Good friend of mine, not a simp but married and busy as hell. After I moved away it has been hard to get time to talk because we like to talk for hours. Couple weeks ago I sent him a post card formally inviting him to have a conversation haha. We talked less than a week after. No hard feelings with the guy, I’m happy to know him and thought it was a hilarious way to connect.

He’s a good man and I feel for him, has more potential than the physical work he does. Gets paid good but when his body wears out I feel he will have to enter a new industry. Not my problem though. Haven’t had sex in a few years. I’ve been tempted to date again twice and got on tinder, exhausted my area and didn’t find one match that may be a good potential. Overall it’s not that bad. I’ve done so much for myself in those years it’s amazing. I’ve gotten a couple invites in the wild that got me thinking but in the end it’s just not worth it. Overtime you’ll learn these reasons of your observant. I’d just recommend the “being careful” aspect, and if you’ve frequented this forum you’ve been presented ample warnings. Like others said, you can have relationships. There’s now rule set. This is just a group of people venting about a common issue they’ve all seen. “Be careful” is the most valuable thing I can say.

Difficult situation, context matters though. At work, I’d probably LITERALLY get out a piece of paper and have her repeat the exact issue to restart. Good excuse is that you need to write it down to visualize or some bs. Can then redirect to the issues at hand. Or just end the convo by stating it’s not constructive discussion anymore and you’d like some time to think it out. Family or friends... I’m inclined to flat out say we’re not getting anywhere and let’s drop it. Very situational dependent…

I think better way to phrase things could be something like: “I absolutely love the inspirational posts on this sub showing others how they went their own way. Can’t wait to see more!” I get what you’re saying and enjoy them too, but the way you originally phrased things had a hint of negative criticism which most of your reply’s focused on.
