Everyone is allowed to have standards and preferences in dating. Including women. Remember that when men are the ones complaining about standards being "too high".

What does women feeling content in themselves take away from your life?

No, just being comfortable in their own skin.

There is a body positivity movement for women because they put in the work to create it.

I'm not saying those guys are assholes or violent, BUT the way a person is in front of their buddies is not necessarily what they're like behind closed doors.

"Hanging out at a bar well past her prime" Jesus Christ, let people live their lives. Why does enjoying an alcoholic drink in a social setting require she be below X age?

So she only deserves to be treated exceptionally well if she's exceptionally good looking?

She's clearly referring to her body in a swimming costume, not fully dressed. You're being deliberately obtuse.

Neither of us can know whose pain is "worse". Men choose manual labour; women don't choose periods.

It isn't 7 times every month, it's 3 with the possibility of extending to 5. Period pains are genuinely debilitating for lots of women - have a little compassion.

They're essentially doing the same thing though - paying an employee when they are physically unable to work.

Fertility and beauty are two different things. There are ugly 20 year olds and beautiful 30 year olds.

This is such a bad take. You think 30 year old women suddenly stop being beautiful?

I have a question for you. Do you believe shaved women's bodies are distasteful and create false images of femininity? Not trying to pick an argument, just genuinely curious.

Men have a fair chance of handling it on their own because they tend to be physically stronger. Women are biologically disadvantaged in threatening situations. That isn't me putting down my own sex/gender, it's just fact. Me and my girlfriends plan our days around physical safety - not going running in the dark, paying for a taxi instead of walking home at night, sending friends a picture of our date etc. Men may fear being victims of crime more than women - I haven't had a chance to look at you…

Almost every woman has a traumatic story to share, and yet no man is ever friends with a rapist or abuser.

Women's reproductive health is literally constantly being brought up in these kinds of subs. I am absolutely convinced it's a tactic men use to scare women into relationships.

You people are obsessed with statistics. Talk to the women in your lives. There's a reason women tell their friends "let me know when you get home safe" and men don't.

Not every man is gonna rape someone on her way home, but the fact 1 in 5 women will be sexually assaulted suggests there's a lot of rapists out there.

Men will never understand how intimidating it is to be cat called or wolf whistled by a gang of men when you're alone. Multiply that fear by a hundred if it's nighttime and there's no one else around. Like it or not, every man is a potential rapist in that situation and we have no way of knowing who pauses a physical threat.
/r/AntiFeminists26/12/22 03:10 PM
-5

It's funny how 1 in 5 women will be raped or sexually assaulted, but no man ever knows a predator. The way a man behaves in front of his buddies isn't necessarily the way he behaves when alone with women. How is this so hard to grasp?
/r/AntiFeminists26/12/22 03:03 PM

Why are you talking about men fucking other men? I'm talking about straight men condemning women for having a high number of sexual partners while seeing nothing wrong with their own ''body count''.

They may also do this because in places like the UK, childcare is prohibitively expensive to the point mothers are Barely better off returning to work. Feminists aren't bullying anyone; women are free to make their own decisions, and they're making them. Antifeminists are the ones intent on terrifying women into settling for subpar relationships.
/r/AntiFeminists23/12/22 10:17 PM
2

Since the majority of antifeminists are men, I personally don't see why they need to concern themselves with women's fertility; the majority of women are still managing to have babies if they want them, so the human race isn't dying out any time soon. Men's fertility also decreases with age but I don't see feminist subs concerning themselves with that.

Why are you so worried about women's reproductive health?
/r/AntiFeminists23/12/22 09:54 PM

But that woman has financial security. A woman who sacrifices her career for a ''long loving relationship'' won't have financial security if it all goes pear-shaped; if he treats her badly she has no safety net. Will you be happy to pay alimony for the rest of your life because of the expectations you placed on her?
/r/AntiFeminists23/12/22 07:00 PM

It's funny how they'd still rather risk it than end up with the likes of you.

'Seems like women want careers for vanity.' Because only men are capable of having meaningful careers. Got it. Over the last week or two I've been trying to open my mind and listen to what antifeminists have to say, but comments like this are what remind me you're not worth my time, consideration or empathy.
/r/AntiFeminists23/12/22 06:55 PM

The fact women would STILL rather take their chances than settle for subpar partners says a lot.
/r/AntiFeminists23/12/22 06:38 PM

Men are free to insist on something "better", but does that mean they too will be abstaining from "unhealthy life choices" until they've found the right woman to commit to? The double standards are unreal. Men are praised for their hookups then look down on women for doing the same thing.
/r/AntiFeminists22/12/22 09:22 PM

I wish men would stop spouting this nonsense. All it does is attempt to pressure women to settle down with the wrong person, or when they're not ready. I'm in my early thirties and get as much attention as I always have.

/r/AntiFeminists22/12/22 02:32 PM

Personally I don't understand how someone can derive pleasure from sex knowing their partner genuinely does not want to do it. It bothers me how posters in this sub always attribute avoidance of sex to some malicious intent. People are allowed not to want sex.

I haven't, no. Feel free to share a couple of clips. I don't think the issue is so much that men are leaving, but that they tend to leave for countries with higher rates of poverty than our own. That power imbalance makes me uneasy. I don't want to get into that too much, though, as Asian women's opinions are the ones that really matter. I know that Pea lady covers this topic but I'll be interested to hear from more Asian women over the coming years.

Where have you heard/read that Western women feel they're owed relationships?
/r/AntiFeminists20/12/22 05:24 PM

Withholding sex from men is not selfish. No one is entitled to sex and she isn't obliged to do it if she doesn't want to.

A lot of women have worked hard for their careers and feel bitter about essentially having to choose between staying home to raise a family or doing a job they love. It shouldn't have to be either/or but it's almost always women who are forced to choose.

I think if a man truly doesn't want to risk taking responsibility for a child then he shouldn't be having sex. Thanks for having a respectful conversation with me though!
/r/AntiFeminists18/12/22 01:06 AM

I really, really disagree with this. An abortion can be extremely traumatic - at the end of the day, you're ending a potential life - and she shouldn't have to live with that just because he doesn't want a child. I believe that by taking the risk of having sex, he must also accept the risk of financial consequences down the line. It's her body that will go through agony whether the fetus gets to live or die. I really feel for men who are deceived like that by their partners, but I still stand by…

What do you mean by way beyond men in income for little work?
/r/AntiFeminists18/12/22 12:19 AM

I don't understand. Do you mean that someone who wants their partner to have an abortion shouldn't have to pay for that child if she goes ahead with a pregnancy?

So would you rather she refused to give up her career to have kids? Because if she makes the choice not to have kids, that means no kids for him either. If all women did this then the human race would die out.

Believe me, don't believe me, it's up to you. I don't even sort comments by controversial but it's just a common sentiment I noticed over a few days of browsing this sub. Maybe you don't hold the belief mentioned above but I was hoping that someone it applies to would share their thinking.

Because in many cases she has taken a significant career break to stay home and raise his kids, especially in a country like the UK where childcare is prohibitively expensive. That's many thousands of pounds' loss of earnings over several years. How is she supposed to leave and establish an independent lifestyle if she has no savings?
/r/AntiFeminists17/12/22 11:59 PM

Hey thanks for your response! I think I agree with you partly, but raising a child is much more than cooking or household chores. Being a housewife is a choice, but the parent who stays home has very little choice unless they live in a country with affordable childcare. So if they are staying home to take care of the kid they also aren't earning a wage. Staying home to raise kids means several years' career break, which affects job progression, which means a massive loss of earnings over the yea…

You say women can enter the workforce but I have seen many comments in this sub lamenting Western, career-driven women who don't cherish the opportunity to stay at home and raise a family. My overall impression is that antifeminists want a "traditional" wife without having to financially support her if she wants/needs to leave. This is what I mean by having their cake and eating it too.
/r/AntiFeminists17/12/22 11:46 PM

Keeping a roof over your head and food on the table isn't all it takes to be a good husband. What if he's emotionally neglectful? 80% of men getting hit with divorces may not be "horrible", but they may not be that great either. I doubt most women consider divorce lightly especially if there's kids in the picture. I accept your final point.
/r/AntiFeminists17/12/22 11:31 PM

My mother would work limited hours once we were of school age but she'd still need to get us to school and take care of us from 3pm. She was also responsible for all the housework. I believe it's right that she was compensated for taking care of us kids and the home.
/r/AntiFeminists17/12/22 11:23 PM

So the specific situation I'm thinking about is that of my parents'. My mum mostly gave up work to raise us kids, since childcare is prohibitively expensive in this country, which would obviously limit my mother's savings and pension contributions. When my parents divorced my mum was left with very little financial security until she managed to secure alimony. In my opinion, it was right that my mother received alimony because she sacrificed a career to raise us. A lot of people in this subreddi…

A woman who doesn't take advantage of the "pleasures" of staying home to raise a family won't have any financial independence IF she's treated badly and wants to leave. Would you be happy paying alimony if the marriage ended?

You can't "steal" a gift on account of it being... a gift. Obviously is she cheats or whatever it's right for her to give it back, but she's not under any obligation and it definitely isn't theft.
