Good post. I really liked this bit: making my desires known to her without neediness It's a nice reminder to me that playing hard to get and remaining distant - the usual go-to advice - is exactly quite beta because you're not expressing your true emotions due to fear of hurting your desired outcome... hence being outcome dependent. Thanks man, much appreciated.

Sorry, that's what I was addressing the 'Yes.' to.

Yes. tl;dr girl texts all the time, is all over me (physically) when we do see each other, even in public, but arranging a date is a struggle. She never confirms right up until the moment, which has resulted in flakes. This is what sparked the question.

This is the conclusion I came to initially, but I think there are still girls who always text, and allow me to escalate, but just don't seem attracted.

I hope that recognising it is a good step, and I'm trying to catch myself doing it, before I let it develop Acceptance is always a step in the right direction. Recognize insecurities, destroy them, and replace them with positivity. I've just bought How to win friends... Is it any good? It literally changed my life when I read it a few years ago. It's the book that convinced me being social is a skill anyone can learn.

I'll watch these tonight, thanks for the recommendations.

I feel the same way quite often, although for me it's aimed more at wondering what my ex is up to. Don't worry, mine still occupies a some head time for me too. It's getting much better, though, I'm sure it will for you too. Hope this thread helps you out too.

Thanks for the comment man. It's on track with how I've been brainstorming this issue myself. Added the recommendations to my reading list - a few were already on there.

Hi Ben, big fan of your blog + Twitter. I have literally handed out HTWF&IP to a few friends btw. I think an issue for me is that I'm struggling to find balance between being social doing awesome things on my own. I feel I did the opposite of most people. During high school I didn't have a social life once the bell rang. I'd go home to read, and work on my online businesses. This continued until a year ago when I realized how lonely quarantining myself into my room was. I re-connected with some …

No matter what I do, I don't feel like I wasted any time because I did exactly what I wanted to do. This is the mindset I've been trying to adopt. The problem is accepting this on nights I was suppose to go out, but plans fell through, or nights I really wanted to go out, but it didn't end up happening. Happy to hear I am on the right path, though. Making productive use of alone time has been my attempt to soothe this insecurity.

A lot of people who go out and party every night don't just do it for the socializing. It's because they don't do shit with their time and feel like losers. Never thought about this before. Thanks for your comment.

This is probably the best, basic advice for anyone asking themselves this same question. I complete a book just about every 7 days, so I've got this covered.

Well the belief you need is "I am enough". Just watched that 2 hour long RSD video that explains this before reading your comment - it's great, and answers my question well.

It sounds like you've internalized that you feel better when you keep healthy habits, and that's really a good thing! Great point. Thanks for your input, appreciate it.

Confidence is not a binary thing. You don't just become confident, it's an ongoing process.

Don't fake it until you make it. I this the other day, which I've unfortunately forgot the source of, that meshed well with me. The problem with "faking busy" is that you're not actually busy. So, while you're putting up this "alpha" facade for other people, you're sitting at home on your computer reading theory. The solution? Don't fake busy, be busy. You should always be moderately busy even if you live in a small, boring town which doesn't have many people on the streets to approach like mine…

Agree and amplify. HB: "So I heard you're a pick-up artist!" MrMorrow: "Yeah, you probably shouldn't make much eye contact, it's not something I can turn off." All my close friends know I'm really into reading psychology and social theory, so it only makes sense I study the romantic side of it as well. It's really not that big of a deal. I'd rather be "exposed" for reading the stuff in here than reading Cosmo.

Have you seen Green Street Hooligans? Not a great movie, but it's good for motivational purposes. There's a scene early on in the movie where the main character expresses his shift in mindset after getting in his first few fights: I've never lived closer to danger, but I've never felt safer. I've never felt more confident, and people could spot it from a mile away. And as for this, the violence? I gotta be honest - it grew on me. Once you've taken a few punches and realize you're not made of gla…

So you unintentionally opened a HB8 who wanted to talk to you, but you decided to stay with your friends rather than talk to her. I'm not seeing where the stupid part comes in. Good job, keep opening.

Nope. I don't drink, but frequent bars. If you're feeling uncomfortable for whatever reason you can always say your're the DD.

I literally wrote down those 2 reasons in different words when thinking about this myself. Glad to know I'm on the right track, just need to be patient.

The rules remain the same, just don't escalate further than you want to go. Don't aim for sex if you don't want sex, aim for kissing, or wherever you draw the line.

How do you avoid getting attached to one girl when you don't yet have a large contact list to game? I'm improving fast, but I don't have that many numbers to set up dates with yet. It's becoming a bit of a challenge to avoid taking the easy route and focusing too much attention on the easy option from the past.

I doubt you ruined the friendship with 1 attempted goodbye kiss. Congrats on making the move.

He's right. Guy A approaches 5 girls at Bar X, Guy B also approaches 5 girls at Bar X. Guy A feels desperate, Guy B feels great. They both did the exact same thing. It's all mindset.
