought here with a title like this saying “women aren’t angels” generalising all women as bad. This is very divisive (& the ex…

Because it doesn’t necessarily mean human, therefore might not be human. You don’t often hear women say things like “I think women should cease dating males”- it just makes it sound kinda gross? Like a different species or something. In clinical studies or in medicine when there are male and female participants or patients it’s fine. The terms are used consistently for both sexes and almost like an adjective because the noun is implied. As an adjective, it’s always fine grammatically.

A woman is female but a female isn’t always a woman. Just like apples can be red but red things aren’t always apples. Female describes the sex that’s often sex bearing, it can mean any animal (or cell).

Forgiveness is something you do for yourself. It isn’t the same as dropping charges. I can’t find any sources actually backing up that any charges were dropped.
