Had to do a bit of research. From what I get it exists a rule "possession d'état" (hard to translate would probably be "paternity by status") that could explain it. Basically if you have recognized the child as yours and raised him/her for more than 5 years you will considered as the father no matter what. Even if you prove afterward that the child isn't yours.
