Makes sense to me. Obviously murder and the like doesn't fit. Harassment or similar charges would be a slap on the wrist and set a bad example. They're going for maximum punishment they can legally pin on her. If that kind of encouragement, bullying, and deceptiveness could be cause for conviction of murder, I'd support it 100%. They can choose to be more lenient, if given a reason. Maybe if she were helping them, or was apologetic, or it was some sort of accident/misunderstanding. I'm not surprised at all they cuffed her the absolute instant they had a reason, she was acting a fool and making everyone's day harder.

I agree that spending life in prison is worse.
