I just retired at 57 and here are my suggestions; If you dislike consulting now, find a new job. It will not change. If there is a sucky, difficult project coming up, ask for it. If there is a new product or service, ask to be the first trained. If there is a particularly difficult job or piece of equipment, master it, document it and pass it along to a lower tier employee. Do you really think they are worried? From what I can see, govt is doing everything in thier power to make it even worse! Admittedly, I'm an old fart with no skin in this game. To me, it all started with the great society programs and no fault divorce. Men have been getting the shaft and made increasingly irrelevant ever since.
