Yeah that’s my plan, I probably could have been clearer in my original post. I could technically move out now but I am 12 months away from a promotion and about 2 years away from hitting a savings goal. Once I achieve both of those I’ll leave home. The 3rd year is contingency for stuff to go wrong.

I have a 12 month emergency fund, a small deposit and can comfortably cover living expenses with £500 spare each month. BUT, it means taking on a load of debt and locking money into a property. When in my opinion the ROI will be better in the stock market. BUT, the freedom and privacy also has a benefit

My parents don’t mind me staying. I’m not helping them health wise because they are still relatively young (50s). To be honest I do want to branch out eventually and do my own thing in life, maybe live abroad so getting tied down into family commitments is not what I’m looking for. Finances are in a good place, no debt, house deposit, average salary but nothing amazing about that

Nope. You would have big cash withdrawals and the judge would think you toke the money out to keep it for yourself. If your married then that’s half her money and you can’t just steal it. Any attempt to do so and getting caught will likely make the judge give her EVERYTHING

Because when the lawyers review the statements they will see he purchased bitcoin and the judge will come down hard on him for hiding assets. If he gets cashback then the statements will show that he spent a little extra at Walmart. They can’t penalise him for his expensive taste in food.
