That's true, they can call someone to look up what you're in for, but that's only if you've been found guilty of something. You can't google someone's charges if they have no prior record and haven't been convicted of anything. But no one tried that on me anyway as far as I know. I just told them something very minor related to family (dispute with uncles leading to trouble etc). If you're convicted and going to be in for a long time, then that's another story.

I should mention that because he was a harmless guy inside that just read books all day, he was easy to pick on, so while I didn't see him be picked on, I did notice he was missing his front teeth, he told me that he had been bashed to lose them.
