1	An MRA was Born I find his repeated use of 'man up' a little ironic -- as if he had some preconception of who men are and what they had to do; and then did it. The internal dialogue or unspoken agreement of the role men must play is likely a large part of the problem, and its a problem that some men have -- something external to who they are or how they should act. 13	Got her attention! Don't know how to respond... I really want to talk to her about MRM. This is the sort of thing that makes me generalize women and lump them into "holy fuck they're all just stupid and fucking crazy" It's better to avoid generalizing about people, especially along gender lines. One whom claims to be a skeptic but is either afraid or unwilling to look at factual evidence begets the former. Your title 'Got her attention', unfortunately, means you've also given her attention... which is exactly what she wants. In this day and age, we've the luxury of highlighting the exemplars of virtue of our moral caliber's choosing and ignoring those who fall short of the ideals of mankind. 1	A question for past feminists: when you realized that it wasn't for you, were you suddenly shut out of your friend-group? Who would have thought there would be more than one article by Barbara Kay on the Titanic! Thank you for pointing me in the correct direction. I don't believe, for the men in those situations whom had died, that there even was a choice. Imagine being a guy and attempting to get on one of those lifeboats. More often than not, socioeconomic status as well as gender are likely factors in deciding if you'd survive. Those men (excluding children) who did survive were likely to have been well off. 2	15 Aspects that Must be Recognized in Third Wave Feminism Issues 6, 9, and 13 are likely there as lip service. In my own humble experience with talking with feminists, was that gender equality came second to advancing women's socioeconomic disposition in the world. Of course, there are some thoughtful, mindful and otherwise moderate feminists whom would fit under this 'Third Wave' of feminism.
