It's the worst... I can still see her standing in our kitchen crying saying "this isn't working for me anymore", and " I haven't been happy for a long time". Yet we bought a house together, we were doing good, and even to all our family and friends, it came out of nowhere. I really do believe it when they say the woman checks out of the relationship long before the man, and that's why we are usually blindsided. I am truly sorry you are going though this man. I'm a little over 8 months out myself (2 months since the divorce was final) and let me say that the whole ordeal was the single hardest thing I've ever been through. I lost my house and everything in it because she decided she just wasn't "happy" anymore. That's a conversation I will remember for a long time. The whole process is difficult in so many ways. Oh man, I'm still going through the thick of divorce/separation myself, but reading this... man, you are so right. All I've seen so far has been the negative, but this reminded me that before the split last year, the ex had a whole family beach "vacation" planned for us as well. That was my own personal hell. Never an actual minute to rest and recharge, is this really what I used my PTO for? Thanks man, I really needed a bright side to look at!
