I think acting when you know its not welcome is disrespectful at best. Its not always the wrong choice, but its rarely a virtuous choice. So it depends on how you want to act, or how you want to lead

backup with your hands up, palms facing her. it's a sign to anyone watching that you do not want to fight, also your hands are up so if she comes at you you can protect your face. if she does come at me at this point i would probably dodge while repeating that i don't want to fight. she still comes at me maybe move in close and tie her up with a bear hug or grapple. just grapple and keep myself safe. thing is, i'm not in danger if pretty much any woman attacks me. i'm 6'3" and i know how to hand…

i make about $1000 a week take home. just a little under. my support payment is a little bit lower that table amount because of the circumstances of my agreement. if it was up to the table amount it would be closer to $1500 a month. we have joint custody, and we split time with the kids 50/50. it's a bit difficult because we live pretty far away from each other, but i see the kids 3 out of 4 weekends a month, i get all holidays, and pretty much the entire summer school break. so she gets to make…

ya. it's a tough pill to swallow. i make good money, but i think it's unjust that i pay this much, and that i'm on the hook for as long as i am. every situation is different, and i'm bias, but it's bullshit. i believe the liberalisation of divorce laws have damaged modern families, but it is the world i live in. it's all about being a good dad now, and that's a good purpose.

There are aspects of mgtow that are pathetic. There is a strong victim mentality here that moans constantly about how women are subhuman. There are also very positive aspects to mgtow as a space for men to work with each other to break away from archaic social expectations in a thoughtful way Know why you are here and consider how to articulate that if you are going to put yourself out there and identify as mgtow. As others have said though as well, dont seek external validation, giving people t…

Step one: go no contact. Block EVERYTHING. After that recovery takes two things, time and effort. Put effort into yourself, self care. I recommend writing a journal, mindfulness meditation, and talking about your thoughts with very clise friends or family. Bonus if you like to read because now us the perfect time to read some stoic/buddhist philosophy or relationship books. Use this trauma to learn about yourself and the world. Dont be a victim!!! Take control and use this time to become better!…

"The right to defend yourself" Ya, but did you actually have to 'defend' yourself? Could you have just walked away? If you could have you weren't defending yourself. I would feel the same if it was some drunk dude. If you can just walk away thats the better choice.

I dont understand why feminists would want this... Do they? Who wants this? Anyone wanting equality would want only one title. Same goes for stuff like fireman qualification tests, anyone wanting equality would want one test.

So what do you do on your phone all the time? Social media? Maybe some sort of social media career path? I have a friend that owns her own business and she gets contracts to manage companies social media. Do you play games on your phone all day? Maybe artiat is for you, or programmer, or game designer. No one has a magic bullet for you, these are just clues, you have to figure out what you like to 'do' with your time and then figure out how to get paid for that.

I handle women mostly the way i do men. I am doing what i do because i think its right, not because of how people react. I dont change the way i am depending on who i am around. Generally i am courteous, honest, and respectful.

I think that line of thinking only sinks us deeper towards a victim mentality. We go our own way because we believe its right, we care about that more than what people think/say of us

Havent really listened before a handful of songs after your suggestion, but my first impression is a little too upbeat or boogie for my tastes. I like my jazz smooth and usually a bit down tempo. I got lee morgans the sidewinder album recently and that might be something we can both enjoy

I cable cut years ago. I still enjoy movies but rarely blockbusters. I find there are a dozen or so movies a year that i really enjoy watching and find very fulfilling when i have a craving for some art. I love art and movies are one of my favourite mediums. Tv in my opinion is almost completely a waste of time, and reading or exercising is a much better use of effort

So the only reason you believe in this is because you dont want to feel guilty about eating meat? Wtf dude? That is hamstering if i ever saw it. Look if you want to not care about animal wellbeing then whatever, but to just blindly assert they factually dont feel pain just to suit your tastebuds is weak as shit. A leaf cannot control the wind, and that analogy is useless if applied to something we can control. If a warrior is influenced by something he cant control he is very much a leaf on the wind, to think otherwise is delusion.

An animals avoidance of pain being described as a simple mechanical process and not real pain could also be used on humans though no? Couldnt our saying "ow that hurts" also be described as a mechanical process to avoid something that damages our bodies?

I get both sides. She definitely crossed a line. The whole 'ignoring me?' guilt trip fucking bullshit deserves a fuck off imo. But ya maybe being more polite would be more... I dunno, virtuous? In ontario these expenses fall under 'section 7 expenses'. I am responsible for support and alimony as well as section 7. The split on section 7 is based on disparity of income so my ex and i split these costs 70/30 as per the law. My advice is: 1) learn the law. Learn what you are responsible for as mandated by the law, ask a professional if you can 2) forget about whatever you cant change. If its the law then do your best to not worry about it, pay and move on 3) record everything. Any money y…

Depends on the meditation practice. Mindfulness is a good word for it, its less about emptying your mind and more about practicing focus. It gives you the tools to ve calm, patient, and accepting when troubling emotions arise by giving us the ability to focus and be mindful of those emotions. Once we are mindful of something we can begin to change it

Read the books in the sidebar. They will help. Read all of them. I also recommend journalling all your thoughts, and if you can afford it find a therapist. If you cant vent to close friends or family. If you cant do that look for support groups online. There are ways you can help yourself. But it takes a fucking moubtain of hardwork. Dont give up!

Different people come here for different reasons. For me i am in the middle of a divorce and mgtow seemed like a place to get some support from a male centric group. I had just finished reading siddhartha, and have read about seneca and meditations and was pulled in largely by the reading list on the sidebar. Ya i realize that. I was offering a different perspective. I think mentorship and fatherhood are incredibly important positions for men to fill, and i think the mentality of mgtow is part of being a good male mentor in todays world. I can be as selfish as anyone else, but i want to leave this world a little better than i found it and i think fatherhood is a big part of that for me. So you are saying dont try to be good cause i will fall short? Why shouldnt i try my best? Even if its a given that i will fall short? Isnt that noble? Isnt that persistence and determination? Even if i fall short i will do better than if i just didnt try. And i think our definitions of judgement are different. I see it as an integral part of discourse and debate. How else can i critisize your ideas if i dont judge them?
/r/MGTOW27/04/17 05:42 PM

I'm not responsible for their choices. that's a strawman. What i am responsible for is how i conduct myself as a member of society. I am also a father, and realize maybe a little more so what women go through with pregnancy. So especially if she is further along i will ask if she would like my seat. Its altrusitc, and compassionate and i aim to be the change i want to see. I think its a real shame that bitterness can so easily get in the way of compassion.

The problem with making this conclusion binary is that many people are happy in different kinds of relationships where sharing apples is part of the fun. ie. swingers/polyamorous/ethical non-monogamous It might not be for you, but others are happy sharing.

I find less stressful to tell the truth as much as possible. I find it makes it easier to relate to other people and I don't need to worry about keeping my story straight. Also when I get to know someone new they know who I am right away which I think makes more sense than giving them a false impression.

Worked for me. I was on the path to divorce and I therapy helped me a lot in fixing my marriage. But I may be the exception.

Any three year old I have met can be reasoned with, age appropriately but still never needed to hit one. I know you think you are doing what you need to but the science is unanimous on this and spanking does more harn than good. In my opinion all you are teaching the kid is that if you are bigger and stronger than you can get what you want through violence. Sure it works as a deterrent now but its also teaching him a shitty lesson for him to use on the smaller kids at school. I know where you ar…

That is no different in a monogamous relationship though. There are the same difficulties with trust and commitment. I guess it makes more sense if you know our rule. See our rule is that we know about all our partners. And I trust her. So I am confident the number is 3. Being poly doesnt make her a liar.

I'm not sure how to respond to this. It's obvious that you can't know anything about the strength of my relationship, but instead of asking about the trust and loyalty in my relationship you just insinuate that it's falling apart behind my back. Why do you close your mind off to the idea that a poly relationship can be strong, loving, and secure? You don't give the impression of seeking knowledge but rather someone desperately holding onto rhetoric.

You assume so much! My wife has had 3 partners in the 2 years we have been open. Just because she can fuck other people doesn't mean she doesn't have standards and just picks up whoever puts their hand up first. There are dates that go no where, there are some that stick around. The same goes for me. Every relationship has risks. There are people that get into poly for the wrong reasons, but some of us have happy loving relationships for the rest of our lives. Just like some monogamous people en…

I could say the same for you, what does that prove? I know people that have been poly for decades are are happy with their lives, maybe i will be one of them one day, maybe i won't. Every person takes the same risk with any kind of relationship.

I am in a polyamorous relationship and i am very happy. My wife and I can both explore as we please but we are also each others primary partners. Sometimes my wife goes on a date, sometimes i go on a date.

It works for some people, not for others. Relationships come in shades of grey and not black and white. what works for some doesn't for others. I'm in an open marriage and would happily answer questions if you have any.

I actually already answered these in the post your linking too, you probably didn't see it because a tidal wave of downvotes mysteriously came out of no where. SO STRANGE. Regardless i will copy and paste my previous answers here: why not just be single? Asking why not be single is the same as me asking why not just be poly? It is my preference for relationships for many different reasons, but one big reason is the freedom of exploring whatever I want to explore while also enjoying the security …

I won't deny that this happens. But it does in straight relationships too, so i'm not sure why being poly means that this will be the de facto end. I know couples that are poly and happy into old age. just because it doesn't work for you doesn't mean it doesn't work for everyone. You have to look past your assumptions and realize that maybe it's a good fit for some people, even if it's not for you.

That may be true. I'm not sure on the odds really because i don't see the other side. On the other hand i don't think it's as black and white as that and that relationships have their ups and downs, and it's especially hard when it's a queer relationship. But you make a good point regardless... but if that's the case then why all the hate? a lot of these posts are... cynical to say the least. If it's not for you then why hate on it instead of just ignoring it?

Hello TRP. I suspect this will just get down voted to nothing like all the pro non-monogomous posts on askmen did, but if anyone actually wants to ask any question at all from a man that is in a polyamorous open marriage i will answer your questions. I'm not looking to convince anyone that they should be poly, but i do contest that it can be a healthy and loving relationship. It isn't for everyone, but neither is monogamy. Just because it doesn't make sense to you doesn't mean other people can't…

I understand that a lot of you guys are upset at her for blaming the guy. I don't think she is suprised that she is being harassed like many of you claim (what did she expect for acting like a whore? etc), which is probably why she didn't use her real name in the first place. What i think she is fighting against is that she is harassed at all for doing nothing wrong, especially considering the hate about her being a whore is coming from a society that can't get enough porn. So my question to you…

What a fucking whiner! Just because people don't fit into what the author has deemed appropriate, or grown up, or lady like, then it's shameful. Fuck. that. People have the freedom to live whatever life they want. Just because it isn't what you think is right doesn't mean they shouldn't do it. If they are having fun, and being responsible, then leave them the fuck alone and go hang out with people that you like. Especially the sex thing. As if he is shaming women for being freaky in the sack. I …

I think slut shaming is a gender neutral thing to do. The only people that think its only men that slut shame are just extreme feminists imo

The problem probably wasn't that you think 29 is too much. That is your opinion. The problem the moderator probably had was that you said it was out of lady territory, that was the personal attack. Saying she wasn't a lady was derogatory, or at least that's how the mod saw it.

I have to point out it was pretty pathetic when he talked about having a "gut feeling" then jumped down their throats for anecdotal evidence. Almost all of his evidence is anecdotal. Doesn't mean he's wrong, but he shouldn't be throwing stones from a glass house. If he wanted to be taken more seriously he should have stuck to the study that he cited. Also for TRP i find it strange that you all seem ok with is emotional outburst when he called her a fucking idiot. I thought women were supposed to…

Where's the officer saying that? His comment is that you'll have fewer rape cases on a campus if college girls aren't sleeping around as much. I don't see how that's untrue. This is what i disagree with. It's a pretty bold claim to make. If a college girl sleeps around with 1000 guys it doesn't mean you don't need consent from her to touch her. A girl being promiscuous shouldn't have any bearing on whether or not she was raped. your next response was this: It's pretty commonly accepted around he…
