I dont know about this tbh, while I feel bad for you ofc I wouldnt say that this is somehow how it always is or has to be as a guy. You dont have to face everything alone, you can have people that are there for you and love you and that you can talk about your problems to.

Idk tbh the roman empire has a kind of appeal and is widely known even beyond people who are really interested in history. And it‘s not like women only think about dumb/simple shit all day either, I think I have met more women that were really into literature than I met men. Don‘t really see the need to pull up those cliches tbh.

That just means that people were upset that the trend stereotypes men and women. Since obviously there are also women who think about the roman empire every day as well as men who never do. And what do you want me to link?

I think it‘s more because women (broadly speaking) don‘t really think about it and they never knew men do, so it‘s just a funny trend to ask men in your life about it. And ig it’s a bit funny that so many men seem to think about it on a daily basis without the women ever knowing. It‘s not that deep imo

Yeah that‘s a normal way to express happiness, however it‘s only acceptable if the person agrees to it. You don‘t just do it with everyone and without knowing whether or not they are okay with it.

Kissing on the cheeks as a greeting is not the same as just kissing someone on the mouth. The backlash he faces in Spain as well as from other european countries shows that it‘s not something that‘s normal there either. I mean I am european as well but obviously I don‘t know every culture

While I do want to honour the work you have done by typing this and the other replies you posted, I will not address most things you have said. This would result in yet another, longer answer and at that point I don‘t think it‘s worth it. So I will just reply to this comment here and this will be it from me. No offense but I think I have other more productive things to do and to use my time for. You cannot do everything and people are born with different levels of intelligence. I am not saying e…

This is the whole article I think, for anyone interested. Wanted to read all of it so I looked for it

Yeah I have corrected myself in another comment. Not all but most types are worse/seem to be worse. Forgot to add it to the original comment. Edit; Many of the things that are mentioned for Type IV, are comparable though. With some being worse, like burning or chemicals for example

Just your comment that both of them remove sexual pleasure seemed to be a bit towards that direction. That‘s why I wrote that reply mainly. And yes I agree with you that it (mgm) shouldn‘t be the norm anymore and I am quite happy that I live in Europe, where it is only rarely done and when it is, it’s out of medical necessity. What I also view critically though, are the ones done due to religious reasons by Jews and Muslims. Thanks for the conversation, have a good day.

I didn‘t act like it‘s the only form though, I even linked to the article containing the different forms. And even starting from 1b it gets drastically more barbaric. With the whole or partial removal of the clitoral gland. Imo this is way worse than removal of foreskin. I just don‘t get why we can‘t concede that FGM in most forms and cases is way worse than removal of foreskin (which is obviously bad). It‘s barbarism and I am glad we agree on that.

Okay I should have been more precise then, 1a certain types of IV can be compared ig, although IV is quite broad and idk what long term damages 1a does, haven‘t done deep research on the topic. But I shouldn‘t have said all forms but all except those two then. Doesn‘t really change the overall point though, when all other forms are still considerably worse. infibulation is the rarest form Idk the exact numbers but so what? Millions of people still suffer from it lol. It is way worse than not hav…

Both are wrong but FGM in all forms that it is still done is way worse. We cannot deny that. It would be like they cut the head of your dick off and in some cases the opening is sown shut except for a little space for Menstruation. Sure MGM also reduces your sensitivity (although I think I read studies that it is not that clear so idk) but having the whole clitoral gland (visible part of the clitoris) removed is a whole different level altogether and barely comparable. Look at the classification…

You are not a bad person because you are traditionally masculine. People will still value you as a friend and partner. No need to feel bad. Don‘t let yourself be brought down by a film or by people talking shit, even if it can be hard. That being sad, your feelings and concerns are valid but you shouldn‘t let yourself be controlled by them. I haven‘t seen the film myself but I feel like we should be able to continue living our lives despite unflattering portrayal in films (women also seem to be …

Well, your point has nothing to do with the topic at hand or my comments on it. I never said this singling out of people was only bad when it happens to feminists. I never spoke of the broader societal discussions on feminism or incels. Nothing you said even attacks that point. All I said is that it is stupid and intellectually lazy to attack radical fringe opinions of people in vast heterogeneous groups. And that's what the opinion voiced in the comment is, a fringe idea (as I have argued in my…

My reply was deleted due to linking to an incel forum. So I will just paste it again without it. Well if you want to I can provide you examples, I obviously don’t have a folder with deranged incels posts on hand. But (insert incel forum which I cannot link) is a cesspool, everyone knows that. Then there is also 4chan, which I don‘t think we really need to argue about either. I even specifically said in „incel forums“ in my comment. widely appraised Has one upvote in 26 days. I mean we are all individuals. If someone posts a radical opinion here I cannot really do anything against it other than disagreeing or maybe calling it out. But someone can still screenshot it and make the whole movement look bad. It‘s not really my responsibility to look through thousands of people‘s activity and see what they post

I mostly comment on posts I find on my timeline and I‘ve been a member of this sub since idk when. No system behind it or anything. I am just not really active in most feminist subs ig.

So they do something bad/stupid, and that justifies doing the same stupid thing? Regardless of who does it, it‘s counterproductive and silly. If anything, we should know how dumb it is and not do it. But if you want to spend your time being outraged over single people in ragebait posts then it‘s your call. I find it dumb no matter who does it.
/r/MensRights21/07/23 04:19 PM
-14

Yeah that‘s dumb as well. And even if it‘s dumb it‘s a more complex opinion and doesnt advocate for straight up violence. It‘s a full opinion piece and not just a random comment with violent thoughts. It explores her own personal problems and hatred and how this contradicts other positions in the feminist space she’s in. This is a piece you can actually hold a discussion about imo (provided one actually reads beyond the headline) and question how much this influences the movement as a whole. And…

Well for one, I don‘t think people in a weird cesspit on reddit really constitute the average feminist or person or whatever. It‘s just hard to extrapolate by posting individual examples of people voicing dumb/radical opinions on the internet. That‘s why I deem it useless. Actual articles or opinions of intellectual leaders are much more interesting than what user174930 shitposts. From my experience this is not the common opinion of most people. It‘s the one that is shared in these forums of soc…

It‘s just useless imo to do things like that. You‘ll find weird people everywhere especially on reddit Edit: I‘ll articulate my point a bit better. I didn‘t mean to say that others are just as bad. What I mean to say is that you‘ll always find dumb individuals or radical opinions in big groups of people. To pick out those individuals and then be outraged about it as if those people actually represented the majority opinion is unproductive, lazy and useless
/r/MensRights21/07/23 01:35 PM

I think it‘s somewhat useless to pick out deranged individuals in a group to then be totally outraged by it. If you take a look into a lot of incel forums you‘ll find things exponentially worse than this

I mean it was over and I went to sleep. And yeah you tagging me notified me and I had a bit of time to type sth after getting up so I thought why not. It‘s something I freshly wrote since the other thing was accidentally deleted but some things are also similar ig. And yeah, no stress. It‘s also okay if you don‘t feel like replying or have better things to do. It‘s rather lengthy and I kinda doubt we have that much more to say to each other in a productive way. Intelligence (however it is measured, which poses significant problems in and of itself) is, as far as I know not proven to be fully determined by genetics. There is a component but I don‘t think we have actually been able to determine how much of it comes from your parents and how it‘s influenced by the upbringing. There is also a case to be made about how malnutrition, pollution or other factors influence your development and IQ. Then there is obviously a contrast between your intelligence and…

The red and blue aren't necessarily yes/no, black/white, right/wrong but rather perspectives of acknowledging reality/ignoring reality. Yes I know the concepts. Just wanted to do some wordplay, at the cost of accuracy, admittedly.

I have seen some of the videos already but thank you nonetheless. Will definitely look at some additional things. It‘s important imo to also be confronted with other opinions and world views. I just typed out a really long answer and wanted to copy it so that it have it, in case the app (I‘m on mobile) crashes. But I accidentally pressed „paste“ while having the whole thing selected. So I basically deleted everything I have been typing for the past minutes. And, forgive me, I don‘t feel like typing all that again, especially since it‘s a bite late where I am located. IQ as a metric is somewhat flawed and higher IQ does not necessarily lead to better educational outcomes. IQ also isn’t measured as often. Sure it is a factor but the „quality“ of someone coming to the country imo can be more accurately determined by their job and previous education. Even if a higher IQ always lead to a better education, the education is what counts in the end. If you are high-iq drug addict without any real education it doesn‘t really help the country you‘re immigrating to. The…

Many things to address imo. First of all, IQ isn‘t what‘s widely measured to determine what skilled immigration is, it‘s things like your education or prior job experience that matter. And you are also forgetting that many highly intelligent and skilled people do in fact immigrate into western countries, from asia for example. I think in the US asian households tend to be even more successful than average due to their skill and work ethic. Also a lot of already educated people come to the US due…

I really doubt these people are anywhere near enough to actually cause a noticeable impact. Just look at how many highly-skilled immigrants or workers (both men and women) in general arrive every year in western countries. Especially countries like the US have an enormous pull factor, high standards of living, high salaries etc. And as I said, most people wouldn‘t want to move to some third world country, life‘s good. People live normal lives and are more or less content, this movement is an ext…

The problem is imo that for any persecution of the accuser there has to be malicious intent, otherwise we cannot allow for any rapecase with a not-guilty verdict to immediately result in punishment of the accuser. Otherwise there will be no rape trials since everybody could possibly face punishment. It is very hard to prove rape, not every accusation is malicious.

No one should be forced to take the pill. Wdym by „even fewer excuses“? not wanting to take a hormonal drug bc you don‘t want it to mess with your hormones is a fair excuse. You don‘t need a particular reason not to take birth control.

Imo it makes sense. If you are against religion you see a lot of the injustice that it caused. Be it the oppression of lgbt people, forcing women into traditional marriage without agency of their own. That‘s why the people are closely associated. It‘s a bit like leftists that want to overcome inequality and saw the obvious disadvantages women suffered back then (no way to decide for themselves, no bank account, no right to vote etc etc) and saw this as an obvious hierarchy to overcome. Imo calli…

That‘s just not true. Marital Rape is illegal in every western country. Depending on the definition of rape a lot of evidence is needed. Also most rape cases you never hear of, because they are done „quietly“ without a lot of buzz. Also what you are describing is the same for every crime. If you are accused of one obviously your reputation will take a hit. But that doesn‘t mean we should just allow all crimes. Also there are ways of proving rape beyond just the allegation, such as wounds, bruise…

You shouldn‘t be angry because it‘s not a good way to live your life. Try to change things you dislike and advocate for what you want. If you are angry and bitter all the time life will just suck. Obviously you can decide how you live your life, but why not do so in a positive way? You seem to have bad luck when it comes to women. It‘s really unlikely that you actually never had a positive experience with non-related women. I am sure you‘ll find someone who you can have positive experiences with…

I mean that‘s just rape. It being criminalised is a good thing, as long as the law is fair. I think it‘s important to still say that we shouldn‘t condone marital rape

They had different places of living but also lived in his houses. It also doesn‘t really matter imo. And yes it definitely is an outlier. For most relationships that most people have, you don‘t have this level of commitment. You can still have a normal relationship without having to pay the other person. This kind of support only even comes into the picture once it‘s a longer and more „deep“ relationship. It‘s all a question of how you manage your own relationships. And again, it‘s wildly differ…
/r/MensRights30/06/23 10:43 PM

This really depends on the jurisdiction you are in and how you live out your relationship. I also don‘t think spousal support (which isn‘t necessarily gendered) is an inherently bad thing. And I mean in most relationships you will not face a court and have to pay for your ex, due to the nature of them etc. Especially when you are still younger and everyone kinda does their thing. Also the court concluded in the Canada case that they did de-facto live together. This case clearly is somewhat of an…

In the comment it‘s not marriage that‘s mentioned explicitly in the end. If you are really scared about that you can still just have a relationship with a partner without being married. I mean I also do want to get married though, with the right woman I can definitely see it. Idk how old you are but I personally don‘t want to preemptively already say I will live alone with my dogs lol (which is the same thing I often hear as a gotcha towards women, that they“ll be alone with their cats, but when…

I mean clones would be as well I suppose. But even twins have differing opinions for example.
/r/MensRights30/06/23 04:51 PM

Eh idk, I don‘t think that‘s accurate. These overgeneralisations are seldom productive imo. Especially when a lot of the criticism of marriage as an institution is not directed on an individual but societal level.
/r/MensRights30/06/23 04:50 PM
16

Well no group of people is homogenous. If you as a woman believe that marriage shouldn‘t exist you won‘t critise someone for not marrying anyone. It‘s always easy to take two differing position from inside a movement, pit them against each other and say; „omg how dumb they contradict themselves“
/r/MensRights30/06/23 03:04 PM

Idk man, don‘t you think that‘s a little bit too far lol. Obviously any system collapses if nobody takes part in it. But why let women „die by themselves“ why not have a partner and go through life together? You certainly seem bitter ngl.
