Don’t hold your breath. Just turned 50 and it still happens. It gets less every decade? But it never goes away.

Women: Here is what we think. The type of man no one wants: You’re either lying or don’t know what you think! Let me mansplain you for you.

A man who will keep other men from beating me in exchange for the sacrifice of my body and mental well being is no more honorable than the man who adds blows to the equation. He just wants me to thank him while he does it. There is no honor in a protection racket.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/26 05:43 PM

I don’t want to show any eagerness to sacrifice my body so that some men are eager to protect me from other men. Jesus.

Yes. And they’re often the same men who equate women’s rights with tyranny, because they cannot tell the difference between actual oppression and simply not getting sex.

Yes. All of this. Our reproductive biology and sexual dimorphism has kept us shackled in a world where physical prowess determined the pecking order. It still makes me uneasy that roughly half the population is so much stronger and capable of wielding it in their favor. There is no way I would let myself go through the body horror that is pregnancy and childbirth. Yup, it’s those bloody quirks of evolution, they don’t always align in your favor. (cough periods)

Not sure. Could be self projection onto the women? Some men report this too. Could also be a form of bisexuality that is leaning very, very heavily towards a male preference. I’ve never met a lesbian who was actually repulsed by sex with women, just fearful or not open to every sexual act (also common in straights).

Indeed. Also, I’m confused. I keep seeing men complaining how picky women are, but the comments here suggest high stringency in mate selection for men as well. Men complain they aren’t being dated, but they won’t date over 25 or 30? Sounds similar to women rejecting men who are too short or uglier. I don’t see how the one is more valid than the other, unless you assign male entitlement higher priority than female. And that’s just plain misogynistic.

I’m a lesbian and that is correct. I get turned on by naked women and find male bodies uninteresting. The thought of sex with them is repulsive.

I just saw a post where a man claimed we were mentally weaker and not too long ago there was one that advocated for government enforced pairings. I am not here often, but I probably don’t have to dig far to find absolutely hateful, vile misogyny from men, followed by a comment section full of aggressive, presumptuous agreement. This sub is actually shocking at times. And since when do marginalized groups have to stand down in the face of hate? 😭

I agree too. It’s never sat right with me that a woman can just “turn a man into a parent” when he has no right to do that to her.

While you’re on the topic of over confident men - have you noticed how absolutely vile some of these opinions are? You’d think someone would be just a bit ashamed to say something as hateful as OP. And they come here why? To complain that no one wants to fuck them? OP makes us sound subhuman. Why would we want people who think so lowly of us?

As a lesbian, I can confirm a general wariness of dating bisexual women. There is an underlying fear of being ditched for a man because said woman realizes she misses men/was just experimenting etc. Many lesbians are even staunchly opposed to relationships with any woman who is also attracted to men. I am married to a bisexual woman, but I also wondered very early on if she wouldn’t just rejoin the reigning majority and dump me for a man. Since most people are heterosexual or more inclined to be…

Bro. You started this. For nothing. Lololol. Obviously you responded in bad faith. So. 🤷‍♀️ Take the L. Or keep responding to me with more drivel.

There is no interpretation of the term - it has a meaning. The correct version of the phrase “gaslighting yourself” doesn’t apply to my statement as there is no self doubt involved. You have also completely missed the point of my original comment, which acknowledged the possibility of “bad phrasing” before focusing on the way it came across. As it stands it sounds offensive, much in the way your comments sound like bitchy whining.

Of course. Now you’re just trying to piss me off. Lmfao. What a cop out. You make no sense. Deal with it.

I’m glad you’re so eager to admit that you don’t make any sense. Lol. I swear if I had a dollar for everyone who throws the term “gaslighting” around just because they think it sounds cool, I’d be fuckin rich. You might want to re-read my initial comment as well and work on that reading comprehension before you answer with that kind of knee jerk crap in the future.

Alright. So the hallmark of gaslighting yourself is not just to lie to yourself and believe it, but to deny, minimize, or invalidate your own thoughts, feelings, perceptions, and experiences, often leading to self-doubt and a lack of self-trust. Basically you invalidate your own instincts because you can’t believe you could have the right idea. It’s rooted in self doubt and insecurity, which sets it apart from simply believing your own lies. Did that help?

Try again. Or do you need some help?

Do you even know what gaslighting yourself even means? lol.

Yes! Oh and the part where the guy says: “men just sitting together and figuring what works for women “. I seriously hope that’s just bad phrasing, because men stripping us of our autonomy and deciding what “works for us” has been the problem all along.

Always remember: Systemic abuse and oppression of women = not sleeping with an incel. It’s basic logic they will flood the internet with, instead of maybe, umm, working on themselves. /s Just in case it wasn’t obvious.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
