A lot of us had a similar viewpoint to yours. There is still that part of me that would have preferred to find a way forward together, but in reality that is a foolish fantasy. Once I was able to let go of what we had, I've since realized she did me the biggest favour in the world. That's not to say I don't wish her happiness as I genuinely do. When you have a kid in the mix you want everyone to be happy so that they can parent to the best of their ability.

I look at it as you simply weren't the right person for her. That doesn't have anything to do with being good enough. In fact, she has only done you a big favour in the long run. It's eye opening when you come to terms with her not being good enough for you--and that is exactly what she has demonstrated. Anyone who chooses to work on themselves has immeasurable worth. I place a much lower value of those who are unwilling to confront and find a better version of themselves.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
