Seeing how you seem to have trouble reading the comment chain Really? I replied because you made a casual comment... Uhm no.. I looked up homeboy's very casual comment and found nothing to suggest men are more likely to be falsely accused. I found nothing to support his claim. I did find a series of sources that suggest otherwise. I also made a comment about your poor understanding of what a statistic is.. If you think a 26% chance of losing a game is the same as 26% of people who play lose, the…

You provided completely false information to back up your claims, in my book that's a lot worse. You notice how I used that word "allegedly"? See, here's how discussion works.. someone says something and claims it's true. I feel it's false or misleading, and make a comment as such. Now I'm asked to provide a source or citation. I'm asked what it is I looked up that would make me disagree with a statement, and I provide some examples. Would you care to address the original comment, and provide me…

And yet, a little lower in the conversation: https://www.reddit.com/r/MensRights/comments/5gmam0/the_full_truth_about_teach_men_not_to_rape/datk6zm/ So yes, I did look them up. If you continue reading on you see how I continually ask for the other side to source their opinion, but they're more interested in telling me what they think of my sources. It's great, because I'm asked to provide sources by a group of individuals who aren't offering any of their own. I merely disagreed with the redditor…

You mistake 25% chance as 25% of all women. That's not the same thing. A quarter has a 50/50 chance of being heads or tails. That's not the same statement as 50% of quarters are heads up and the others are showing tails. The statistic is women have a 25% chance of being raped. Not 25% of women have been/will be raped.

I'm more or less attempting to engage them in conversation. Someone made mention of a statstic that men are more likely to be accused of rape (falsely) than women are actually likely to be raped. After providing a handful of sources that suggest otherwise, I have quite a bit of responses in my inbox, but nothing that actually sources or cites anything to backup the previous claim, and EVERYONE has opinions on the information I provided, but nothing that actually reference or sources any data con…

Thanks for the insight. Care to elaborate? I've got like 25 responses to my inbox, but no one's actually referencing anything other than their own opinions. I'm not saying I'm fully investing in the "research" or "sources" I found, I'm merely suggesting that at least I found something that disagrees with the statement of "men are more likely to be accused of rape (falsely) than women are likely to actually be raped."

Care to offering any fine print of your own? You've offered literally 0 sources in your original post and your response, but can leave a passive insult.. I'm not saying I'm investing or holding stock in these sources, but here, I've offered a handful that suggest contrary to your statement.

THat's not what the statistic indicated. It's not 25% women are raped. Women, allegedly, have a 25% chance in their lifetime to be raped. Don't put much stock in it, however, as I've stated, it was a quick search from google. I merely disagreed with the redditor's claims that men are more likely to be accused falsely of rape than women are likely raped. The redditor replied back to "Read the fine print the studies before parroting talking points" without actually offering anything to back their …

I'm not a feminist. Or maybe I am.. who knows.. I didnt pull anything out of my ass, I responded to a redditor who dropped a quote of a statistic out of his ass. I'm not saying I'm fully investing in the "research" or "sources" I found, I'm merely suggesting that at least I found something that disagrees with his statement of "men are more likely to be accused of rape (falsely) than women are likely to actually be raped." That's all. I merely disagree with his statement. Someone asked for source…

Which is probably why it was clearly labeled "American" Men, and "American" women. I highly doubt they were including Mexican, Irish, French, or Danish national statistics in their survey. BUt yes, you're absolutely right. I'm sure each country has their own stats. S. Africa and Iraq would surely be far different that Fiji and the Netherlands..

Are you talking about American men in Denmark? Or Danish Men? I think the statistic of Danish Men would have nothing to do in the reporting of American Men and is a completely separate study/statistic... Is danish correct for Denmark? My American Ignorance of World Geography is clearly visible

Again, I said "quickly" looked up... http://www.ndaa.org/pdf/the_voice_vol_3_no_1_2009.pdf https://icdv.idaho.gov/conference/handouts/False-Allegations.pdf http://www.cdc.gov/violenceprevention/pdf/sv-datasheet-a.pdf http://psycnet.apa.org/index.cfm?fa=buy.optionToBuy&id=1987-28424-001 http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2014/may/02/are-20-percent-women-sexually-assaulted-they-gradu/ I see you didn't request the source or statistics of proper vetting for the commenter I replied to. I quickly looked up your "statistics" An American man has about a 2 to 8 percent chance of being falsely accused of rape in his lifetime. An American woman has a 25 to 26 percent chance of being raped in her lifetime.

Teaching: Don't Touch Things Unless It's Yours 1 Falsely implies everyone is a thief unless they are taught otherwise. 2 Teaches people not to defend their own property from thieves 3 Forces theft victims to be taught to not steal 4 Erases theft victims and thieves. 5 Assumes thieves will change when they're reminded its illegal to steal, when they already know 7 Enforces an idea of paranoia in others 8 Teaches people to not trust and look down on others. Did I do that right?
