Countries have never gotten ready for war by getting the latest new equipment. Tgey always get the latest or the needed stuff as soon as they can, a modern army is a deterrent if it is up to date. Also there is no way a ground war will be doable between 2 world superpowers. It will have to be mostly hit and run at best. As far as I am aware, and this is speaking from the more engineering side of things. Mechanical minds and muscles are winning, the US has a problem since they are relying too much on mechanical muscles and meat minds alone. Men can do in average better in physical activities than women, but when it comes to what most people do, you just need some training, drive, and skills.
