I think you’re right up to a point. Having children/starting a family is a big issue in those situations, except when children was never a factor. Maybe the couple can’t or they may decide to not have children. Oprah (64yo) decided early on that she was not going to have children and she’s been with Stedman since 1986 (~32 years).
