I was also making a statement about how not all women are the same (as this was making a statement that not all men are the same) and that the advice given could apply to both genders, but I guess most of you aren't having it. female here, first of all, I find it amusing reading all these guys talking about what they think women want. lol. But I have to say yours is the best I've seen. If you don't mind, I'll TL;DR it for you. Being confident and charming opens the door, being your fun and interesting self keeps it from slamming in your face. I fear a little bit that you are lumping in people who get abortions as a form of birth control, and women who get it because of rape, etc. I don't berate people for their stance on the issue, I just state mine. I personally would never get one, but I think it has it's use (..and not for casual birth control. there's a pill for that.)

That reminds me of a friend I used to have when I was a teenager who was opposed to any depiction of a man hitting a woman in movies, and she would get vocal in her opposition right there in the middle of the movie, (theater and home) didn't matter the context. Annoyed the hell out of me. Wouldn't say a word about a woman hitting a man though. sigh

I try not to reveal my gender, but some social things like PlayStation Home ( I play PC and PS3) I like to play as a girl just like I play the Fallout games or Mass effect as the female character. I honestly do believe they are in the minority, I was just stating one's I've encountered ( I have many military family members who are wonderful people and believe in equal rights for both genders) but yes, most of those are stated at least a few times. *edit: I was also meaning that even if they are in the minority, they are still the ones most people hear about.

You know, a lot more women would enlist if there weren't guys who outwardly HATE women who enlist. whether they are in the minority or not, they still exist. I've know at least a few men who are either former or currently serving military who vocally bash women who enlist. I had to stop being friends with one guy who laughed about/mocked female officers being raped by fellow soldiers, and killed in action.

Also, I've had instances myself of having women in my own family laugh about things like that, and when I tell them how horrifying it is, they also tell me to lighten up. (I'm a bit of a weirdo in my family anyway, it's almost all women. in total, including aunts and cousins, it's 10W, including me, to 4M, and that's just my mom's side)

This reminds me of that whole thing with Sharon Osborne, on some knock off show of The View, cheering on the girl who cut off her Ex's balls and threw them in a blender. not only that but when Sarah Gilbert tried to call her out on it, Sharon called her a party pooper. WTF??!? I mean, if it was a guy doing something like this to his ex girlfriend the guy would be vilified beyond all reason and given life in prison.

exactly. Why can't I hold a door open for a guy or give up my seat to a guy who looks like he needs it more than I do? I like being nice to people, and often have moments where I forget I'm a girl, ( at least according to societies rules) and start doing things guys do, then I get a cold hard slap from "reality" that I'm a girl, I can't go around doing those things and acting like that.
