According to male incels women can't be incels because they can just grab any random dude and that dude will be willing to have sex with them, so all women that are celibate are so by choice not involuntarily.

But... no one is impressed by a 2plate bench like OP has, especially when they are a 5'6" manlet.

Nearly every person that has a "fast metabolism" and "eats a ton of food" in vastly underestimating how much food they are actually eating. "Eating at a surplus" is defined as eating enough food to gain weight, if you're not gaining you're not eating at a surplus 99% of the time

Just because you have a shit total after 4 years doesn't mean you are an advanced lifter

intensity in lifting terms refers to the proportion of weight to what your max is not "being intense". So low volume high intensity is going to be less reps at higher weight.

Usually for weight loss a calorie deficit of 500kcal/day is recommended so you're binging 15,000 calories in 2 sittings? That's pretty impressive.
/r/PussyPassDenied22/03/17 04:28 PM

Make sure your fat levels are high enough, without enough fat in your diet when cutting it can fuck up your hormones.

You should mention weight progression so he isn't just going in and doing a random/the same weight each time he is at the gym. Also as a beginner there is absolutely no reason to only do one 5x5 of each lift once a week, he could easily run something like SS or SL for a couple months while losing weight.

Warming up with 315 is probably a terrible idea. And I've yet to find a woman impressed by a certain number of plates on the bar.

Also plenty of people hop on and don't really "look" like they are on, most people think that they are a replacement for hard work when in reality they just allow you to work harder and get results faster. Plenty of people that go on aren't training effectively to begin with so their results are less than stellar.

I actually lift at a powerlifting gym now, but I still like lifting on my own I'm fairly experienced though.

I honestly hate lifting with other people, I use it as mental health time and I'm much less focused in a group and my training (I'm a powerlifter) suffers for it. Plus at a globo-gym I never had anyone that was using remotely the same amount of weight as I am or the type of training I do so it's lots of loading/unloading of plates.

mixed sex gyms make those spaces unavailable - which creates yet another obstacle to men for improving themselves. lol this is the most hilarious thing I've ever read. Why the fuck is having women around the gym any hinderance to your own lifting. Put your goddamn headphones in and lift. Jesus.

inb4 DYELs acting like 100 pounds is some big deal Umm 100lbs is a fuckton difference when talking about the upper limit on strength. 200->300lbs on a squat is trivial to attain, going from 400 to 500 was a fuckton of work. And this is coming from someone that has actually squatted 500lbs in competition.

So how much do you lift with all that work you're putting in?

I wasn't vague it's called being facetious, it was also generalizing to make a point. 99% of the time overtraining symptoms are due to not eating or sleeping enough and not actual CNS fatigue. If you're an elite athlete you might hit actual overtraining but other than that it isn't applicable. What the person above me was saying was really over extending yourself into injury. Overtraining doesn't actually result in injury but loss of strength and aerobic capacity, constant fatigue, depression, a…

Which goes to my point of "just under eating and under sleeping" most people that hit that wall really just didn't eat and sleep enough and couldn't recover properly...
/r/TheRedPill21/11/14 05:13 PM

It is just a quip which applies to most every person at the gym... with as many times as I've heard of people saying they are "overtrained" it is a damned good rule of thumb and not something to be taken literally.
/r/TheRedPill21/11/14 05:12 PM
5

There is but 99% of the population will never train hard enough to hit it... and in most of those cases if they ate and slept better they wouldn't have hit it.

I love the "but roids" argument that always comes up. I know of quite a few natural powerlifters that train harder, and more frequently than 99% of the people claiming they "overtrained"... those guys aren't roiding, they are just eating everything in sight and sleeping 8+ hours a night.

Overtraining isn't the same thing as injuring yourself by over extending your abilities. Overtraining is training at an intensity and frequency that your body can not properly recover. If you're not a pro athlete training 8 hours a day the chances of this happening due to actually overtraining and not just not eating and sleeping enough is slim to none.

There is no such thing as over training... just under eating and under sleeping. edit: since you idiots seem to be dense and are taking this waaaay too literally. Yes, overtraining is a thing that can happen. The vast majority of people that get similar symptoms, it is due to lack of proper recovery (aka eating or sleeping enough) and getting 8 hours of sleep and 3000 calories a day will solve any issues they had. Legit overtaining which has to do with over exerting your CNS rather than just lac…

the gym is honestly a boring and superficial subject I don't think you've ever have been or talked to someone that trains for something competitive. I have plenty of in-depth conversations about training with other people that have similar goals/interests. It's a lot of fun. And a lot of fun when you redpillers downvote the living crap out of me posting some context... PL routines push your body/mind a lot further than what you think you can. Though it sometimes comes with a price.

SL and similar programs have built in deloads and times where you are supposed to move on to a different program. IIRC you're supposed to do something like 3 deloads before going to 3x5 then if that doesn't work it's time for something like Texas Method or another weekly progression program, when you can't keep up the pace of that, you move on to monthly progression (5/3/1 among others). Usually SL and/or SS are only able to be run by the book for about 3-5 months depending on how hard you're bu…

It's about time to switch it up. I may see your problem. I've only been lifting for about 3.5 years now but consistency is key when wanting to progress. Program hoppers are the worst.

Most PLers give numbers in the order that you do them at powerlifting meets, so those numbers are squat/bench/deadlift I'm fairly balanced though my deadlift has always been stupidly high. You're doing a cycle with those numbers? That seems a bit... premature.

Not to be an ass, but how heavy were you going? I never really felt too bad when doing 5/3/1 or when my numbers were 100lbs less. I've also been told that with some of these Russian 12 week programs there is a supercompensation after the program, it beats the shit out of you for 12 weeks, ends up lowering free test, but you rebound higher in strength and test after for about a week (when you compete) To get an idea of the program I ran when I actually felt horny as hell after this was it (I thin…

Depends on the type of workout honestly. Doing something like Mag/Ort, Smolov Jr, Russian Extended, or any of the Sheikos as a natural lifter leaves you beat to shit most days. Talking to a friend of mine who normally does BBing type workouts when I put him on Mag/Ort (I posted one of my numbers from the last time I did it in this thread) he noted the same thing just not throughout the week, just that day and the next, as he was doing his normal BB programming outside of that routine, where I'm …

That was my second time through Magnusson/Ortmayer... the "work sets" are the 4 sets of 4, the two doubles, then the rep out at the end. The 4x4 is fairly light, you start out at 70% of your 1RM. The first 5 sets were just warm-ups to get my hips and back ready to go. Depending on your training level, 5/3/1 isn't very good for deadlifts, once I hit ~500lbs for my max 5/3/1 did jack for my deadlift (worked decently well up to that point though). If you're still increasing your weights on 5/3/1 I'…

Just providing context, a lot of people say they "train hard" and they go in and squat 225 a few times and then use the machines and go home. My body is constantly beat up.

I mean I don't have disinterest but it was much different than when I took a week off, when I wasn't lifting at all I could barely keep sex out of my head, most of the time when I train hard I am not actively seeking it out or feel the need to.

Okay lets put this in perspective and show you what I consider a "heavy" workout. I personally have a lower sex drive when lifting heavy shit consistently. I thought it had to do with being in my mid/late 20s... took a week off right before a competition and I was all "holy shit this is what it's like to be horny again"

True, but just because they are aiming something at a gender doesn't mean it is applicable across the board... or that you have do be gender neutral in all advice giving. Sometimes there is a prevalence of one issue with a gender more than others, I know #2 comes up with a lot of guys.

chisel verb : to cut or shape (something) with a chisel You can't add material with a chisel. So using chiseling in the sense that you are trying to... is incorrect. You can chisel away fat through diet, but if you're chiseling muscle... by definition you are taking it away not making it look better/bigger.

Personally I find people think they need to do waaaay too much accessory work to progress their lifts. Unless there are glaring issues, squatting more will improve your squat and benching more will improve your bench... that is rather than 3 different tricep isolation exercises to improve your lockout... bench more. Rather than isolating your core squat and front squat more.

Pretty sure anyone hitting a 40lb PR will collapse a bit. I do front squats and one handed deadlifts to work on my "core" even then, I don't actually train them that often. For shits and giggles though, last night I did some ab-wheel rollouts and could do 5 sets of 10 from my knees to nose-to-ground. I'm not saying "fuck core" I'm saying "fuck direct core work if it isn't a weak point for you", my core isn't really holding my (competition) lifts back it however is probably holding back my front …

FTA: how likely female online daters were to contact a men that was 5’9″ or under when she viewed his profile This wasn't a response rate, this was actually an initiation rate, which I'd assume would be fairly low to begin with, but that number is useless without knowing the average rate.

/r/gainit and /r/loseit have countless stories of people like you and your friend that think they can't lose/gain weight but actually can. Your buddy can lose weight without working out and you just aren't eating enough, you need to track your calories and if you aren't gaining eat a couple hundred more a day.

To be fair you have control over your weight were the short people have no control of their height. If you wanted to do something about it head over to /r/loseit and /r/fitness Also 6'2" and 175 is rather skinny. 6'2" and ~200lbs with some muscle would be a lot of younger women's "ideal" though I've found slightly older women in my age range, that is mid/late 20s will actually go for more built guys rather than the skinny guys the girls in their early 20s seem to be into.

The main reason those "fat" people were seen as attractive was because they were associated with welth and the ability to over eat. Also, those "fat" people are nothing like what our fat people today are, the larger women depicted in older art usually aren't the same size as the obese people of today.
