| 0 | Circumcision To Only Be Done When Boys Are Able To Consent, Says Medical AssociationHey! I didn't think I'd get any response on this one. So, I'm accepting the premise that they terribly wronged/hurt him. He certainly believes that. What is the best thing that can happen now? He can be angry forever, or he can eventually forgive them. Plus, it doesn't sound like forgiving them would be easy. Maybe I accidentally made it sound that way. I'm sure that if his circumcision so damaging, then forgiveness would be extremely difficult. That is part of what makes attempting it so import… | /r/MensRights | 30/04/17 11:52 PM |
| 4 | Circumcision To Only Be Done When Boys Are Able To Consent, Says Medical AssociationHuh. Well that's awful. I thought it was a routine and universally similar procedure. | /r/MensRights | 30/04/17 10:08 PM |
| 0 | Circumcision To Only Be Done When Boys Are Able To Consent, Says Medical AssociationThat is very interesting, but I'm not sure I agree on it's relevance. I don't profess any opinion on why circumcision started, except believing to some extent that it was started by early jews. Nor do I consider this proof that circumcision is detrimental to the circumcised. I believe my parents circumcised me as a profession of faith, and intent to raise me in a Christian way. As well as to represent their intention of dedicating me to their God. Perhaps I might take umbrage at them modifying m… | /r/MensRights | 30/04/17 09:59 PM |
| 1 | Circumcision To Only Be Done When Boys Are Able To Consent, Says Medical AssociationPerhaps I was too quick while reading. I'll take a look. | /r/MensRights | 30/04/17 09:43 PM |
| 1 | I could use some help opening my friends eyes..Everyone is a person. Even misogynists. Instead of using perceived disagreements and pejoratives to dismiss what someone says, please ask them to talk to somebody, anybody, in the movement. It's possible they'd get a bad egg. But dismissing a whole group of people with a single defamation is just another type of discrimination. I was listening to NPR, and heard this story about a Jew who met a KKK leader, and convinced him to leave the movement through kindness. I recommend it, and found it inte… | /r/MensRights | 30/04/17 09:38 PM |
| 1 | Circumcision To Only Be Done When Boys Are Able To Consent, Says Medical AssociationThis to me seems one more step of the intrusion of the government into family and religious business. But maybe I'm ignorant. Many of you seem convinced circumcision is harmful throughout life. Why? Ps. I'm circumcised, and have always considered it normal. I don't feel like I'm missing out, or that my sensation is lacking. Am I truly missing out? | /r/MensRights | 30/04/17 09:26 PM |
| -2 | Circumcision To Only Be Done When Boys Are Able To Consent, Says Medical AssociationI can see that you thing something was taken from you. But it can't be changed now. Why not forgive your parents? They thought they were doing the right thing. Your dad is probably circumcised, or was told by his doctor it was a healthy thing to do. Put yourself in their shoes. | /r/MensRights | 30/04/17 09:23 PM |
| -5 | Circumcision To Only Be Done When Boys Are Able To Consent, Says Medical AssociationI can see why you consider these studies indicative. But not why you consider them definitive. These studies on pain were done on animals, and many of the specific conclusions are only supported by one study each. Thank you for sharing, but please don't present hypothesis as fact. | /r/MensRights | 30/04/17 09:20 PM |
| -2 | Circumcision To Only Be Done When Boys Are Able To Consent, Says Medical AssociationI was also confused CandyGuy, you aren't alone. I've always though of it as a religious decision. I'm sorry you're getting vitriol for instigating discussion. If I was convinced that infant circumcision did actual harm, I think I would change my opinion. But lacking that, I don't like the government being involved in anything to do with the family or religion. | /r/MensRights | 30/04/17 09:15 PM |
