Just to add my $0.02, he is giving you good advice, but you're not necessarily "fucking up." There's a certain way to behave with ONS and plates, and another if you're gunning for LTRs. Intimate details should be reserved only for the latter, and only if you're sure about moving the relationship forward. Getting personal defeats the purpose and success rate of casual affairs. If a girl wants to keep things casual too, she will push you away for trying to get intimate.

You should definitely get around to reading The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged. Especially in the former, there's more wisdom per page than almost any other books I know.

I do not think your wife should ever even have the opportunity to cheat If your wife even has the intention to cheat, you've already lost the most important battle. Any efforts to prevent it will only further convince her she can do better, but even so, some women will stray no matter how good you are. Also, to take this further, I think a lot of women do not have an intrinsic understanding of why sexual fidelity is such a huge deal to men. Perhaps they understand it at the abstract level, but s…

Or that if you go farther back in history that you'll find a time when hypergamy wasn't so strong. You won't find a time when hypergamy was weaker, only times when men were stronger and smarter.

Yeah, I thought it was the Trojan War, but the vagueness threw me off, so I left it at that.

I suspected it was the Trojan War, but the way Jerome described it threw me off. I thought Helen had been seduced and eloped with Paris, not raped, and his mentioning "Europe vs. Asia" instead of the more specific "Trojans vs. Achaeans" also confused me.

Ohhh yes they can. Source: my older sister boasted of spending years scheming to trick her husband into knocking her up a few more times. It worked, he believes they were all "accidents." She feels no guilt about it.

From what I gather, basically it's the point where your confidence in yourself rubs off on her. Insecurity is the root of all hypergamy, so once she's feels secure about your value and desire for her (your genuine desire is the only guarantor in her mind that you'll stick around), the anxiety and testiness eases up. Hypergamous behavior is analogous to how anxious pets will tear up your house when you're gone. Pets see their owners as Alphas, and when their owner is suddenly absent or unable to …

Right. I've come to believe that what most men want is not pure casual sex - just sex on our own terms for a change.

For me at least, I often find it hard to ignore the risks and unknowns involved with fucking new girls, and that certainly dampens my arousal. It may all come down to tolerance for risk and impulsivity. She could turn out crazy, or clingy, or infected, or have a boyfriend or spouse who'll come after me. She might regret it after the fact, no matter how much fun it is in the moment (dealt with that once before, most terrifying night/morning of my life). The fact that hookups happen so quickly and…

Yeah see... I don't wanna get anybody pregnant. It would literally ruin my life, and put an end to all my freedom and ambitions. The problem is how to maximize sexuality while minimizing fertility. Yet the two are deeply intertwined. The more sexually attractive you are, the more a woman wants you (consciously or unconsciously) to knock her up. Plus, the better your sexual performance and her sexual enjoyment, the better chance of actually succeeding. I know that's why contraceptives were invent…

See yourself without needing to shit on or change yourself, and then you can do the same with others. I think this essay very nicely complements the message you're getting across here, OP. Overall, I find the philosophy touted by Dr. Apfelbaum in his numerous writings to be extremely helpful in coming to terms with one's emotions, thoughts, and sense of self. I recommend it to anyone who struggles with internal conflict and self-efficacy.

I'll agree, the reasoning he gives against sex-as-procreation is the weakest, and the one I'm least convinced by. But I think he does a fine job of critiquing our non-procreative illusions about what sex means or should be.

the SMV is one of totally different currencies and a garbage exchange rate. I agree, as it stands right now the transaction is highly unequal. The things a man typically offers (physique/money/status/provisioning) are of far greater objective value than what he often gets in return: casual, non-procreative, non-exclusive sex. What allows this transaction to function is the exorbitant subjective value placed on sex. Quoth the Book of Pook: p. 144: Feminists desire a dull gray androgenous world wi…

he repeatedly states Freud is repressed On the contrary, Dr. Apfelbaum claims there is nothing preventing Freud from attempting to fulfill his fantasies, except his own feeling of un-entitlement and the unavoidable chasm between fantasy and reality. We develop sexual fantasies long before we experience sex in real life. They are not informed by reality. Yet we judge fantasies as the way sex should be, and the reality as what it shouldn't be.

it completely dismisses theories that don't completely explain all phenomena we see in sexual interaction. It does not dismiss them. It merely states what you said, that each is an incomplete explanation of sex on its own. "Sex isn't about reproduction" He never says this. He says it isn't only about reproduction, which is the same as what you imply when you say "clearly it is, at least in part."

Women give up sex . . . You can get sex from her without promising her anything directly, merely hinting and stringing her along . . . You don't actually have to do it to get laid, but if you drop enough hints, many amateurs will drop their panties in expectation of a later payoff. You make it sound like no woman would have (or enjoy) sex with a man without the expectation or promise of compensation outside the act. That sex must be justified in order for her to accept it. I'm afraid this will o…

Real social science, and psychology in general, suffer from huge problems in attempting to be scientific. The majority of studies fail to replicate, even though the level of rigor is below that of fields like physics/chemistry/bio. It's full of biases, conflicting agendas, and statistical abuse. The level of empiricism and certainty you're expecting just isn't there.

I addressed this in my post. See my reference to the "seven-year itch." Hypergamy and tingles is why women cheat. Failure to reproduce is why they keep doing it. And after she succeeds, on to the next guy to diversify her offspring.

women respond to male faces How do they measure this response? Do they say they like them more? Do they find them more attractive, and even so, do they mean it in a sexual sense? less testosterone How much less? Less than average? If she prefers someone like Schwarzenegger when she's ovulating, and someone like Gosling the rest of the time, the point is pretty moot.

Women take birth control and this affects their hormones. This is a whole other factor I've been looking into. Estradiol and progesterone are released during the luteal phase by the corpus luteum, which develops after the follicle has released the egg for fertilization. These hormones stimulate the endometrial glands to develop the endometrium, which is where the embryo will implant if successfully fertilized. So basically, the message these hormones send is: "egg already released and ready to b…

They are "tractable," to an extent, but that doesn't make the desire go away. Also, I was referring to the uterus metaphorically, same as when we say men think with their dicks :)

Right, we're basically pretending to reproduce by using birth control and condoms. Our bodies can't feel much of a difference, so we feel rewarded and validated all the same.

it only lasts if you're at the top of the pile. The problem with that is nobody's king of the hill forever. True, women are always attracted to the top, but the top is always changing. Plus it's context-dependent, and that's a whole other mess to untangle.

They can fuck without attraction if fucking will get them something. Correction: they can get fucked in order to get something. They really don't have to do anything, just let the man do the work he loves doing. Many men will accept starfish sex. Sex and sexual arousal are not tied together for women as they are for men. For women, not even love and sex are tied together. From the moment they become sexually mature, even average women are spammed with sexual attention. What kind of moron would s…

By loyalty, I meant the lasting kind (y'know, the bluepill fantasy). But indeed, what you suggest is how things used to work. Women in ye olden days averaged about 8-12 children, and they started childbearing by their late teens. This was the smart choice back then, because 1) people didn't live very long, and 2) most kids wouldn't survive childhood. That's almost 8-10 of her prime fertile years spent off the market, so there'd be no time left to spend on the CC (if there even was one back then)…

This all occurred shortly after she tried to get me to have a kid with her and got denied I wonder if this is one of, if not the primary reason women cheat. Wife wants a child, and you won't give it to her? She'll find someone who will. Been going steady with your college girlfriend, always using contraception? Her subconscious thinks you're infertile, and is worried she's wasting her prime fertility years with you. Better find Chad to speed things along. Sex is all about reproduction anyhow.

This is not a criticism in the sense of disapproval, but it's obvious you value the process and reasoning behind the sex more than the sex itself. You want to be desired for the "right" reasons, for "who you are," not the money you make or whatever. The unfortunate truth is men and women are sexually attracted to traits, and not the people who carry them. Girls don't desire certain looks/personality/game because you have them; they desire you because you have certain looks/personality/game. If B…

Adam & Eve Speaking of that, I'd like to point out Adam's seduction by Eve and subsequent banishment from the garden was derived from Enkidu's seduction by a prostitute and subsequent banishment from the wilderness. EOG: She was not ashamed to take him, she made herself naked and welcomed his eagerness; as he lay on her murmuring love she taught him the woman's art. For six days and seven nights they lay together, for Enkidu had forgotten his home in the hills; but when he was satisfied he went …

I agree, but I would stress that a high partner count is a symptom and not the source of such behavior, and to exercise caution with all women no matter how chaste. Just because a woman doesn't act on her desires and maintains a low partner count (as far as you know), doesn't mean she isn't tempted or doesn't fantasize about it.

Just because you are objectively better than the other guy in every way SMV-wise, does not mean she won't open her legs to him, all the same. Many people don't realize that sex is just as much about achieving genetic diversity as it is genetic superiority. You can't achieve the former very well through strict monogamy, and "superiority" is a subjective term anyway.

I believe women have self-control/conscience/etc., it's just that their primal instincts tell them to do the exact opposite. Some that I have talked to have shown surprising awareness and understanding of their faulty instincts and desires, and yet they make no effort to change. Women trust their feelings far more than their reasoning, and have an amazing ability to experience cognitive dissonance without having to resolve it, unlike men.

Yeah, status matters more if the woman plans on branch-swinging, not so much if it's just a fling. I imagine he must not have been very good-looking or game-aware if she told him off like that.

The goal of the female sex drive is to maximize 1) offspring quality and 2) offspring survival, and it will do so with ruthless efficiency if possible. So yeah, if a guy with superior qualities offers his genes to your girl, and she is sure she will never bear consequences for it (i.e. nobody will find out, or she can avert responsibility for her actions), she will accept it. Your only defense is to be the highest quality man possible, as well as making it crystal clear you can walk away at the …

sex is about psychological bonding, not physical stimulation Bonding is nice, but sex is about reproduction, for which physical stimulation/orgasm is essential (for the male at least). The ubiquity of contraception makes us forget that tiny fact. I do agree though that many people pursue sex primarily for its psychological effects nowadays. Nothing beats the psychological bond between two lovers She'll forget about that bond real quick when someone new comes up.

Ah, this is something I forgot to clarify. Being sexually attractive and a good provider will get you the most attention, better relationships, and the best success rate overall. However, the downside is girls will do their best to take advantage of your provider traits, which is costly to you. Also, over the course of a relationship, female sexual attraction tends to decrease while desire for commitment increases, leading to diminishing returns for you. It is possible to resist this trend indef…

I'm gonna generalize this response for all potential provider traits, not just your charitability. The short unfortunate truth is, if you CAN provide - and a potential plate sees signs of this - you WILL be considered a potential provider. This could be time/attention/money/whatever else she wants. Whether or not you want to provide for her is mostly irrelevant (she sees it as her job to convince/seduce you anyway). Furthermore, being sexually attractive (i.e. Alpha Bucks material) doesn't quite…

It was always my hope that being high-SMV enough could save a man from being thrown under the bus by a woman. Apparently not so. By all appearances, OP's SMV is as high as any man's could be outside of stardom. If anything, high-status men (frat bros, athletes, celebrities) are the most prominent targets of accusations when a girl feels she's been short-changed. It seems Alpha tingles are not the trump card they're made out to be, if the girl in this case chose to retain Jeff's Beta provisioning…

I like comparing it to gravity. Most of us single guys are out drifting in space, and encounters with women are sort of like planetary encounters. If you don't understand orbital mechanics (e.g. game, laws of attraction), you're bound to get sucked into the gravity well and crash-land into a shitty relationship, or simply (r)ejected back into space. If you know a little bit (e.g. Beta game), you can also get yourself stuck in orbit (no need to explain that analogy). But if you know how to play t…

I agree, it all serves a similar purpose and has the same risk profile as porn does for men. The fact that a woman is content to skip out on sex with the vast majority of men speaks volumes about the value they place on sex itself. There always has to be something else to make the process of sex worthwhile (money, provisioning, good genes, etc). This contrasts hugely with men, many of whom view sex as something priceless and pursue it as an end in itself. I guess that's the fundamental differenc…
