I'm not a mental health professional but my dad did have other mental health issues. His mother was evil to everyone but him & a pathological liar herself so there most likely was a weird relationship dynamic between them. As an aside - the sub Reddit TwoXChromosomes banned me for posting in this subreddit

I got banned for posting here too. They have accused me of instigating "significant drama" by posting about it in r/banned. My post got 11 upvotes & 9 comments...if that's significant drama - SMH Edit:had too many "too"s

You are so correct. Because of the living with him, I can connect dots from random conversations and make accurate conclusions. A former boss even accused me of eavesdropping which wasn't true. I just happen to have conversations with six or seven people over the course of a couple of weeks and drew conclusions. I thought everyone could do it. I've since learned everyone can't and to explain my reasoning step by step. Sometimes I can't even explain how the dots connect but I'm usually right.

Trying growing up with one as a parent. Upside, I can spot a liar a mile away.

My dad was a pathological liar. It's not that they actively believe or don't believe what they are saying. Their brains transform memories to their current reality to protect themselves. As in this case, you could have video and their brains will make up excuses for their behavior.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
