No, a woman doesn't. When it comes to biology, women hold the ultimate trump card in that they KNOW they are the mother. The male can only hope. As long as he thinks he's the father, that's all that he can go by. Thus, the sneaking female. And once pregnant, which male do you think she is going to say is the father? The one best able to provide for her child. Unfortunately, a lot of guys still seem to think this is the norm for modern women.

In most of the newer studies, the infidelity rates are about the same with women and men. I can believe they are under reported, especially on campus. When I was 20, I had recently broken up with a long-time boyfriend (my second), so my roommate and I went to her boyfriend's. His roommate was there and wanted to play a drinking game. Well, shots creep up on you really quick, and next thing I knew, I regained consciousness to the guy having sex with me. It would be nice if there was a reliable form of bc for men other than sterilization. Men should be able to have control over that aspect of their bodies, and as a woman, frankly it would be nice not to be the one who always has to deal with birth control. I do wonder about potential side effects. The way oral bc works on a woman is by duplicating pregnancy hormones. Those are hormonal responses our bodies were designed to handle. Yeah, because it is central to it. The judge found him guilty of rape (i.e. forced sex). Not me. Not society. The judge then decided that this guy must have been confused because, even though she said no, she had on heels and a tube top and makeup, so even though he raped her, he thought that she wanted it. I think that's pretty insulting to the guy.

Anyway, he was convicted by that same judge, but the judge deemed since she was wearing a tube top, she was sending out signals that she wanted sex, so even though she said no, he got confused and raped her. I think it's insulting to men and women if he actually believes that.

If you read more about the story (and I have) there was not a question (even by the guy accused) as to whether or not he raped her. It was forced sex. Then again, I suppose the popular thing nowadays is to imply that even convicted rapists are just victims of the feminist machine. I suggest you do some research on the facts of this case, then comment rather than speculate as to what "grey" area this "may fall" into.

I'm tired of seeing this story paraded as a men's rights issue. The guy was convicted of rape. Only in sentencing him the judge decided since the woman he raped was wearing a tube top, he shouldn't even go to jail. Canada has since enacted mandatory minimum sentences for sexual assault, but this one occurred right before those came into effect. This isn't a men's issue unless you are suggesting men are rapists.

Why is it that you seem to think feminists and men's rights can't work together? I think when each has the true sentiment behind it, the goal can be the same. Take paternity leave. I think all men should be absolutely encouraged to take paternity leave if they choose. Traditionally, women were often passed up for jobs using the reasoning that if they ever had a kid they would have to take maternity leave. If there is an equal chance a man would take paternity leave, that kind of sexism disappear…

No. It was proven that he raped her, thus the sentencing. The judge decided that since she was wearing a tube top that raping her deserved less than the current minimum time. This article explains that when she went into the bushes to pee, he followed her and raped her. I think it's insulting to even have this as a mensrights issue. Is OP suggesting rapists' rights are a men's issue?

I would like to see all fathers take paternity leave. It takes the burden off of women as being seen as the ones who are "expected" to take a maternity leave. I'm interested to see what the details of the case are and how this plays out.

I also don't like statements like that. Women are subjected to the same thing, often when it comes to failings with child-rearing, etc. I fully believe in judging people on their individual merits and see no reason to even include sex in that.
