It's pretty good. Go for it.

I'm from a northern post-industrial city and I've absolutely seen both sides of that too.

I mean hey, do whatever you want. I don't have any say in whose anus you put your mouth on.

I won't try to convince you, and that really might be true, but I think the good programs do a good job of inuring people against horseshit.

You remind me a bit of the authoritarians of yore who were so obsessed with sexual goings-on. It warms my heart that there are still some left alive.

Indeed. And I think the sciences aren't bad at it either.

God forbid that you actually think about shit.

I mean, the Ivy League is an athletic conference. It would be hard to expect those eight to come up with any sort of uniform policy. Cornell College of Arts & Sciences: Four courses in Physical & Biological Sciences (PBS-AS) and Mathematics & Quantitative Reasoning (MQR-AS): Students must take 2 courses in Physical & Biological Sciences (PBS), 1 in Mathematics & Quantitative Reasoning (MQR), and 1 course that is either in PBS-AS or MQR-AS. So if you're going for a liberal arts degree (hence Arts…

Actually, clearly, men are the best at being women.

College isn't for everyone. Some people don't really do critical thinking.

If men are better than women at doing things (OP's premise), surely men are also pretty good at being women.

This sounds like a stupid mistake. Barely literate employee (or rushed employee) sees "breast cancer." Employee puts sign in women's bathroom. Not everything has to be done to advance an agenda. Sometimes a fuckup is just a fuckup and not an indication of a vast right-wing conspiracy. Or whatever.

The private school point he makes doesn't really apply to this situation. It is a public school.

I've decided to never buy a graphic tee again. Getting a bit old for that anyway. Dress shirts from here on out.

What sorts of tests do newborns go through?

Yeah. That's a California thing. We are harsher on repeat offenders in general in the US though.

In New York, we use assault to refer to battery and menacing to refer to assault.

The word 'raped' has a commonly understood meaning. You're using it differently. Nobody is minimizing your suffering by telling you to go get another word. 'Mutilated' gets the point across.

Not necessarily the case. EDIT: It's rape when the 'perpetrator' knows the victim cannot meaningfully consent. The element of mens rea seems to be essential. Of course, maybe I just don't know what I'm talking about. I guess the other 95,710 people on the sub could just be lawyers.

There are a lot of good reasons to drop out of law. The market might be better in a few years, but it's not that great now.

That would be slightly more objective, but it's hard to say that what you're measuring is really attraction.

I think it's reasonable to say that sex reassignment surgery might be the best option for people who have had the pervasive feeling from early youth that they're the other gender. Ultimately it comes down to whatever is least destructive for that person. Body and mind. If it ends up being something ostensibly in-born and neurological like homosexuality, it's probably destructive to insist that their gender is the same as their birth sex.

Some proportion of people really do believe it. Some proportion are being disingenuous. I am leaning towards disingenuous for the majority, because the only time I've encountered otherkin-ry in person was from a person who was obviously deeply disingenuous and claimed to see into the future. I now just leave the room when it's clear that someone is retarded.

Recant? You mean that you deny and withdraw from your position with regard to those days?

Some people think that what I need is a hole in my head to relieve my headaches. I'm inclined not to believe those people. I'm also inclined not to believe the Daily Mail. They're not really good about fact checking. Really, tabloid journalists in general could all disappear one day and you wouldn't hear the slightest peep of a complaint out of me.

I'm still going to downvote it. No offense to you personally. I can link Fox News on absolutely every story, but I'm not obligated to. Why not just link to the New York State Police press release?

Downvoted for Daily Mail.

Would you please not link to these people in the future? It's intended to be inflammatory, and we're playing right into their hands.

I myself left primary school with a permanently collapsed skull, all but three of my ribs broken, my nose straight only because it had been broken so many times it had averaged out... I was whipped (I have my back covered with scars from the whipping), I was stoned on many occasions by groups of more than 30 children, I was stabbed, I seldom had both eyes not black or my nose not bleeding for more than 24 hours, I was pushed off cliffs, I was shot, I was kicked in the balls pretty regularly (mai…
