For anyone interested, there's a men-only homeless shelter named Earl's Place. It's a really great organization and I've met some of the men who live there and made a donation myself. It's the only men-only shelter I know of in the US, and I couldn't be more happy it exists

I just saw a lot of misguided hate. Its important to be angry about things that are actually happening rather than blowing things way out of proportion fem style

I do think this is discriminatory but know that men aren't paying anything extra or more than they usually pay. The store owner is just paying the sales tax for female customers out of pocket.

My local barbershop has a sign in the window that says its for men only. Women have tried to challenge this and they will cut their hair but only do men's cuts

Its kind of weird hearing anyone tell gay men what their views should be because they are part of a grouping based on sexuality.

Yep, in the end I really hope all the rational people are fighting for the same kind of unity

That's usually what banks do, just this time they happen to be giving the money to this specific cause. When you put money in the bank it only exists as a number, the actual currency is immediately spent.

I would say most MRAs consider themselves egalitarian. What I will say though is that for a movement that puts so much emphasis on language and word gendering, the use of the words feminism and patriarchy seem kind of conspicuous.

Because I can't even begin to comprehend all of the social rules, pressures, and expectations that being raised in Japan brings. I'm not saying Japan is another planet, but theres a reason they have such a high suicide rate. Or look up hikikomori and dokuo (which are also serious men's issues). Not to mention Japanese censorship laws and how sexuality is portrayed in Japanese media in clean anime and manga as well as pornography. I just dont think that any gender relations paradigms or data from…

I'm not Japanese, but I dont think my life is comparable to that of someone raised in Japan.

I think because Japanese culture is so radically different in many fundamental ways from western society, so our societies are not directly comparable.
