I don’t think it would have much of an impact. Maybe in conservative/religious circles it would have some influence but it wouldn’t change anything for the rest of us.

Don’t people just do that to see pictures of pretty people? Who cares if you’re ‘feeding their need for attention’ or whether they’re thinking of you. Just look at the hot pic and move on with your day.

My bathroom mirror is the only place I actually don’t mind looking at myself. In pictures I look like an ogre. Even mirrors and reflections outside my bathroom I look like shit.

I still wouldn’t really care. What I mean is that if I already like her I’ll probably be at least somewhat interested in her interests and hobbies, regardless of what those are. If I don’t really like her, her hobbies or interests aren’t going to change that. I dunno, I like people based on their personality and mindset, and I’m attracted to people based on looks and general vibes. Hobbies and interests come afterwards and how much I care about those will depend on how much I like/am attracted t…

Only accent I have any kind of opinion on is English with a Dutch accent. Like nails on a chalkboard to me, probably because I dislike the fact that I can’t speak English without it. Outside of that I don’t give a fuck about people’s accents.

As a man, I don’t really care about a woman’s hobbies.

It provides avenues for socialization, structure, and concrete goals so sure it could’ve helped. Those are generally good things. Lots of other things provide those too though and I don’t think the military is any better than the other options. Probably worse.

I always confused it with handsome black men. Took me a while before I figured out white people like describing themselves as 'dark'.

Some men do. That Kylie seems pretty popular, I saw lots of men talk about her appearance in the WAP video even though Meg was right there. Personally, only Kim was ever really all that attractive to me and even then, not that much. They don’t do much for me.

While I’m sure there are people who could be happy all by themselves, we’re a social species and generally need others to be happy and healthy.

Just leave him be, jesus christ. Single people don’t need saving, not even the perpetually single ones. My uncle is turning 61 this year and he’s never been in a longterm relationship. Don’t know about his sex life but he’s always been a happy bachelor. Hell, I’m not sure I’ll ever get into a relationship again and I’m pretty okay with the prospect. I feel worse about denying my parents grandchildren than never having another relationship lol.

“I don’t know what I want” is code for “I’m still hoping we can fuck/continue to fuck but I’m not interested in making this too serious/exclusive”.

You think being picky or rude to your husband is worse than divorcing him?

I think there's two things going on here. The first is a cultural narrative about womanhood with which we're all raised and that we thus internalize. I hesitate to call this a 'women are wonderful' narrative, it's more complicated than that, but it does dehumanize women and turn them into objects to be treasured, protected, owned. It's an inherently patriarchal narrative. The second thing is a fixation with female approval had by straight men on account of their sexual interest in women. This is…

Not as common as same-sex friends but not too uncommon either. Few people would be surprised by two opposite-gender people being friends. As for that stuff about testosterone, who gives a shit about having sexual thoughts about someone? Is that supposed to mean something? Is a platonic friendship invalidated by sexual thoughts? IMO, it doesn’t mean anything. It’s no big deal, just something that can happen. Doesn’t have any bearing on a friendship.

Mutual sexual attraction that's apparent to both people without it having to be explicitely expressed.

This is actually indicative of how important looks are wrt the assessement of a woman's value. It is so culturally ingrained that even a lot of women have internalized it. That's why whenever someone talks about average or below average men dating they mention that the women those men found were attractive.

Y’all know that you can break up because you’re not receiving oral regardless of whether she’s done it in the past right? It’s like you want to break up but also feel ‘morally’ justified and victimized while doing it. Her past is completely irrelevant, just asses whether you’re enjoying your sex life in the here and now.

It would have zero impact on my decision. Why should I care? How would I even know? This kinda shit’s so baffling. Care about how you’re treated in the here and now. Are you having a lot of sex and are y’all sexually compatible? Does she seem attracted to you? If so, why would you ever care about her exes or past experiences.

Straight men just want hot women. Bad… good… none of that really matters.

I was never told that appearances didn’t matter. They matter to me so it makes sense that they’d matter to others as well. And I was always aware that everybody’s fucking but that those who are hotter, more assertive, more extroverted, more successful, richer, etc. had an easier time fucking than others. There was never anything I had to accept, nothing I had to move on from. Extreme shit like 80/20 just seems like nonsense to me. Sure, some fuck more than others but I’m surrounded by average pe…

When I was in a relationship I was on anti-depressants and couldn’t finish so the sex was mostly about her. I quite enjoyed that dynamic. So the only way I’m a selfish lover is if you think it’s selfish to not cum for your partner.

I do not understand why you’d ever have sex when not in the mood. I wouldn’t get anything out of sex if my partner isn’t enjoying themselves so they wouldn’t even be doing me a favor. I guess I got lucky in the past cause my ex was always the one who initiated sex.

Working out is fun. I don’t look muscular at all but that pump after a good workout still feels heavenly. Besides, staying active, being healthy, and making (slow) progress all help you feel better on the mid- to longterm.

Pretty wack to come in pretending to be a savage and then reaching for the nice nothing of 'fine' when someone asks you to rate them to their face. Like, I think the dude looks fine too but I'm not someone who'd ever call someone a 'generous 2'.

Generally, straight men tend to overestimate their attractiveness to women. Not a bad thing mind you, men are still expected to approach so overconfidence is better than being insecure. I especially notice men having really skewed views on how overweight or muscular they are. A girl once showed me texts by this pretty fat guy who was complaining that his friends didn't let him know that they all thought he was fat while he went around thinking he was a 'bit big', as if he didn't have eyes and a …

This fucking obsession with compliments completely baffles me. Y'all don't have moms? Siblings, friends, nephews, coworkers, etc.? Partners have never complimented you ever? Like, what are y'all crying about. That no one has ever stopped you in the middle of the street to tell you the colour of your eyes reminds them of a late summer sunset?

Everybody always tells incels they look fine, if a little unkempt. It's incels who always go on about how ugly they are. In actuality, the "I'm an ugly subhuman" schtick is just a defense mechanism because incels feel resentful about being just average and having to work to date instead of having beautiful women fall into their laps like they think happens with the hottest of hot men they can't stop comparing themselves to.

IME, women are usually kind and show genuine interest in your wellbeing and your life in general. I vibe more with male-style bonding but I can still appreciate how nice a lot of women are.

Isn’t the whole reason for a lot of the anger on this sub the perception that women are doing fine in the modern dating world while men aren’t. If that’s the case women’s standards must be perfectly okay cause they’re still finding dudes.

The men here would like to know how to sleep with women, including the types of women on this sub. No woman on this sub would ever want to sleep with the types of guys she thinks frequent it so it wouldn't make sense for one to ask for advice here.

Do women even get all that mad about those sorta comments? I see a lot more guys getting angry at women commenting about their own standards than I see women get angry at men's.
